I love a long bath

This is a little out of character for me to talk about here, but I stumbled across a great find on Amazon today, and I just HAVE to get this out of my system.

I have always been a girl who likes a nice, hot bath. My mom used to take a bath and I just loved how she smelled when she came out of the bathtub with her hair swept up in a beautiful thick white towel, twisted up, in her robe…it was clean. It was fresh. It was dial soap.

I like any number of fragrances in my bath. But today I came across a revelation in bath time luxury. First, I can make my own bath salts.

But the recipes for bath salts aren’t what have me intrigued: it’s this company called LUSH. And it’s all over the world, apparently. Why haven’t I heard of it before? God only knows!

Now I don’t know a lot about it, but I gather the products are handmade, and have very fresh wonderful ingredients. So fresh, in fact, that there is a disclaimer on a few of the products - that the shelf life is only FOUR MONTHS.

Here are a few of the little goodies I ordered today.

Godiva Shampoo Bar

Because I’m going to be travelling some over the next few months, I thought I’d purchase a few things I can throw in my bag that aren’t subject to the liquids scare they have going with the airplane flights. This one has a jasmine fragrance that I need to try. It’s a two-fer: both a shampoo and conditioner in one. So if it works well, I won’t have to worry about shampoo and conditioner, just bring my Godiva bar.

There are so many products I’d like to try, but one of the next items I grabbed was a collection of bath bombs. A bath bomb is something that explodes in your tub, fizzes, and might let loose with some glitter, or some rose petals, and finally calms down to infuse the air with wonderful fragrance from essential oils.

I couldn’t help but treat myself to a collection of them to give them a try.
41ki00kpbxl._aa280_.jpgthis is the ‘anything but ordinary’ gift set, which includes six great bombs. the bath bombs almost look like ice cream, and i’m sure by the descriptions they’re delicious. they have clever names for the bath bombs - the six in this collection are called avobath, big blue, blackberry, honey bee, sex bomb and still life. the three that i was particularly interested in were big blue, avobath and sex bomb. big blue is a collection of things that are designed to remind you of the ocean. it has lavender and lemon and swirls of seaweed, and colors the water a deep blue. avobath colors the water green, and has lemongrass, bergamot and rosewood essential oils with a touch of glitter, and also treats the skin with olive oil and avocado. i’m telling you, i can’t wait to get these in my bathtub. sex bomb was the third i was interested in, and just about ordered extras just for the helluvit before i even did a test drive. it’s described as an “aphrodisiac of a bath bomb with jasmine, clary sage and ylang ylang…”

And the last thing I couuldn’t resist trying was at LEAST one shower jelly. It’s like one of those jels on TV, only you put it in the freezer, and use it for the bath or shower. Many of these products will melt in the hot weather, so I’ve taken a risk that this will come intact.

22371.jpgthis one is called “whoosh”. it has lemon, grapefruit, lime and rosemary, and is meant to give you a ‘lift’. Like in the morning after I spent too much time on the computer the night before…! I thought this one would be an interesting one to try. But…it looks to me as though I will easily get hooked on these things, and have to try some of the other things they have available - and there is a lot.

One of the great things about these - especially the Godiva shampoo bar, is that a little goes a long way, according to the customer comments. So I look forward to trying these out and sharing how I liked them later on.

Make sure you try “sonic death monkey”. It smells like chocolate and citris - tangerine or orange. It’s intoxicating…!!!
