Let’s look at this idea. I’ve been thinking about this for some time now. In May, 2002, Madonna had a stalker that got too close. In 1980, Mark David Chapman murdered John Lennon on the sideawalk outside The Dakota in New York. John Hinckley tried to assassinate Ronald Reagan to get Jodie Foster’s attention. These are just a few of the reports of stalkers and what they do. I also recall stories of stalkers breaking into celebrity’s homes. Celebrity stalkers are not necessarily nice people who wish well on the object of their desire. It seems to me that what Joe Cafasso is…is someone who is so envious of what Jack is doing and has done in terms of the media–and also the fact that in spite of a lot of people having been ‘onto’ him since he represented hismelf as a special forces soldier and a representative of the insurance lobby back in 1999–his credentials are all fake.

A question that has been plagueing me is what drives a person to do the kinds of vicious things that Cafasso has done to people? Jack Idema hasn’t been the only one to find himself a target for Joe Cafasso.

Here’s a piece called “Stalking the Stalker” which gave me some insight into the mind of someone whose entire life is about destroying people. The saying goes ‘misery loves company’, and to me, Joe Cafasso’s picture should be in the dictionary next to ‘celebrity stalker’, as he is the eptiome of the definition of a celebrity stalker, the more I discover about the mentality of someone who is capable of doing this kind of thing.

For many reasons, stalking behaviors are quite diverse. Stalkers may ambush their targets, phone repeatedly, pursue or follow their targets, make obscene or threatening phone calls, display weapons, trespass, or vandalize property. (9) They may send numerous letters, deliver unwanted gifts, or restrain or confine the objects of their obsessions. As a means of controlling the behavior of their targets, stalkers may threaten to commit suicide or harm the victims, the victims’ families, or even the victims’ pets. Perpetrators may attempt to limit the amount of contact targets have with their families and friends and may insist on knowing the whereabouts of targets and what they are doing at all times. What they all have in common, however, is a persistent pattern of unwanted behaviors that interfere with other persons’ abilities to control their own lives.

A relatively new form of stalking, cyberstalking, uses computers to stalk individuals and may take the form of electronic mail, faxes, or harassment in Internet chat rooms. For example, in one recent incident, a woman in San Francisco received about 1,500 pages of e-mails and faxes over a 2-month period that threatened her life and those of her children. Governmental authorities find it difficult to estimate how many individuals are victims of cyber-stalking, although they also note that the number of complaints concerning this type of unwanted contact have increased in recent years. In addition, such cases prove hard to prosecute successfully. (10)

From what I gather about this man, he is not beyond using violence against people to exert control over them, and he most certainly has used the cyberstalking technique.

In stalking cases, a precipitating event occurs 80 percent of the time. (11) Such situations may include the breakup of a relationship, the loss of a job, the death of a parent, or the onset of a serious illness. Stalkers may blame their victims, and their actions may result from anger associated with the initial incident.

In my opinion, Joe Cafasso blames Jack Idema for his getting fired from Fox and being ‘outted’, even though numerous people were ‘onto’ him as a fraud from as far back as 1999. Still, Joe needs to transfer the guilt he might feel for his unsavory behavior onto someone else, so he can look himself in the mirror at night.

Clearly, the phenomenon of stalking represents a unique nexus between psychiatry and psychology on the one hand and law enforcement on the other. “There is no single profile of a stalker…. Stalkers exhibit a broad range of behaviors, motivations, and psychological traits.” (22) As a consequence, several typologies have emerged from the literature, each containing two to three categories, based typically on some form of personality disorder. For example, research has found that some stalkers have an “attachment disorder,” stemming from abandonment in early childhood and resulting in the inability to maintain normal relationships as adults. In addition, many stalkers have a narcissistic personality in which individuals have an inflated sense of self-worth and a need for others to focus on them. (23)

Here’s a letter from Joe that further demonstrates the point. He it put up at Stuporpatriots, claiming responsibility for putting Jack in prison (apparently not satisfied with not getting the credit), and also in his relentless campaign against me with complaints to my employer for supporting Jack, and alleged supposed defamatory statements I’ve made. Interesting how he makes that claim but he provides no evidence to back that up.

He even dragged Kathryn Cramer into his campaign against Idema, although she didn’t realize (apparently) who he was, because he was calling himself Lt Col. Gerry Blackwood at the time. I think her reputation for being a good ‘researcher’ should be seriously bismirched by this chain of events, although she’s gone to great lengths to hide this at her blog. Obviously her talent for ‘research’ went MIA when this man entered her life. Some questions should be raised about how that could have happened, and what motivated her to accept what he was saying about his background at face value without looking into it.

A Personal Letter to Jack Idema….

Hi Jack! Enjoying prison? You are getting everything you deserve plus some. Let it be known that it was never Ed Artis nor Bob Morris who had you hunted down and arrested but just little old me. And if there is anything else I can do to make sure you serve out your prison term I will. We both come from the same cut Jack, except what I was doing was not for fame and glory unlike you.

As far as I am concerned you need an extension ladder to crawl out of the gutter. I know for a fact you are as about as phoney as they come. You see Jack I have perosnal letters from the so-called Generals you worked with basically saying you were full of it and were never an advisor to the Northern Front. The evidence against you is just overwhelming. Please send a Carabolla TV crew to me so I can have all of this documented. Talk about Edward Carabolla and Ted Kavanagh… You just love to use people Jack especially those in there 70’s and 80’s. Just like you used Robin Moore. How do you sleep nights?

Yes Jack I know it was Ted Kavanagh who hired John Tiffany. I know it was Ted Kavanagh who got Peter Bergen to lower his standards and write about you. Please have Peter Bergen contact me I would just love to sit down with him and show him what I got! You have to wonder why CNN, CBS, MSNBC and the rest of the Networks will have nothing to do with you? They know the truth! How many reporters can you threaten Jack? How many people can you defame?

Those of us who know the truth on how you scammed the US Embassy in Tashkent know the real Jack Idema. You have caused many people harm in the past and now your getting yours in return. So what do you and Ms. Thomas do since you can’t show any evidence? Defame others. Nice try Jack! But you are too well known for this tactic. Please come home soon I am waiting for the day you return so I can drag you into court and prove once and for all just how much your full of it.

As far as Ms. Thomas here is concerned it was also me who wrote to and called Allstate Insurance having you banned from using Allstate Computers to defame others. Yes Ms. Thomas I was at Tribeca to see the opening of “Beyond the Call”. A story about real American Hero’s.. Not like you Jack… Not like the dream and lie you live but three guys who shoes you could never fill.

Ms. Thomas. To bad the guy with the eye patch was not me. But I was proudly standing next to him for a while. Believe me it was my honor.. Again Ms. Thomas you speak without knowledge just because you enjoy propelling a lie as in Jack Idema.

So Jack why not just do what everyone has asked? Get a certified letter from the Army Inspector Generals Office shutting me up? Never going to happen Jack…. and I will never shut about about you. That’s because your full of it Jack. And everyone from Robin Moore to the SFA knows it. This is also the reason why you can’t prove anything in Court because if you could you would not be where you are right now. And you would have had standing in the Fox News Lawsuit. A law suit you have repeatedly lost. BTW Jack how much money do you owe some of the other parties? I laugh at you calling everyone else frauds while you are in prison now twice buying the services you now use.

Remember one thing Jack it was me who had that Detain On Sight Order come out and it was me who helped put you away. This was for the many you have hurt in the past.

So Jack while you once again seem to be enjoying the privileges of a Sat Phone to throw the BS around of which you and Mr. Tiffany just love to propel enjoy it while it lasts.

Enjoy Prison that is where you belong and where you will end up back in the States.

Joe Cafasso

Love the spelling errors! It’s great the way he talks about ‘defaming others’ when he’s been the primary culprit in that game. What he’s objecting to is losing his job at Fox. What he’s not willing to own up to is his lying to the public, to Congress, and many other entities since at least 1999–long before anything happened with Jack in Afghanistan. It’s no secret that Special Forces personnel and Navy Seals hate posers, how long did he think he could ingratiate himself in with that community before someone blew the whistle and his entire charade went down the crapper?

And I love the way he takes absolutely no responsibility for his own ridiculous behavior and transfers that responsibility onto everyone else. Joe Cafasso aka Gerry Blackwood is a loser all by himself with nobody’s help. It’s a strict case of ‘do as I say and not as I do’ and the leftist idea that the law doesn’t apply to people on their side of the ideological aisle, and the twisted concept that anyone would even bother to listen to him now.

What’s even more is it seems pretty obvious this guy has come totally unhinged.

He can deny he’s been masquerading as Lt. Col. Gerry Blackwood all he wants, that doesn’t change the facts. Facts which he vehemently denies while he’s on this destructive rampage.

And plenty of ‘proof’ has gone up at Superpatriots and everywhere else. Just because you don’t acknowledge it exists doesn’t mean it doesn’t. Cafasso is living in a fantasy world, just like Kathryn Cramer, that’s why it seems they were meant for each other, and that’s why she didn’t question his credentials, apparently. She was swept up in his facade of mystery and intrigue.

This should be instructive for the police departments and FBI who are looking at this:

When victims present complaints of harassing and threatening behaviors, officers always should ask whether these behaviors have occurred previously, so as to develop the pattern of behaviors necessary to sustain stalking charges. If officers ask these questions in all cases involving potential charges of harassment, terroristic threats, and violations of restraining orders, it is possible that, in some situations, interventions could help prevent later domestic violence.

There is definitely a pattern here. Here is a guy that just can’t let it go. Jack has been in prison in Afghanistan since 2004; Joe can’t seem to let it drop and continues railing about him, obsessing about him, and trying every which way he can to discredit him. This is not the mark of a reasonable sentient person; this is the mark of someone obsessed, who in my opinion, fits the profile of a stalker.

I do think it’s time law enforcement got involved, (if they aren’t already). It’s time to shut this guy down permanently so he doesn’t hurt anyone else.

Get a clue, Joe, countering lies with facts is not defamation.
