Jack Idema timeline
If you’re looking for pieces on Jack Idema and his team, please click on this link.
This is as clear a picture as I have on the series of events that lead up to Idema’s arrest back in July of 2004, and the events that followed. People have been asking me for a timeline of events because the volume of information is incredible. This will be updated this if new incidents or information come to the fore that should be inserted.
Prior to 2004, TASK FORCE SABER personnel had participated in numerous other operations starting in October 2001. These operations included combat advisor and combat medic operations in OPERATION ANACONDA in March 2002, and humanitarian assistance and rescue operations during the 2002 Nahrin earthquake disaster and other similar crises. All of these activities were officially as part of, or attached to, the Northern Alliance Anti-Taliban Forces and the United Front.
During these operations Task Force Saber/7 personnel and the Afghans under Idema’s command (UFMF forces and Afghan CIA) were repeatedly commended for their actions by U.S. forces such as Task Force 180, high-ranking members of both the Northern Alliance and the Afghan government, including numerous cabinet level Ministers, National Security Council members, Vice-President Kareem Khalili, and even President Karzai himself.
During November and December 2003, Counterr Group developed intelligence identifying al-Qaida threats to U.S. citizens and American diplomats. By February 2004 Counterr Group had identified two distinct terrorist cells. Once again, Counterr Group delivered significant actionable intelligence on al-Qaida terrorists to the U.S. DOD, DIA, CIA, NSA, and FBI. These exchanges and intel reports occurred on a regular basis between December 2003 and April 2004, prior to Task Force Saber/7 returning to Afghanistan. This Human Intelligence (HUMINT) included; a) the location of Osama bin Laden, b) the location and satellite phone numbers of Ayman al-Zawahiri, c) information regarding al-Qaida operatives in both the United States and Afghanistan, including probable American targets, and d) classified information on al-Qaida and other associated terrorist groups.
On May 3, 2004, they detained a violent animal of a terrorist. You can see some of this at ABC Australia. There are illegally obtained photographs there that Maxim Magazine also published. Journalists have used those pictures as examples of how Idema “tortured” the terrorists at his compound in Kabul. Obviously, they got their facts mixed up–because Sarajan was not part of the raids that led up to the arrests on July 6.
Things had begun to change for Idema and his team somewhere around May when there was an FBI warrant put out for his arrest.
Somewhere around that time, Jack’s wife Viktoria Running Wolf Update 12/5: I stand corrected! I’m moving this to January of 2005.
In June, Idema was attacked by members of Al Qaeda when a taxi pulled up along side his SUV. Automatic weapons fire raked Idema’s truck. The taxi sped off and for the next several hours, Idema and his team gave chase.
It was fast becoming clear that while American and Afghan officials may at first have been willing to listen to Idema’s information, vet it and still keep him at arm’s length, something significant had changed by June. Jack was in a firefight with Al Qaeda terrorists in the street and Ambassador Khalilzad wanted to know who fired the gun.
June/July 2004
Detention of the dumb guy off the bus June/July 2004 with a letter from his brother in Gitmo in his pocket. Not only is Ghulamsaki’s, brother (Mohammad Asef, an al-Qaida operative) in detention at the Guantanamo Bay terrorist confinement facility (GITMO), but he also has a brother-in-law who is Osama bin Laden’s Chief of Security (known as “Daoud”). Ghulamsaki had been unsuccessfully sought by the FBI for months. Idema not only captured Ghulamsaki (this just demonstrates how accurate the HUMINT he gets really is), and the FBI later interrogated him with Idema acting as the primary interrogator. Ghulamsaki described his group’s terrorist plans to attack Bagram Airbase and kill U.S. soldiers with explosive laden fuel trucks. The FBI Field Agents determined and concluded that Ghulamsaki was in fact a terrorist working with others terrorists captured by Idema and his team, to murder U.S. citizens. He fully confessed to a plot to kill 500-1000 American soldiers at Bagram airfield to these two agents, and an FBI 302 Field report was written and sent by high priority Operational Urgent to FBI Headquarters in Washington. Just three days before the Afghan trial started the FBI 302 Field Report was classified SECRET/SCI and was no longer available for the defense, or anyone else, including the DOD.
All of the terrorists arrested by Task Force Saber/7 with either actual explosives, detonators, bomb parts, and/or bomb plans in their possession, as well as documents and correspondence proving their links and association with the Taliban, Hezb-i-Islami, and al-Qaida, including handwritten maps and diagrams of a past bomb attack on General Lodeen, a Shabnama “night letter” calling for a jihad against Americans authored by none other than Mullah Omar himself, and in the case of a terrorist named Ghulamsaki a coded Red Cross letter from his brother (Mohammed Asef), an al-Qaida detainee in Cuba. Additionally, one of the terrorist’s taxis tested positive for explosives by German ISAF bomb teams. The physical evidence against the terrorists was irrefutable, conclusive, and backed-up by incriminating videotaped statements, undercover surveillance, informants, and extraordinary physical evidence.
The videotaped interviews show Idema questioning his detainees in a calm manner, while the detainee drinks miranda soda.
Questioning in the safehouse in Kabul–the method used: letting him relax, have a drink and give it all away.
It should also be noted Specats and SF Ops have around 50 safehouses similar to the one Idema was running–where they question Taliban/Al Qaeda operatives and then turn them over to Bagram AFB. Idema and his men were going to turn these terrorists over to Bagram the very afternoon this happened.
CBS’ representatives are present and filming (alongside Caraballo), they are interested in reporting this story to compare effective interrogation techniques versus those at Gitmo, Idema would like to stress the importance of continuing to support the Northern Alliance and Massoud’s United Front Military Forces.
Idema is told he’s going to work for Centcomm. He flips them off.
The raid and subsequent detention and questioning of Judge Sidiq. Sidiq would probably not have been arrested if the terrorist-hunters had not found pictures of Sidiq with Gulbideen Hekmatyar, one of the world’s most wanted terrorists, along with bomb plans, explosive detonators, al-Qaida and Hezb-i-Islami documents and recruiting cards, and a letter from Wanted Terrorist Mullah Omar in his pocket.
It should be noted that as of this writing Mullah Omar and Hekmatyar are both conspicously missing from the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorist list.
The FBI puts out a “wanted flyer”
July 5, 2004
CBS’ representatives hurriedly exit. It would seem they were afraid of the possible scandal if it should come out they were present at Idema’s safehouse in Kabul. CBS begins reporting the same story angle on Idema that other journalists report, citing the same sources.
Idema and his men are approached by his longtime friend Babajan, that they’re not being “arrested”, that someone just wants to talk with him.
July 6, 2004.
ARRESTED. The charges are: Entering the country illegally with “Indian passports”, running a “torture chamber”. The charges brought against them are based on lies from known terrorists. It must be noted here: Specats and SF Ops have around 50 of the same type of safehouse Idema had in and around Kabul. The purpose: to question them and get intelligence information before handing them over to Bagram AFB.
Instead of a “friendly meeting” the men were arrested at Kabul NDS Headquarters and turned over to former Taliban officials at NDS. When first “arrested,” the men were placed in the NDS’ underground torture chamber where Jack and Zorro were subjected to beatings until they were unconscious. Jack sustained a broken sternum, torn rotator cuffs, both eyes had detached retinas, etc. Major Ezmerai was electrocuted for days, and the screams could be heard throughout NDS. Syhail and Sherzai were beaten, threatened, and Sherzai finally drugged when he refused to sign a statement against Jack. Bennett was interrogated relentlessly, and threatened with death repeatedly shown a knife and told his ears and nose would be cut off. (To date Bennett has lost 8 teeth because of those beatings.) The torture was with the full knowledge and sanction of the FBI who were directing it, using the Afghans as proxies. FBI agents were at some points laughing about it in the hallway.
At some point after Jack and his team’s arrest, Khalilzad, Karzai et. al- arrange for Ghulumsaki’s release.
CBS denies their presence at Idema’s Kabul compound by not reporting firsthand reports or airing video evidence which would have proven that there never was a basement in the house (so they couldn’t have suspended or hung people in the basement), and the interrogation techniques used did not involve torture and were, in fact, humane. Reportedly, some of this evidence includes actual visual images and documentation of the terrorists actually HUGGING Idema.
7/11/2004
Idema, as commander of the group, and in accordance with the Geneva Conventions of 1949, asserted Prisoner of War status for all seven individuals to Ingram on or about July 11, 2004. Sandra Ingram, Acting US Consul, not only refused to acknowledge Idema’s assertion, she refused to pass hisrequest on to the appropriate authorities, and refused to provide him with a copy of the Geneva Conventions as required by law. Idema also asserted their POW status and right to protection to NDS, the FBI, and various Karzai officials. During a subsequent visit by Ingram, Idema put his request in writing and demanded she make an entry in her Embassy notebook (Ingram refused to sign a receipt for Idema’s POW protected status request). Further, Ingram refused to forward this request to the Red Cross, stating her DOS bosses “ordered” her not to.
On or about this time, NDS, acting with agents of the FBI [Unnamed Agents 2 & 3], and possibly Ingram herself, removed Bennett’s and Idema’s dog tags, removed the their Geneva Convention Identity Cards, and removed Idema and Bennett’s U.S. passports. The FBI also removed crucial exculpatory evidence from NDS headquarters; including approximately 50 rolls of 35mm film, 200 videotapes, and 500 documents, many of which were official documents which were evidence of actual innocence.
The trial is postponed until their injuries heal and the injuries are not readily apparent to the media. They are threatened if they show their injuries to the Red Cross.

Flogging the Simian begins posts on Jack Idema, some attorney/client privileged legal mail given to the Embassy in 2004 ended up being posted on the Flogging Fraud’s website. This included highly confidential legal documents regarding their defense strategy. Eventually the Embassy returned the mail opened, rifled, and in some cases with pages missing. From the outset, the American Embassy, Khalilzad and Karzai et al have refused them the right to send and receive mail, some of it has been confiscated, most of it opened, some of it completely stolen.
John Tiffany arrives in mid-August and can still see evidence of Jack’s severe injuries. They needed some time in order to prepare their case.
The defense evidence, such as the tapes Caraballo made, the emails on TASK FORCE SABER/7’s computers, the film, photos, and authorization documents signed by government officials and everything else that could help the defense, was all either destroyed or confiscated by the FBI and most of it was never allowed to be used at trial, except for a few videotapes the defendants were able to assemble.
More than fifty journalists watched two FBI agents walk into an August hearing and return a box (Marked MRE’s) with only about 75 videotapes which had been illegally removed from NDS more than one month before. Dozens of tapes were missing, dozens were erased, and several were redacted. Not ONE member of the Press reported the full story on this event, just glossing over it as a sideline, even though they watched it happen before their very eyes, neither did the press question the FBI on why they had done this.
In August 2004 a car bomb killed American and foreign DYNCORP employees in Kabul. The terrorist attack was the same modis operandi of the terrorists captured by Idema and his men and released at the request of the DOS, the FBI and/or the Afghan officials named previously. After Khalilzad, Karzai et al. arranged the release of Ghulamsaki, the DYNCORP bombing occurred. Intelligence assets for Counterr Group learned shortly thereafter that Ghulamsaki and his brother-in-law had conducted the DYNCORP bombing in Kabul. The FBI has since classified the FBI “302 Field Reports” relating to the interrogation and confession of Ghulamsaki taken by Idema and U.S. government agents. This was the intentional withholding of exculpatory evidence which Idema and his men required and had a right to.
What is obvious through this convoluted progression of events is Idema and his men have repeatedly been denied any rights which the Geneva Conventions and Karzai’s signing of agreements were supposed to insure were protected while Americans are working in whatever capacity in Afghanistan. It is disgusting (IMO) that our tax dollars are going over there when Karzai has not honored the agreements he signed.

Tod Robberson published “Records seem to discredit self-proclaimed Special Forces expert…..” in the Dallas Morning News. This is just one of many pieces Tod made up from his desk in Dallas.
9/2004
The trial begins.
9/15/2004 the taliban judges declare them guilty and convicted of all charges, in spite of extensive evidence of innocence. The FBI confiscated much of the evidence and eventually all of the evidence in the case, leaving them with no way to defend themselves. They were charged with illegally entering the country, kidnapping, and torture. Sentenced to terms of prison ranging from five years (Lt Banderas) to eight years (Caraballo a journalist) and finally ten years, Captain Bennett and Jack, the TF SABER 7 Commander.
9/16/2004
Idema and his men were transferred to Pulacharke Prison aka Pol-e-charkhi prison due to intervention by the Northern Alliance and the Minister of Justice, who removed the seven men from NDS custody and into a Ministry of Justice controlled facility under their direct control and outside the physical custody of the FBI. Since the Minister of Justice interceded all torture has ceased, and Ministry of Justice general officers have gone to extraordinary efforts to exceed Geneva Convention requirements regarding treatment. Although they are still at grave risk– they were taken back into NDS custody in October and subjected to threats and abuse once more, but Northern Alliance Ministry of Justice personnel forcibly removed them from NDS custody again.
10/2004
Stacy Sullivan’s piece comes out from New York Magazine called “Keith Idema’s Operation Desert Fraud”. Sullivan stole pictures, violated copyrights, purposely used bad sources, lied, misrepresented pictures, and got her facts wrong. This was just one of the pieces that the media put out quoting the same lying sources. You’d think they’d make sure what they were putting into print could be verified. Guess the only goal of journalists these days is to sell papers, not make sure they’re accurately reporting antyhing, just like STAR magazine and the National Inquirer.
Tod Robberson published “Americans have Plush Digs in Afghan Prison” in the Dallas Morning News. Tod Robberson not only made up half his stories from a desk in Dallas, but when he finally did get to Afghanistan, instead of asking Jack for an interview, he snuck into their quarters, while they were in court, and stole documents, family correspondence, and pictures, claiming to be a DOD employee.
10/8/2004
Counterr Group’s intelligence assets were responsible for assisting security forces in seizing fuel trucks packed with explosives in Southern Afghanistan. Those Counterr Group assets and the other unnamed Counter-Terrorist Group officers continue to remain covert by necessity for their protection. Counterr Group personnel also identified two other bombings prior to their detonation, one of which was in Jalalabad. The terrorists responsible for all of these bombings remain at large, and under the protection of Sidiq and other parties named as officials of the Afghan government and agents of the FBI.
11/2004
The FBI again took the evidence after they realized that there were still tapes that could be used in the Appeals Court new trial, and no one has seen it since. FBI agents, and US State Department officers continually supported a guilty verdict as a quick way of showing the Muslim world that Abu Ghraib type events would be fully prosecuted based on any allegation by a Muslim. Furthermore, that all allegations would be accepted on their face, without evidence and without substantiation regardless of the evidence.
12/2004
The appeals process begins. In December, they’re declared innocent, the Afghans are released. Zorro opts to stay, saying if there’s one thing he’s learned–it’s “leave no man behind”.
Maxim Magazine prints a piece called “Who the hell is Jack Idema?”
12/17/2004
The 7th attempt on their lives at Pulacharke prison due to an Al Qaeda “riot”. During the 8 hour siege, the US government, specifically Lieutenant General David Barno, stated that he could care less if the they were killed in order to “end the problem” with them. Additionally, the US State Department, although notified that the Americans were under siege by al-Qaida terrorists, told Idema during the siege, that the US government would render no assistance, and had NO INTENTION of preventing their murder. LTG Barno was later quoted as stating Petitioners’ murder would “be a good thing.”
The court was shown videotape evidence of secret US Military meetings with the group, meetings with US intelligence officers, Ministry of Defence officials, and even Marshall Mohammed Fahim, the Minister of Defence. But even more compelling, according to Court Officials was the testimony of a government police official that was present at the arrest of admitted terrorist Ghulamsaki (whose brother Mohammed Asef is in GITMO Detention, Cuba).
As the result of closed door hearing testimony, according to Afghan Appeals Court judges, it is now undisputed that it was Idema’s men who were tortured, not the original terrorist detainees arrested by Idema‘s group. Furthermore, that FBI Agents are alleged to have authorized and/or been present for the torture of Idema and his men in NDS custody. Sometimes the FBI Agents were present in the room, sometimes in the next room passing messages and questions during the interrogations and torture.
1/2005
Mariah Blake’s piece comes out from Columbia Journalism Review called “Tin Soldier”. She stole faxes and letters from the Counterr Group Office, in addition to quoting “sources” who were frauds.
In early January, the U.S. Marshal’s Service Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Idema’s wife, Vickie Robertson, on a 6-year-old warrant from Texas charging her with a parole violation. From Gary Barnes from ABC Fayetteville:
Robertson, also known as Viktoria Running Wolf, said the Federal Bureau of Investigation interrogated her for about three hours at the Cumberland County Detention Center. She was released hours after her arrest, when Texas officials declined to extradite her, lawmen said.
Jay Meehan, head of the task force in Fayetteville, said he was instructed to arrest Robertson at the request of another agency, which he refused to identify.
Tim Gannon, the head FBI agent in Fayetteville, said the bureau does not comment on pending investigations. Gannon would not say whether that means there is an investigation of Idema. A law enforcement source confirmed that the FBI was involved in questioning Robertson.
Tom Bumback, Idema’s longtime friend and business partner, said the FBI questioned him at his Fayetteville home.
Bumback said FBI agents told him they were investigating Idema on a criminal matter, but they wouldn’t be more specific. He said their questioning took a shotgun approach, covering many aspects of Idema’s past.
”They are on a witch hunt,” Bumback said. ”They know he is getting out and they want to pick him up on whatever they can.”
In January, end of February and March 2005, the Afghans have consistently declared the Americans “innocent” and have suggested their release.
In early March, US Consul Russel Brown, at the direction of Khalilzad, informed Jack and his men that all drinking water would be terminated by the United States government, and that they would no longer be allowed access to potable drinking water.
Without water, they will be forced to drink local water which contains microorganisms and bacteria fatal to American citizens and forces in Central West Asia. Although ciprofloxacin can be administered to combat the severe dysentery, vomiting, and eventually death* that will occur as the result of the denial of drinking water, two problems make this solution untenable. First, ciprofloxacin is not readily available, the US Embassy has already refused to supply drugs to them, and the FBI confiscated the medical and surgical kits they possessed to avoid any link to the United States government.** Second, because Idema has operated in Afghanistan for more than three years, he has already used ciprofloxacin extensively and is not a suitable candidate for continued long-term use. The same situation would apply to Bennett and Caraballo if they were to be forced into long-term use of ciprofloxacin. Therefore, the denial of water is not only completely retaliatory and nefarious, but brutally vindictive and unwarranted.
March 17, 2005, New York, NY
Attorney John Tiffany filed a Habeas Corpus lawsuit/civil action against FBI Director Robert Mueller, the State Department and Khalilzad. The case has been assigned to the Honorable US District Judge Alvin Hellerstein. This will certainly shed some light on what really went down in this case.
4/12/2005 New York, NY
The Honorable Judge Hellerstein DENIED the FBI and Khalilzad’s request for a 90 day extension to answer a complaint. Judge Hellerstein gave the government only two weeks- they had to answer to the Court before the end of April.
During April 2005 The last piece about Jack Idema is published by Flogging the Simian. All is conspicously quiet since his source is now on the run and he’s no longer being fed information or illegally procured documents.
5/5/2005
Peter Bergen’s article in Rolling Stone Magazine, “Shadow Warrior”. It should be noted that up until this point, journalists were joining Flogging the Simian in depicting Idema as a rogue bounty hunter criminal type guy. This is the first piece that indicates that those stories are not true. However, Bergen, who owns property in Kabul, knows what side his bread is buttered on.
5/10/2005
Ghulamsaki has been linked to the capture of wanted al-Qaida terrorist al-Libi (”the Libyan”).
5/6/2005, New York, NY
The government has defended the case by saying they were improperly served and that the Court has no jurisdiction to hear the case- they have refused to answer the allegations.
5/18/2005
The case has been transferred to Washington, D.C. from New York.
June, 2005
The Habeas Corpus case file has disapppeared.
FOIA case has been filed. (This due to the fact that documents crucial to Idema’s defending himself are “classified”)
9/2005
Voices of the Mujahdeen call for Idema’s release
9/30/2005
The United States Government appeared in Federal Court in Washington, DC to answer charges that the Department of State and FBI destroyed documents and evidence proving Idema was innocent of all charges. The hearing was held in front of US District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan. Another hearing has been scheduled to give the government two weeks to work out an agreement with Idema’s pro bono lawyers. Judge Sullivan was apparently not pleased with the fact that the entire Habeas Corpus case file was missing from the Washington DC Courthouse.
10/1/2005, Washington, DC
Ori Lev, a US government attorney is claiming that US Marshal records are lost, and that the US Marshals are not a government agency that can be forced to divulge their records of an illegal arrest.
11/2005
Thanksgiving for Jack Idema, Captain Bennett, Lt Banderas, and Journalist Carabello went like this: Ten US Special Operations Soldiers were threatened by the Dept of State with Article 15’s (low level court martials) if they brought Turkey to Pulacharke Prison on Thanksgiving.
Previously, reports were coming in that the America Red Cross were delivering water to the Taliban and Al Qaeda prisoners at Pulacharke, but were denying it to the American prisoners–Jack Idema, Brent Bennett and Ed Caraballo.
US Consul Addie Harchick visted them, refused them mail, and then tried to drive away with the water the Marines sent them, until an Afghan General had his bodyguards block the Embassy car and force them to deliver the water.
They DID celebrate Thanksgiving–but with chickens brought to them by the Afghan Generals.
12/2/2005
Washington hearing on the FOIA case. Case has been postponed until January. The Habeas and the FOIA case will be heard in January by the Honorable Emmett Sullivan.
***************
The American government continues to stand in the way of their release.
**************
In spite of the fact that many of the articles that came out while Jack and his team were in prison depicted him as a rogue bounty hunter, ex-con, criminal and poser, there were some articles written in the not-so-distant past that painted a completely different picture of Jack’s work. There is the story of his rescuing 300 people during the Nahrin earthquake and helping the Afghan people after the Taliban bombing it Anaconda.
Although journalists were citing questionable “experts” after Jack’s arrest in 2004 that the Al Qaeda tapes were “fakes”, prior to 2004 (and after about March of 2005), journalists were reporting on conclusions that should be drawn from the tapes, that the tapes were important warnings and lessons about what to expect from Al Qaeda for the West, and in retrospect eerily foreshadowed a suggested strategy like “hostage taking”, which we all saw was heavily implemented later in Iraq.
One such journalist was Elizabeth Neuffer at the Boston Globe. She was in Afghanistan reporting on the war and was a highly respected correspondent. Neuffer traveled extensively throughout Afghanistan during the war and then covered the Iraq war where she was killed in May 2003. It was a great loss to the industry because Neuffer was known to be one of the rare journalists with impeccable credentials, and unquestionable ethics.
Unlike other Al Qaeda training videos that have been found, which show members receiving basic military training like running through obstacle courses, these tapes focus on the groupís plans on using hostage-taking tactics and assassination as part of their activities.
That particular sentence proved to be true, as we’ve seen the hostage taking tactics employed in Iraq and all over the world since that piece was written.
Neuffer’s body of work has been scrubbed from the Boston Globe website and from the web. However, the Superpatriots have this one particular piece archived. Neuffer reported the importance of the Al Qaeda tapes and cites experts who vouched for their authenticity.
She talks about the site where the videos were taken:
A recent visit to the site confirms that a former school and administrative building were used as the facility shown in the tape. The amount of snow that appeared on the mountains in some of the videos indicates that taping was done during early spring.
The train camp footage, narrated in Arabic, was clearly pitched to non-Afghans. In one segment, would-be terrorists are instructed to return to Yemen to pick up passports and then travel to Pakistan or Afghanistan.
Analysts who have viewed the tapes said they indicate terrorists were preparing for attacks on the West. The tapes show a high degree of understanding about Europe and America.
“They’re training to go towards a western target,” said one special forces officer, with experience in counterterrorism, who viewed the tapes in the United States, “That’s who they hate.”
Another piece was from CBS in 2002 was called Hearts Of Darkness
The seven hours of videotape, which show how al Qaida trains its recruits, were shot sometime last year at a [terrorist training] facility about 30 minutes from downtown Kabul. [The full seven hours has only been given to US intelligence agencies].
So in other words, any journalist who claims he’s seen the full 7 hours of tapes is full of it.
JULY 4, 2005
CIA Confirms that Journalists Lied in Idema Case !
According to AIM (Accuracy in the Media) journalist Sherrie Gossett,
“I asked the CIA about the Al-Qaeda tapes. They said they never did voice verification on them and had not performed authentication processes on them. I asked if they had copies of the tapes, and they wouldn’t answer. I asked if they planned on or would run authentication processes on them, and they also wouldn’t answer.”
Sherrie Gossett at Washington, DC based AIM (Accuracy In Media) decided to contact the CIA herself. Her CIA responses match EXACTLY what Jack has been saying since day one. The CIA doesn’t have time to do voice analysis unless it is for real-time HUMINT intelligence purposes; the CIA is not going to admit having the tapes Jack gave them (think FOIA and other legal ramifications), the CIA doesn’t waste time authenticating anything for journalists, who they, like all those in Special Ops, hate, and lastly, the CIA didn’t need to confirm authentication, they knew they were real and already had several featured terrorists in custody.
Therefore, if A is opposite B, and A is true, then B is false. Conclusion: NY Magazine and the others lied.
We would assume that there are some journalists in some serious trouble over this.

Why is General Barno still a Commander over there? This man has no business being over anything if he dismisses the very people trying to do their jobs!Is this is what is passing for our modern day generals now?if it is our country is in deep trouble. All these organizations need a serious housecleaning!we have to many weenies in State,CIA,FBI,and DOD.They all seem to care more about their own *** instead of the troops and the people of Afganistan. And I wish Bush would finally wise up and bring sedition and treason charges against the press because they have already chosen the side of who they are on;and it isn’t ours!Same thing for Congress, still arguing over Iraq while Mr. Idema and his crew are catching pure hell.Boy,just wish I could give Congress, the President, and those other departments like state a piece of my mind.I feel we should since we do foot their bills and all.He who pays the piper calls the tune.

[…] Jack Idema Timeline […]

[…] Right now, three of men who fought that war are stuck in prison at the behest of the State Department. Meanwhile, just this week, President Karzai begged Taliban scumbag-in-chief Mullah Omar to ‘get in touch if he wanted peace’. It’s difficult, not to conclude that something’s going badly wrong with a war in which we offer amnesty to the chief architects of 9/11, while imprisoning the men who risked their lives to bring these animals to justice. So what can we do? Well, anyone reading this with their own blog can sign up for the weekly Free Jack Idema Blogburst by emailing Cao or Rottweiler Puppy for details. I’d urge everyone to do this, as we’re still terribly short on takers. If you want to know more about the story, Cao’s Blog has a large section devoted to Jack Idema. There’s also a timeline here, and, of course, a huge amount of information is available over at SuperPatriots, without whose work none of us would have learned about Jack’s story. […] Far from concerning the agencies whose word keeps Idema imprisoned, the thought that Jack and his men might die in prison appeals to these people: The 7th attempt on their lives at Pulacharke prison due to an Al Qaeda “riot”. LTG Barno was later quoted as stating Petitioners’ murder would “be a good thing.” […]

[…] Unfortunately for Idema, the arrest of Judge Sidiq seems to have prompted the Afghan interim government to move against Jack and his men. Sidiq was, after all, an important man, and his detention perhaps alarmed not only those ‘ex’-Taliban who were now working with the interim government, but also those sections of the FBI and State Department who still cling to myths like ‘containment’ and ‘realpolitik’. Idema, it should go without saying, is very much the sort of man who believes that terrorists cannot be appeased or given settlements — They must, he says, be captured or killed. This difference of opinion came to a head in the following way: Instead of a “friendly meeting” the men were arrested at Kabul NDS Headquarters and turned over to former Taliban officials at NDS. […]

Some people are incredibly rude, don’t you think?
I find it incredibly interesting that people should find it necessary to come here and talk about my having sex with animals…thinking that’s going to irritate me or something.
I don’t need blood pressure medicine,
but it appears to me as though you’re already chewing on something. Could it be khat, nonn?
This timeline raises a lot of questions, Lisa. And we should be asking them.

Yet, by the summer of 2004, they’d been pushed to one side by the State Department, along with soldiers like Idema who stuck around to finish the job they’d started in 2001.Fast-forward two more years, and today we can see where these policies have led: Most Taliban and al-Qaeda terrorists are back on the streets, enabled by men like Mujaddedi, whose corruption is so complete that he finds himself under attack by an entirely new form of terrorist — Ordinary Afghans radicalised, not by Western ‘aggression’, or Abu Ghraib, or Israel, but by the failings of their own President to punish Islamofascists for committing one of the largest gang-rapes in history. Truly, we are snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. […] Nothing. Not one mention of Ed in two, long years. Not one mention of the fact that his conviction, along with Jack and Brent’s, was quashed on appeal over a year ago, and that all three men are being held in a legal limbo. Not even a word about Ed when, three weeks ago, he was forced to give an interview from Pulacharke with an Islamist’s sword to his throat. Well, so much for RWB’s stated aim of protecting the right of journalists to ’seek, receive and impart information and ideas regardless of frontiers’.And so much for Ed Caraballo. So what can we do? […] That’s right, a Taliban court did not follow the rule of law under the new system, so that’s why there was a second trial! But sadly, these facts are ignored by the MSM. There is no reason that they are being held, there is no reason these men are not free, except that the American government switched sides mid-stream and is now appeasing terrorists instead of fighting them, and the media is playing along with this betrayal of our fighting forces, and I find it abominable. They were not ‘found guilty’ under Afghan law, they were railroaded by a Taliban court! And the accomplices have lost their jobs and titles and some have fled the country. We will continue to blog about this until their release, and I have some definite questions to ask the American government and the people involved, how this could have ever have happened to Americans in a foreign country to begin with. The most important thing we should push for is a CONGRESSIONAL INVESTIGATION. So what can we do about this? Well, for bloggers, there’s the weekly Free Jack Idema Blogburst. We are still really, really, really desperate for more people to get involved with this — The only way we can help Jack, Brent and Ed is by getting the truth about the case out to as many people as possible. Obviously, the more of us there are posting on this topic, the greater chance there is that our voices will be heard. Anyone wishing to sign up for the Free Jack Idema Blogburst should email Cao or Rottweiler Puppy for details.
