Gateway Pundit points out that the new video is the old video. Al Jazeera says it was filmed in October of 1001. I guess it just came out. So Al Qaeda is running SUMMER RERUNS?

CAIRO, Egypt - A new al-Qaida videotape posted Sunday on a militant Web site featured a short, undated clip of a weary-looking Osama bin Laden praising martyrdom.

Big words from an old tired rerun, heh? People are supposed to get all psyched, hot and bothered and askeered, I guess. Their ‘production wing’ doesn’t have a whole lot to work with, I guess, now that Zarqawi and others have bit the dust. Zarqawi was too vicious and ruined their public image with the Nick Berg beheading video and other such items, but you’ve got to hand it to that dead guy, while he was alive, he sure had a way of getting our attention.

Unlike the sorry men in a cave today, who only seem to be able to produce 6-year-old sound bytes. Of course, people are trying to figure out what it MEANS. What does it MEAN? Does the Red Mosque stuff going on in Pakistan have anything to do with this?

WHO CARES. I’m more interested in why Bin Laden has the pakol on, and why other people seem to have missed it. I would think, because the video was taken in October 2001, just a month after Massoud’s murder on September 9, 2001, that he is making some kind of a statement - that he is ruling now, or that he has made a conquest over the Northern Alliance.

Bin Laden will never get rid of Massoud’s legacy of ideas, and his dream for Afghanistan that lives on in young Afghanistanis like Fahim and others, even though Karzai and what’s happened with the Taliban in that country has been a horrible disappointment.

Laura Mansfield has the translation. The clip is 50 seconds long…you can see it at the link above at Gateway Pundit, too. I’m trying to figure out the significance of the date. They’re saying that this is the anniversary date of when the Crusaders captured Jerusalem in 1099. But why the pakol, then?

This is Massoud in his signature Pakol. Massoud was murderered by Osama Bin Laden’s minions on 9/9, two days before 9/11.

Now this is the picture of Osama Bin Laden wearing Massoud’s pakol, and I’m offended.

Gateway Pundit was talking about this as a TURBAN. It doesn’t look like one to me.
