Memorial Day Weekend 2006

By: Cao, Filed under: General @ 9:34 pm

A Media Player is required.

Here’s a movie I whipped up, I’m going to be out and about this weekend. So…whatever you do make sure you spend at least a few moments contemplating our war heroes this weekend. And…don’t drink and drive.

Update: GM Roper has some beautiful pictures of Memorials dedicated to our honored war heroes

R’cat has a lovely post in remembrance of our fallen heroes.

Pamela at Atlas Shrugs talks about an Auschwitz Memorial Day here.

California Conservative has a great Memorial Day post as well.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY TO ALL OF US VETS!

As a member of the Patriot Guard Riders — I’m proud to say that, the Governor of Indiana has invited 12 of the PGR Riders to lead the beginning of the Indy500 Race this year, and we consider that a very high honor.

The PGR is rapidly approaching 40,000 members nationwide, made up of people from all walks of life, who ride motorcycles to military funerals to keep the protestors away while the family buries their fallen military hero.

Membership is Free — all that we require is that you demonstrate RESPECT FOR OUR AMERICAN FALLEN MILITARY and everyone around you.

Semper Fi — have a happy; safe; and respectable Holiday weekend!

:mrgreen:That is great Arge, had know idea that you were a member of the Patriot Guard riders. It is a real shame that this country has gotten to this point that we have to take extreme measures against cowardly buffoons who aren’t deserving of any of our Constitution! But,it is good to know to let the Anti-American crowd now that they don’t get off so easily anymore, and that our fallen servicemembers and their families dignity can be protected from stupidity and shallowness! My dad said he had been thinking about some of his fallen brothers too,and of course the wons such as yourserlf that survived,God bless all of you, magistrates, which is what you were and are,are giving plenty of praise and respect,as a ministers who keep law and order.I hope you have a great memorial day weekend.I certainly haven’t forgotten what our ancestors did to make us free, and the rest of the country should be reminded as well!Freedom and prosperity isn’t free!

  8. Redhead Infidel Says:

Cao, that was beautiful. I admit I cried. Heartfelt tributes to our military always reduce me to mush.

  9. Cao Says:

Thank you all. And Heidi, I value your opinion very much, and coming from you, I consider that a high compliment. After I put it together I watched it several times and had no reaction. But this morning I viewed it again…and I cried, too.

I think I accomplished what I set out to with that.

God bless them all and their families, Cao.

I watched this video yesterday, and was tearing up and it showed what the real meaning of memorial day is supposed to be about! It is too bad that our government from the President on down, seem to hav forgotten what essential liberty is.It is too bad that the Congress didn’t view “United 93″ the ingrates, wouldn’t be here today if wasn’t for those good people on that plane, and now their memories are being spat upon!and now Vicente Fox shows his scrawny and arrogant *** here in the country, thinking he is the boss.We have men that are dying in the GWOT and the thanks that our men and women get from sorry excuses of government officials our sovereignty being sold away from up under us!But,there is still hope,we have people who are constantly warning us!and now it is up to “We the People”for real now!

  22. Mike's America Says:

    Cao: Very excellent!

They sang “The Mansions of the Lord” at the Arlington National Cemetary remembrance. And of course you know it was part of the Reagan funeral at the National Cathedral.

But perhaps more than the music, the words of John Stuart Mill speak to our time and throughout history:

“War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing is worth a war, is much worse….
A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. As long as justice and injustice have not terminated their ever-renewing fight for ascendancy in the affairs of mankind, human beings must be willing, when need is, to do battle for the one against the other.”
