hypocrisy burns
Right here, courtesy of Euphoric Reality. Similar to my post below of the contractors who were killed in Fallujah strung up from the bridge, US Confirms killing of contractors in Iraq. Now get a load of the description of this as compared to our boys burning two already dead bodies.
BAGHDAD, Oct. 22 — Four U.S. contractors were killed last month when their convoy took a wrong turn, drove into a town north of Baghdad and was attacked by an angry mob, a senior U.S. military official said Saturday.
Oh, but this wasn’t just any old ordinary “mob”. (All emphasis mine)
The commander said the four men — identified by the Telegraph as employees of the Halliburton Co. subsidiary Kellogg Brown & Root — realized their convoy had taken a wrong turn and were desperately trying to escape from the town when their vehicle was attacked by insurgents.
The Telegraph said “dozens of Sunni Arab insurgents wielding rocket launchers and automatic rifles” pursued their truck and shot at it.
Two contractors who were not killed in the initial firing were dragged from their vehicle, and one was shot in the back of the head, the newspaper said. The crowd “doused the other with petrol and set him alight. Barefoot children, yelping in delight, piled straw on to the screaming man’s body to stoke the flames,” according to the report.
What kind of a society produces children who delight in adding to someone’s pain and suffering like that?
The crowd then “dragged their corpses through the street, chanting anti-U.S. slogans,” the newspaper reported.
What took the US government so long to release this information? This incident happened on September 20. Al Jazeera is, in fact, claiming that the US Government “hid” this information from the public. (Never letting one single opportunity to bash Americans go by, as is their style.)
Great example of the hypocrisy and the emphasis in the media on Americans and how horrible they treat the terrorist dead, when the terrorists–or even just regular muslims–have no problem with dragging the corpses of our dead around–or stoking the fire of a live screaming human inferno who happens to be a civilian, not a soldier. This is purposeful targetting of civilians, apparently by civilians…but who knows? These were sunnis, they could have been terrorists; they blend right in with the population and they’re hard to catch. And the media never calls a terrorist a terrorist…so I wonder what the whole story is behind this? Eventually the names of the men who were killed and burned in Fallujah came up, PBS has an interesting page up their information on it.
Zarqawi said that civilians are perfectly ok to kill, murder and torture, it’s sanctioned by the Koran. On the other hand, our soldiers are demonized for setting bodies that are ALREADY DEAD on fire–and they were members of the taliban, not civilians! This is hypocrisy with a purpose.
So when the communists are crying for the Iraqi civilians that our soldiers are supposedly killing, torturing or mistreating, I have to wonder exactly what the hell they’re talking about.
Those pakistanis were already dead for 24 hours in the 99 degree heat, bloated and beginning to stink. Someone had pointed out somewhere that parasites jump off a dead body and wait in the soil and the surroundings to glom onto a live human subject–there are all kinds of hygienic reasons to burn a body.
I’ve seen pictures of muslims kissing their dead, even if the dead is an old rotten corpse that was buried in a mass grave– apparently they either aren’t aware of good hygiene, or they simply don’t care if they get sick from a dead body.
The only kissing I’ve seen is of an embalmed corpse that’s been prepared for viewing…so all of this is very foreign and gross to me.
Religion of peace my ass.
Excuse me while I throw up.

CAO -
Definitely NOT a good time for this kind of report to come out for the Bush administration. Though obviously a sensationalist piece (of ****!) by a disingenuous editor or reporter that plays on the sensitivities of Muslims, even the hint of impropriety by American forces can be disastrous - this despite the despicable treatment of American and other coalition hostages and dead by Muslims. (Contractors burned, hung and dismembered in Fallujah comes to mind).
And now this example that you point out from LAST MONTH!!! Unbelievable…
And as it turns out, the story is not even true (as reported in Australia). Here is the quoted from DuPont, who shot the footage as an imbedded reporter.
“I actually believed that the guys that were involved in the burning did it for honorable reasons - they did it through their orders or did it for hygiene - I had no doubt in my mind that they were telling me the truth. If they were doing something that was problematic or controversial, there is no way they would have shown me this.”
Dupont admitted that “Psy-Ops” troops later used these still smoldering corpses to intimidate and challenge any nearby Taliban over loud speakers, but he did not feel that the burning itself had been staged or inappropriate.
I am getting pretty sick of **** myself…

A study in contrasts
US soldiers burn dead bodies, Iraqi “insurgents” burn people alive.

Insurgent Mob Burns American Body … While Still Alive
While US liberals and various editorials agonize over whether US soldiers burned Taliban corpses, bear in mind that (if it happened) at least they waited until the guys were dead.
September 20th, a mob killed four American contractors driving north …
