Military Computers Blocked To Northeast Intelligence Network Site
The government is crazy for blocking international computers (including military computers) from seeing the NEIN website. There are active military personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan who have been taking advantage of the intel there. Aren’t our boys who are standing directly in harm’s way deserving of as much information as possible?
This is from Doug Hagmann, the owner of the NEIN website:
26 October 2004–The United States Department of Defense, using “Smart Filter” Internet content blocking, has now blocked all access to the Northeast Intelligence Network, labeling our site as “extreme.”
Once again, the Northeast Intelligence Network will make a formal appeal to the Bush administration and the Department of Defense for their assistance and intervention so the members of our military can again access our information.
Recent Letter from a U.S. Military Commander Stationed in Iraq:
To the Northeast Intelligence Network:
My name is Captain [REDACTED] and I am currently deployed with the [REDACTED] Division located in Baghdad, Iraq. First let me state that the information you post on your website is an excellent source of Intel. I visit your website daily in order to ensure I have the latest information not typically disseminated throughout the command. The translated documents and articles provide us with the insight we need to truly assess our current threat level…
[REDACTED]
Captain, US Army
[REDCTED]Division
Despite many similar e-mails, access to our website is currently being blocked by military computers.
NOTE: In accordance with Title 17 U.S.C. section 107, this material is distributed without profit or payment to those who have expressed a prior interest in receiving this information for non-profit research and educational purposes only.

Cao - it’s not crazy; but, I can tell you there are some specific reasons for this; of which I cannot tell you or anyone else at this time.

Gotcha, Classified. Pisses me off, though.

Jeez, Louise — it’s so damn classified, I had a hard time getting the info, even with my Top-Secret clearance … can’t believe the **** I’ve seen!

I have noticed that the entire site is being blocked, and I’m here in America. Try accessing the NEIN. Any idea what happened?

N.E.I.N. is a bunch of hooey! Douglas Haggman and his cronys are a bunch of wannabe spooks. All the guy ever does is miss. You all heard of the marketing stunt that happened in Boston today? Well this nut, Haggman is going to go on George Noory’s radio show to claim that he has intimate knowledge that it was really a botched terrorist act. His top analyst his some kid who’s never been in the service, no formal training but is qualified by Haggan to make credible intel analysis. Quit wasting your time with this guy.

I take it that this is a dead site?
