Fugitive fundraiser Hsu ‘freaked out’ on train, witness says -San Francisco Chronicle

Fugitive political fundraiser Norman Hsu was behaving erratically as he fled the Bay Area on Amtrak’s California Zephyr, at one point stripping off his shirt and shoes, before paramedics were called to take him off the train in western Colorado, passengers said Friday.

Hsu, 56, on the run for the second time from a 1992 grand theft conviction in San Mateo County, was arrested Thursday after the paramedics took him to a hospital from the train station in Grand Junction, Colo. A spokesman at St. Mary’s Hospital said Friday night that Hsu was in fair condition but would not say what was wrong with him.

Yeah, because of the “privacy” policy doctors and hospitals have to live into nowadays. This is where doctors are not allowed to tell other patients, or the press-what is going on with someone. Gone are the days when they have press conferences about the health of officials, or their progress after operations, etc.-They’re not allowed to talk about it.

next, we have mike nifong, the notorious prosecutor for the duke rape case, thrown in jail for contempt. -new york times the ‘contempt’ jail sentence is a pittance-a 24-hour contempt sentence for withholding dna evidence exonerating the la crosse players. this seems to me to be a small price to pay for ruining the lives of the kids and their families…nifong was a rogue prosecutor, and although he’s been disbarred, he took the lives of innocent men and used them for political advantage. some claim he’s ‘learned his lesson’, but that remains to be seen, the damage is done.

Next, Luciano Pavarotti died this past Thursday in his home on Modena’s outskirts after battling pancreatic cancer for more than a year. He was 71. His body lay in state at Modena cathedral as the world mourns his passing. Funeral is supposed to be today. I’ve seen pictures of some of his children from his first marriage, and pictures of him and his very young wife (40-ish). The two of them have a 4-year old child. This picture shows his young widow crying next to the hearse carrying his very large coffin.

Steve Fossett went missing on another adventure… He didn’t file a flight plan, so nobody knows where he intended to go…he took off Monday morning from a ranch in Nevada in a single-engine Citabria aircraft, an aerobatics plane. He had planned to return by noon, and was reported missing Monday night.
