I was in awe of the picture on this page this morning…a view of snow on the ground and the mountains of Afghanistan through the windows of Pulacharke prison.

Last year our American political prisoners in Pulacharke had packages sent to them from family and friends. But this year, US Consul Addie Harchick took 21 Christmas packages sent from the US (she had already shipped them all back to the states once at taxpayer expense). Addie Harchick refused to allow our guys to receive their packages or ANY Christmas mail and cards.

Harchick claims it violates the Muslim religion, but the Muslims WANT to give it these guys. Harchick is demanding $400 “delivery fees” for her puke staff to bring it to them even though the Afghans offered to pick it up for free and even though Americans sent it to through the Afghan post office the second time around at great personal expense. Quite frankly, this is disgusting and Harchick should be sued, criminally charged with postal fraud, and expelled from the country. We can only hope she ******* for her Christmas present. The State Department is already being sued for this (click banner above) but that isn’t enough. Condi Rice needs a wakeup call. And people think the US government gives a damn about our people or our soldiers?

Someone asked me what patriotism means to me. Leftists continually play these definitional games, which I find irritating. Patriotism does not mean celebrating the deaths of American soldiers, and it doesn’t mean leaving Americans to rot in prison somewhere when the President clearly announced that this war on terror would be fought on many fronts. Idema and his men have been extremely useful and effective and Idema has come close to capturing Bin Laden 5 times.

Are we NOT hunting Bin Laden anymore? Seems as though we’re all about appeasing terrorists rather than fighting and killing them, which I think is what most folks who are pro WOT think the WOT is all about. Appeasement might be the new policy, but you can’t be pro-WOT and call appeasement a strategy to fight terrorism. Fighting to Preserve the American way of life, which the terrorists want to destroy–and supporting those who are fighting for our freedom-is the definition of Patriotism to me. Jack Idema lives it. God Bless him and the other Americans still being held at Pulacharke.
