France and chicken: somehow it just goes together.

In case you can’t see the chicken in the ad very well, he’s wearing a Napoleon outfit. bwahahahaha!

Of course, the french expats are in an uproar over it, but when you consider history, this is too funny.

If the french want us to quit French bashing, they should give us reasons not to do so rather than keep putting up the white flag, like in the case of islam which has invaded their country. All indications are that France, because they’re not willing to confront their rampant anti-semitism, will likely be a majority muslim nation within the next 10-20 years. They have a long history of a deep and ingrained yellow streak; giving up people to the nazis and so on.

Let’s not forget that Subway is in 81 countries outside the US, including France. And the American version of Subway isn’t the only one engaged in bashing…take a look at this image bashing Americans for being fat:

alt=it’s from a trayliner at German subways, which asks the question:

“Why are the Amis {Americans} (”Amis” - a derogatory term for Americans) so fat?” and includes a caricature of the Statue of Liberty as an obese woman holding fries and a hamburger.

Subway is taking advantage of the cultural differences and leveraging them into cash, that’s all.

The idea for the chicken in the Napoleon suit was to promote a French chicken sub, as opposed to suggesting that France is full of white-flag carrying yellow chickens.

No love is lost between us, remember–
Take a look at the Alpha Patriot’s description of some of Subway’s advertising outside of the US. As he says;

Still, I’ve decided not to boycott Subway. They are not clearly anti-American: they offend everyone in pursuit of sales. A fine capitalist tradition.

And I’m all about capitalism.

I don’t know…after I read about the french using dogs as shark bait, that pretty much did France in as far as I’m concerned. Let them become part of Eurabia.

    C’est La Guerre, Subway

The sandwich, I understand, came with a complimentary white napkin suitable for waving at the (ahem) appropriate moment.

    Frog Cuisine ala Chicken

Why do the French hate us so, and do we deserve their emnity? Well, it is true that in the 1600s and 1700s America welcomed with open arms the hated French protestants and French Jews who had escaped their native land with only their lives. However, F…

I never much cared for the French. Too snooty.

Because it’s their national emblem. Really.

WOW, Doug, that is a revelation! I never KNEW THAT!

What? You mean the ‘expats in an uproar’ neglected to mention that? Hmm. Nope, can’t imagine why.

Here’s an ooold pic that goes to show that the only new thing about Photoshopping is Photoshop. Remember - no one saw it coming. The little hat the chicken is wearing is one often worn by depictions of the symbol of the French revolution, Marianne. Coincidence, I’m sure.
