Berkeley and its Code Pink handlers
Karl from Leaning Straight Up has the whole 4-hour Berkeley City Council Meeting on video. I’m going to post the segments he uploaded to youtube, with much thanks, along with some of the narrative he sent along.
The resolution asking the Marines to leave is Item 12. It was not called to the floor for discussion. Isn’t it customary to have a discussion on a resolution? Instead, they just put it on there as part of the Constant Calendar. The debate was about the parking permit and fee waivers for Code Pink, which was called Item 15.
Karl created 5 clips from the 4-hour meeting, all included here.
Council member Olds spoke against item 12 and recorded her no vote. She observes that Berkeley wouldn’t dare recognize that the Marine Corps “does anything good”.
Don’t we hear it a lot…that “they can’t get real jobs or go to college so they join the Marines.” It’s as if they don’t have any choice. But as I’ve experienced, they don’t railroad kids, and they bring their families into the decisionmaking process. Not that loonbats care at all.
Karl observes:
Of course, since the office they are protesting is an Officers Recruiting Center, that is pure nonsense, as they are specifically looking for college graduates.
The second clip is a very strong and rational rebuttal to Item 15, the parking resolution, made by the only member to vote against it, Council Member Wozniak. As it was rational, it was mostly ignored.
Third up is the Code Pink people and their supporters speaking in favor of the measure.
Fourth is an ironic collage Karl put together about the Noise issue, and the impact to the surrounding area. The titling is fairly simple, but the point is made.
Finally the other Council members speak, including one whose wife is a member of Code Pink. No conflict of interest there!!!
This is how people can draw the conclusion that the City Council and its decisions are in effect being driven and controlled by Code Pink.
It’s sad to hear a former Marine turn so far left. The moonbattery, cluelessness and stupidity screams out from these clips!
Please spread them around, and of course, with attribution to Karl at Leaning Straight Up.
The members of the Council clearly realize the precedent they have created by showing this favoritism. I suggest we exploit it, and demand a counter protest park spot next to theirs. And since they hate Hummers so bad, let’s make a Hum Vee Parade.
Sounds like a great idea! Because not only are these loons leftists, they’re GREEN leftists, and use the environment to stand in the way of military drills and other things - like the Navy Sonar used for training exercises-that environmentalists have stopped because of how it would disturb the whales and other underwater wildlife.
National Security is never their concern, which is to our detriment, and scares the hell out of me.

Code Stink needs a 13 Step Program too!!!! They act like they have a collective IQ of 60 and they want to imply Marines aren’t intelligent??? I’d put my well being in the hands of a smart thinking Marine any day, over some dingbat Code Stinker.

Marxism should be illegal. The fact that we welcome this sort of thing as ‘free speech’ has me very worried.

Actually, it is the part of Democracy that bites us in the butt as a nation Cao. Freedom for all means even Marxist’s have the right to speak out in our society. That wouldn’t bother me so much but it’s the PC people who tell Americans they don’t have the right to speak their minds about “other cultures” that want to destroy us; and the threat of being imprisoned for standing against Islamofacist and the Marxists in our society that worries me. It has become terribly slanted against our forefathers dream.

Check out the Congress critters making a point with the Semper Fi Act.
Talk about a hot poker up from the “south” to get your attention.

I wrote my Congressman and both Senators yesterday asking them to support the Semper Fi Act. You know the earmark they are talking about withdrawing from Berkley was designated to fund “Gourmet organic high end lunches” for moonbat school kids!!!!
*****
One earmark provides $243,000 in taxpayer dollars for the organization Chez Panisse to create gourmet organic school lunches in the Berkeley School District. Chez Panisse is dedicated to “environmental harmony” and their menu features “Comté cheese soufflé with mâche salad,” “Meyer lemon éclairs with huckleberry coulis,” and “Chicory salad with creamy anchovy vinaigrette and olive toast.”
THAT ticks me off!!!! What BS.
