hanging video, uncut
Justin at Right on the Right has the entire thing. The entire hanging video of Saddam Hussein. Grainy, taken on a cell phone, and from below the scaffold where he’s standing.
Well it appears as though Justin’s site went down - it couldn’t handle the traffic from people trying to view it. (His site came back up after I went offline last night, but I’m leaving this here now that it’s up) So…I was trying to avoid this, but I’m putting it up. I’m not responsible for people hyperventilating or puking in their shoes, so if you can’t stand gore then don’t click on this thing.
Someone at Hot Air has a transcription of what they’re talking about.
This doesn’t look very ‘official’…
Drudge gets the kudos for the scoop
Jo at Jo’s Cafe has a post called “Butcher of Baghdad Executed” where she reflects on her reaction and the reaction she’s observed.
No elation.
No joy.
No saddness.
His maker has him now.
This is not the first execution that Iraq has conducted over the last year since it was re-established. Reports are they’ve had over 100.
Actually, I think there WAS elation. I’ll look and see if I can find that vid of the Iraqis dancing and celebrating. I gather they danced over his body, too. These are muslims in Dearborn, Michigan celebrating his death.
And - when can we get 30 days from conviciton to execution time in the United States?
That’s a good question. Bin Laden is right; we’ve turned soft.

The Telegraph are reporting that Saddam’s jailors didn’t let him get a good night’s sleep before the hanging … Well, what can I say? You pour mustard gas on other people’s children and that’s what you get. Heh.

As much as they’re trying to portray him as a courageous martyr, I gather that he struggle with them at first. Then, he regained his composure. One or two headlines which were altered right away said he was ‘hanged with fear in his face’.
Security adviser Mowaffak al-Rubaie said “He was a broken man,” al-Rubaie said. “He was afraid. You could see fear in his face.”

I was glad to see they released the video for the whole world to see!
Too bad America can’t do the same to all of the jackasses we have sitting on Death Row for 20+ years, filing their appeals — it pisses me off everytime I think about our tax dollars supporting them, while they clog the judicial system with wasted appeals; enjoy color TV; and are allowed access to telephones and computers!

Hopefully some people will be re-thinking how soft we’ve become on some issues. The area in Babylon is relatively famous for its strict code of justice; the Code of the Hammurabi is ancient, and doesn’t allow for excuses which is what we’ve allowed to creep into our justice system.

I think what Saddam did was wrong, but this is still a sad video to watch. We have all done wrong things, and we have all sinned against God. And because of that, we ALL deserve to die and spend eternity apart from our Creator. If YOU died TODAY, do you know FOR SURE where YOU will spend eternity? All roads lead to God, but where will you go from there? EVERYBODY has eternal life, where will you spend yours? Call (800) NEED-HIM. “As it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment…” (Hebrews 9:27-28).

All roads don not lead to God. I am certain that Saddam’s road led straight to hell.
I would say that few could claim the sadistic things that Saddam did in his life. But what’s worse is-he taught his sons to do those things; falaqua, putting cigarettes out on people, chopping off their hands and or feet, putting them in baths of acid and then dipping them in raw sewage to make sure the would die a slow agonizing death of infection…torturing people. Just for the ‘fun’ of it. That is what his regime did; but I would say that all of those people are sick; you can tell by the pleasure they got out of taunting him when he was about to die.
“Mistakes” are not what Saddam made, he had no regrets, you can see that there.

“What goes around, comes around” Saddam like any other dictator deserved more than hanging.
