Because of pollution, global warming, and overfishing.

(11-02) 17:04 PST — The world’s oceans are under increasing assault from overfishing, pollution and global warming that threatens to wipe out vital fisheries and create a crisis for human food supplies before the middle of this century, an international team of scientists is warning.

Let’s get out our bullshit meters on this one!

Wow, guess the value of my goldfish just went up!

Can you prove otherwize?? if you can’t then what makes your opinion worth a darn.

    From icSouthlondon:

Warnings that fish stocks may collapse by 2048 have been condemned as an unrealistic “doomsday prediction”.

I should say that it seems as though the chicken little environmentalists are working overtime trying to find ways to regulate the hell out of EVERYTHING, which is kind of the point of my laughing over it. Environmentalists are scared about everything, that’s why so many of them are vegans who wonder if their carrots cry when they chop them up.

The projection is way too pessimistic, at least for the United States,” said Steven Murawski, chief scientist for the National Marine Fisheries Service.

From the socialists at the Guardian

Seafish, the UK seafood industry body, and the Scottish Fishermen’s Federation (SFF) said the study does not deal with reality or note continuing attempts to protect fish stocks.

The SFF chief executive, Bertie Armstrong, said the report was “superficial”: “It takes a ridiculously long timescale and does not mention the efforts being made in Europe to recover stocks as quickly as we can.”

Mr Armstrong said the study’s authors made no mention of the 1992 Johannesburg convention, when world environment leaders agreed to try to restore fish stocks to sustainable levels by 2015.

“The main difficulty with this article is that it has taken a lot of basic assumptions and come out with the bold statement that there will be no fish by 2048,” he said.

“It is a doomsday prediction that ignores the reality of what the world is actually trying to do to remove the ills that it describes.” The government paid heed to today’s research, which reports that under current trends, almost 30% of fished species populations had already reached tipping point.

So go ahead and sneer, but I think your reaction to my post is kind of funny, reactionary, and is designed to put me on the defensive simply because it would appear you believe everything you read. But if you can prove what these tree hugging idiots are saying about the environment, global warming, and all that other stuff when they do nothing about the pollution generated by developing nations, I just have to wonder.

I have to wonder about the environmental alarmism that comes from the likes of Mother Jones and Al Gore and seems to be absent elsewhere.

Wasn’t it Al Gore who invented the internet?

I would say that your opinion is worthless if all you can do is heckle. I’m entitled to mine, no matter what you say; but your objections are kind of silly and make me laugh. Thanks.

Oh, and one more thing. otherwize? Do you own a dictionary?
