damned social networking site - Quechup sucks
For all those who received an invitation that looked like it was from me, please BEWARE. Quechup picked up all the addresses in my address book and is spamming them all with invitations.
I should know better; but I see there are a lot of other people who’ve fallen for this.
Originally my invitation looked as though it came from Stacy Harp. Stacy, I’ll bet the same thing happened to you as happened to me!

The only legitimate networking website I know of is LinkedIn, and it rocks. It is not by invitation only, but once you are on it, you can invite others to “link up to you”. It is very professional, and the company I contract through has a “group” on LinkedIn. The one you encountered sounds like a scam… thanks for the heads up!

I’m already on linkedin - I love the social networking sites…that’s why the quechup thing became an immediate disappointment, although I have not discontinued my membership in it yet.

I do appreciate the warning, as I tend to radiate to that sort of site since I do contracting. Networking is an important part of that. It makes me so mad that there are so many scammers out there lying in wait!

Cao — thanks for the warning; I did get the alleged email from you and deleted it without opening it up!

Cao, yes the EXACT same thing happened, and I did not say that I wanted anyone in my email contacted. Then 24 hours later all the weirdest contact in my email were spammed by Queechup, and guess what, even after I totally deleted my account, it did the same thing.
So I changed my gmail password so there’s no more access. And of course, I’ve written all the people I’ve annoyed, well they have annoyed and told them it was spammed. Glad I’m not alone in this, and Quechup needs to be reported.
