Kerry, free your 180!

By: Cao, Filed under: General , Jean Francois Kerrie @ 5:55 am

I’ve forgotten that some people have come into this thing late in the game. The fact is, John Kerry DID sign his 180–but not all of the records were released and this is why.

Yes folks, it’s that time again. And guess what? After all the smoke and mirrors, the situation with Kerry’s 180 is pretty much the same.

Kerry, free your 180! The whole thing!

While Kerry claims to have signed his 180, there are many of us who are still unimpressed. The Boston Globe seemed unimpressed also The records were:

mostly a duplication of what Kerry released during his 2004 campaign for president, including numerous commendations from commanding officers who later criticized Kerry’s Vietnam service.

Not to mention that they were released to the guy who wrote his bio, for cripe’s sake.

Michelle Malkin aptly says “the spin continues“.

Marc Landers at USS Neverdock wonders what exactly the paper got:

…We need someone else to do a Form 180 request and we need to know if Kerry signed Part III of that form.

Mark Coffey at Decision 08 offers an alternative explanation: Maybe he did release the full records and he’s just the stupidest politician alive.

John O’Neill told Matt Margolis
he has some questions about this, too.

We called for Kerry to execute a form which would permit anyone to examine his full and unexpulgated [sic] military records at the Navy Department and the National Personnel Records Center. Instead he executed a form permitting his hometown paper to obtain the records currently at the Navy Department. The Navy Department previously indicated its records did not include various materials.

This is hardly what we called for. If he did execute a complete release of all records we could then answer questions such as

(1)Did he ever receive orders to Cambodia or file any report of such a mission (whether at Christmas or otherwise);

(2) What was his discharge status between 1970 and 1978 (when he received a discharge) and was it affected by his meetings in 1970 and 1971 with the North Vietnamese?

(3)why did he receive much later citations for medals purportedly signed by Secretary Lehman who said he did not know of them;

(4) Are there Hostile Fire and Personnel Injured by Hostile Fire Reports for Kerry’s Dec. 1968 Purple Heart (when the officer in charge of the boat Admiral Schacte, the treating Surgeon Louis Letson, and Kerry’s Division Commander deny there was hostile fire causing a scratch) awarded three months later under unknown circumstances. ‘

Kit points out that the Form 180 gives you the option to get a “deleted” copy, which leaves out the reasons for separation and reenlistment eligibility code. Kerry must really think we’re stupid.

Here’s the section on the 180 form that Kit and Matt were discussing *that Kerry probably checked*:

So here we go again.

For those of you who keep wondering why we’re pursuing this, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect someone who’s been a Senator for 20 years to tell the truth, and especially someone who ran for president on the platform that he is a war hero so he was “reporting for doody”. Even General Eisenhower didn’t do that.

I urge you all, write to Kerry, fax to kerry, protest his faux “release” and keep blogging away and use the “OHB” standard to beat the hell out of press and media outlets for shirking their responsibilities and thus further erode what little trust remains of an otherwise noble craft called journalism. I, for one, am not going to let this go. Civil servants own the public trust and should be worthy of it–they’re getting paid with our tax dollars. Traits like honesty should be the least of what we get from this–and we shouldn’t allow him to get away with this without a lot of noise in the blogosphere.

Remember, there are some serious questions about his “war hero” claims which would be set to rest if he’d just release the damned records like we asked. Now he’s doing a tap dance around the issue, and a sleight of hand.

There is evidence out there about the question of his discharge. Beldar Blog has a post up which shows the documentation -at Kerry’s campaign website and adds it up for us. So many questions still unanswered, Mr. Kerry, you slippery guy, you!

  6. Scooter Libby Says:

    Why do you pursue this issue with such zeal yet seemingly ignore the intelligence failure which led up to the war.

    is it

    a.) You are more republican than American
    b.) You dont care
    c.) You are stupid

    please answer

  7. Cao Says:

    John Kerry promised the American public on national television to release his records. To date, he has not. You think we should just ignore his blatant lies, his going after the swift boats veterans through the courts because they were just exposing what he really did and didn’t honor his distorted version of events? It’s obvious that the guy can’t tell the difference between the truth and the fantasyland in his head–that’s why wee need to know what’s in those 100 or so missing pages. Instead of a “hero” of 4 months and a bandaid, it appears as though something is very strange about his discharge, among other things. According to you, we’re just supposed to forget about his promise to the American people? Why would that be? Because of your intense hatred of Bush and you’d rather that everyone would rather concentrate on that? Please tell me how those two things are related.

    Can one make the case that President George W. Bush “lied” or “misled” or intentionally “mischaracterized” the intelligence on Iraq and WMD in order to lead us to war? Sure, if one possesses a visceral anti-Bush mindset. That applies to you!

    Add that to your willingness to ignore powerful arguments in favor of the war:

    – Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski, during a press conference, said “Many months before (the) Iraqi action, I met (the) predecessor of (chief U.N. weapons inspector) Hans Blix in Warsaw. . . . He told me (a) very important thing: that Saddam had these weapons or is ready to produce these weapons. Because to have such (an) impression that he has mass destruction weapons is a part of his doctrine, to keep . . . power in Iraq and to be strong in the region. So I think it’s very difficult today to judge how it was when he . . . decided to continue this project of mass destruction weapons. . . . Absolutely, Iraq is ready to produce if it’s necessary to keep the power of and dictatorship of Saddam and to play such (an) important role in the region.”

    – In October 2003, months after the Iraq war began, former President Bill Clinton visited Portuguese Prime Minister Jose Manuel Durao Barroso. Durao Barroso said, “When Clinton was here recently he told me he was absolutely convinced, given his years in the White House and the access to privileged information which he had, that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction until the end of the Saddam regime.”

    – French President Jacques Chirac, in February 2003, spoke about “the probable possession of weapons of mass destruction by an uncontrollable country, Iraq,” noting “the international community is right . . . in having decided that Iraq should be disarmed.”

    – Former Clinton CIA director R. James Woolsey, in a Wall Street Journal article, made several points — that Saddam possibly intentionally misled the world into thinking he still possessed WMD to keep his status as a power player in the region; that stockpiles of WMD possibly remained only to be destroyed at the last minute; that WMD-related material “probably” entered Syria months before the war; that Iraq admitted making 8,500 liters (8.5 tons) of anthrax, which if reduced to powder, could fill a dozen easily portable suitcases; and that “Iraq’s ties with terrorist groups in the ’90s are clear,” with a decade worth of connections between Iraq and al Qaeda, “including training in poisons, gases, and explosives.”

    – Weapons hunter David Kay, testifying before the Senate Armed Services Committee, said that based on the pre-war intelligence, Saddam Hussein posed “a gathering, serious threat to the world.” Hussein’s scientists possibly misled the former dictator into believing Iraq possessed WMD, with the scientists possibly misappropriating funds. Kay also said that, based on his investigation, Iraq posed an even greater danger than previously thought.

    – Former President Bill Clinton on Dec. 16, 1998, stated, “Other countries possess weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles. With Saddam, there is one big difference: He has used them. Not once, but repeatedly. Unleashing chemical weapons against Iranian troops during a decade-long war. Not only against soldiers, but against civilians, firing Scud missiles at the citizens of Israel, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Iran. And not only against a foreign enemy, but even against his own people, gassing Kurdish civilians in Northern Iraq. . . . I have no doubt today, that left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will use these terrible weapons again. . . . ”

    – Former President Clinton, in an appearance on “Larry King Live” on July 22, 2003, said, ” . . . (I)t is incontestable that on the day I left office, there were unaccounted for stocks of biological and chemical weapons. We might have destroyed them in ‘98. We tried to, but we sure as heck didn’t know it because we never got to go back there.”

    The near pathological contempt so many hold for President Bush clouds their ability to put themselves in the commander-in-chief’s shoes. On Sept. 11, in America, over 3,000 people lost their lives. Meanwhile, Saddam Hussein continued to defy United Nations Security Council resolutions to come clean. He flouted the U.N.-sponsored Oil-for-Food program, diverting the money from its intended purpose.

    Critics quite properly accuse the U.S. intelligence community for failing to connect the dots and thus prevent 9/11. After the first Gulf War in 1991, the advanced nature of Saddam Hussein’s nuclear weapons program shocked intelligence analysts. Nuclear bomb testing in India and Pakistan came as a surprise, as did the advanced nature of Iran’s and Libya’s WMD programs. By all means, the U.S. intelligence failures call for serious soul-searching, and possibly housekeeping to improve accuracy.

    But, in the case of pre-war Iraq, the president’s critics suggest the following: Cross your fingers, hope for the best, and run the risk of another attack on American soil, this time possibly with chemical or biological weapons. No, the president acted upon the best available information and properly discharged his responsibility as commander-in-chief.

  8. Cao Says:

    So…is it your argument that Saddam Hussein was not a threat in any way, shape, or form? And that Clinton was ultimately wrong in 1997 & 1998 when he said that Iraq was a threat to America? And that the 12 other countries that verified and corroborated that intelligence LIED too? And that all the other Democrats on the Intelligence Committee who had access to the same exact intelligence as Bush misread or misunderstood the intellegence because they’re stupid? And that all the Democrats who voted FOR the war before they were against it are all brain-dead DUPES? And that they are were duped by a single man whom they have maligned as ignorant and STOOPID? Why, that would make Bush the most incredible genius – and the Democrats the most retarded morons! Even Hillary, whom I’ve heard people slaver over as being The Most Intelligent Woman In America *snort* has turned out to be a poor schmuckduped by a man you all dismiss as a dumb cowboy. How severely disappointing for you.

    So which is it? Is Bush a God of Cleverness and Intelligence and Hillary at el mere dumb dupes? Or are they changing their tune because they know dumb dupes like you will actually believe them?!

    Here’s a little trip down memory lane, much of which is before The Most Fearsomely Clever Man Who Ever Lived Because He Can Dupe ALL The Super-Smart Democrats became president:

    John Kerry said, soon after we attacked Afghanistan, that “this doesn’t end with Afghanistan by any imagination. . .It is absolutely vital that we continue for instance [after] Saddam Hussein.”

    “He [Saddam Hussein) has also given aid, comfort and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaeda members…this much is undisputed.” – Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D)

    Carl Levin stated on Dec. 12, 2001, “The war on terrorism will not be finished as long as [Saddam] is in power.”

    “It is clear however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons.” -Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D)

    Jay Rockefeller said in Oct. 2002, “I do believe that Iraq poses an imminent threat.”

    “Americans really need to understand the gravity and legitimacy of what is happening with Saddam Hussein. He has been given every opportunity in the world to comply…Saddam has not complied. Saddam Hussein is pursuing a program to build weapons of mass destruction.” -Senator John Forbes Kerry (D)

    “The best way to end the threat now is a new government in Iraq.” -President William Jefferson Clinton (D)

    “We have known for many years that Saddam is seeking to develop weapons of mass destruction.” -Senator Teddy hiccup Kennedy (D)

    “Certainly there’s a connection between Iraq and Al Qaeda.” -General (ret) Wesley Clark

    “I will be voting to give the President of the United Sates the authority if necessary to disarm Saddam because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our national security.” -Senator John F. Kerry (D)

    “There is no doubt that Saddam Hussein’s regime is a serious danger, and that he is a tyrant, and his pursuit of lethal weapons of mass destruction can not be tolerated. He must be disarmed.” -Senator Teddy Kennedy (D)

    “We are convinced that as long as Saddam Hussein remains in power he will continue to threaten the well being of his people, the peace of the region, and the security of the world.” -President William Jefferson Clinton (D)

    “Iraq’s search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to completely deter, and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam Hussein is in power.” -Al Gore (D)

    “I think Iraq is the most serious and imminent threat to our country, and I think Iraq and Saddam Hussein present the most serious and imminent threat.” -Senator John Edwards (D)

    “Saddam Hussein has demonstrated repeatedly that he will resort to terrorism or aggression if left unchecked.” -President Bill Clinton (D)

    “And he [Saddam Hussein] could make those weapons available to many terrorist groups which have contact with his government, and those groups could bring those weapons into the US and unleash a terrible attack on our citizens.” -Senator Jay Rockefeller (D)

    “Saddam Hussein’s regime represents a grave threat to America and our allies, including our vital ally Israel. For more than two decades Saddam has sought weapons of mass destruction through every available means. We know that he has chemical and biological weapons.” -Senator John Edwards (D)

    Oh, BTW, whatever happened to all those pesky WMDs anyways? Try listening to someone who would know: http://frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=20154

    (Thank you to Heidi for that unbelievably precious rant–I’m going to use it in the future when these nutcases come over here with that incoherent **** about Scooter Libby, etc.) Too bad they weren’t able to make a mountain out of a molehill and “impeach Bush” the way the Revolutionary Communist Party wanted to with their “drive out the Bush Regime” campaign.

  9. SSgt Yatahey Says:

    We can rest assured the Traitor has had his documents doctored, so that no one will ever know the truth — this particular Senator has way too much power! :evil:

    John “HANOI FONDA” Skerry is guilty of war crimes and lying to the people - he should be strung up in a tree; shot at sunrise; kicked in the nuts; and ran out of America along with:

    * Cindy Sheehan
    * Louis Farrakhan
    * Al Sharpton

  10. Scooter Libby Says:

    My dad told me once “two wrongs don’t make a right”

  11. Cao Says:

    That’s why Kerry turning his back on his comrads at arms and coming back leading the Vietnam Vets against the War and attending meetings where they conspired to kill Senators, his joining with Representative Harkin to back the communist Sandinistas in Nicaragua–and all of his other communist hand holding should not be ignored.

    As I recall…there’s a picture around here somewhere of him glad handing Noriega.

    You’re right. Looks like he’s already made the “wrongs”, let’s see if he can do something right–by delivering on the promise he made to the American people on the Tim Russert Show.

    We’re still waiting…and we’re not going to give up, no matter how loud idiots like you whine about it. Actually, the more you whine, the more determined I am. So keep it up! :smile:
