sunday otb
It’s Sunday, folks, say a prayer for Jack and Brent, that they’ll be kept safe and alive until that one day soon when he’ll be released.

C’mon and trackback! Put up a post that you think deserves some special attention from this past week.
Watch for Open Trackbacks here on Fridays, Sundays and Wednesdays.
Here’s the link:

Here is the trackback link to this post:
http://caosblog.com/3948/trackback/
To trackback to any post just use the post slug or “permalink” and add trackback/ to the end of it.
One other thing.
I will be deleting trackbacks when the posts don’t show that you’ve linked here. Make sure you do as I did, below–either saying thanks to Cao’s blog and linking to this post, or mention that I have a trackback party, and link to this post. Otherwise the trackback will be deleted.
If you are unable to send trackbacks, then use the Wizbang Standalone Trackback Pinger.

Deniable Agent: Undercover in Afghanistan
And so it would seem Jack Idema’s tale pulls under the US government’s heading of ‘plausible deniability’, with the release of this blockbuster book which is our version of it here in the UK. You wonder why it is that I am not inclined to be retice…

Afternoon, Cao. I read your comment over at Jo’s about devastating spam. I recently added the new Bad Behavior to go along with Akismet. I was getting anywhere from 50-100 spams, mostly tb’s, an hour on my little site. Now I might get 1-2 an hour. Which is good as I can see legit TB’s and comments which go into Akismet.
I also have Peter’s custom anti spam for comments. very easy to use and customize, and I might get 1 spam comment a month.

Hi, Bill, thanks for stopping in. I just installed Akismet this morning after Jo sent me an email and your suggestion here. What would I do without the wonderful people in the blogsphere? I thought I was installing Spam Karma, it actually said SK2 - Akismet seems comparable and I can’t believe the difference. I have over 32,000 trackback spams in the queue and nothing has come through since. Now I look forward to time spent actually writing and doing other things as I have my own time back, it looks like, thanks to these wonderful suggestions! Thanks so much for the comment.

Take that Cuba

SK2 works pretty good, as well. I would turn that on when Akismet was getting beaten up.
If it gets up there again, definately try Bad Behavior.
Lot easier to blog when you aren’t spending most of your time cleaning spam

Why “libel tourism” is a serious matter
Britain may be slowly sinking towards dhimmitude, but that doesn’t mean we should allow certain of their unholy practices to determine the future of countries abroad.

Kissinger says No victory in Iraq
Former Secretary of State, and noted butcher of the English language, Henry Kissinger stated publicly that a military victory in Iraq is not possible.
