My friend Rick and I are in very much the same boat; we’ve each talked about sitting it out when election day arrives because the GOP has been pitiful in terms of presenting their constituents with a candidate that we can support.

With that all said, though, I know, and we Wide Awakes have known, that we are at a crossroads in this country, similar to that which we faced during the Civil War. Back when we started the Wide Awakes, that was what we had in mind…and what we were looking at. A horrible time when the democrats are looking to sympathize with terrorists and put up the white flag, like they did with the communists during Vietnam. We need to fight the enemy in every which way we can at this point; and not withdraw like cowards.

That is true with this election cycle.

I think Fred Thompson is the closest we can get to what it is we’re looking for in the choices we have. And we’d damned well start fighting to win this thing, because we certainly don’t want a democrat/socialist running the country, particularly the one with the witch’s wicked laugh.

So…I’m asking on behalf of Fred’s campaign, for some help.
