Amanda Marcotte resigned!

By: Cao, Filed under: Demonrats , General @ 2:47 am

heh! After having read some of the vicious vitriolic spew over at Pandagon and wondering what in the hell the Edwards campaign could think they have to GAIN from having Marcotte on board, it’s rather bewildering. I mean…didn’t the Edwards campaign just recently announce that everything is a-okay and that Marcotte would REMAIN as a blogger for his campaign?

Jeff at Protein Wisdom:

Ms Marcotte blames the Catholic League’s Bill Donohue for her troubles, but in truth, her anti-religious screeds (she calls them “anti-theocracy”—though the distinction seems rather disingenuous, given that her attacks tend to target religious people who actually believe the tenets of their faith), once exposed, offended more than just the perpetually aggrieved and controversial religious politico. In fact, as Kirsten Powers noted on tonight’s “O’Reilly Factor,” Marcotte and McEwan’s pronouncements on religion were going to make it difficult for Edwards in particular (and Democrats more generally) to convince people of faith that the Democratic party isn’t hostile to their beliefs.

And this of course brackets completely her pronouncements on the people of North Carolina, and her continued attacks on the Duke 3.

The rest of Marcotte’s resignation announcement decries attacks on her free speech—which is, of course, absurd. It was her choice to step down; the government didn’t demand she do so. And coming from someone who routinely deletes comments that challenge her worldview—both on Pandagon and during her brief stint working for Edwards—the charge is doubly ironic.

Marcotte, the typical liberal victim, doesn’t see any connecton between her behavior and the consequences to her behavior, throwing the blame for her resignation over onto Bill Donohue of the Catholic League. Dan Riehl points out

This may be the closest a secular progressive feminist ever comes to having a religious experience!

All people claiming to be good Christians who agitated for me to be fired, one question:

Who would Jesus witchhunt(sic)?

Think hard before answering, assholes.

Boy do I feel sorry for people who are this irreverent, stupid and rude and aren’t bright enough to realize how this looks to a rational person.

This is simply a matter of the chick going down in her own flames.

Heh. Kind of a twist, isn’t it? She wasn’t fired, she was publicly chastised When you get right down to it, they just can’t stand the truth, or the heat they bring onto themselves.
