Bush’s Support of Abortion

By: Cao, Filed under: Administration & 3 Branches , General , Leftist Agenda @ 6:30 am

10 years ago, with eager support from the Clinton administration, Congress enacted the so-called “Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act.” That measure created a federally enforced ‘no protest zone’ around abortion “clinics”. Under FACE, protesters who obstruct access to abortuaries can be prosecuted for federal offenses. The same is not true of radical environmentalists, union activists or other political protesters who commit acts of violence, vandalism, or obstruction targeting businesses other than the abortion industry.

FACE is akin to a Bill of Attainder, an unconstitutional measure singling out one specific group of people for special punishment. US District Judge Kenneth Hoyt has correctly ruled that the act exceeded congressional authority and violated the reserve powers of the states. Most conservatives would expect that the “pro life” Bush administration’s Justice Department would approve of a judicial ruling against an unconstitutional law passed in service of the abortion industry. They are wrong.

In late November, assistant US Attorney General Peter Keisler flew from Washington to New Orleans to defend FACE before a three-judge panel from the US Circuit Court of Appeals. The judicial panel was considering a Bush administration challenge to District Judge Hoyt’s ruling. The original case involved an incident in which a Houston man named Frnak Bird rammed his van into a local Planned Parenthood facility.

“Congress chose to enact an unconstitutional statute which permits [the federal government] to do exactly what our Framers would have been appalled by, which is to regulate local violent criminal conduct,” argued Bird’s public defender, Brent Newton. “We still believe there are 50 states that are separate sovereigns in this country. That is what is at issue here. It’s not about abortion rights.”

Speaking on behalf of the Bush administration, Keisler “shot back by asking the appeals judges to recognize the simple motives behind acts such as the one Bird is accused of,” reported an AP account of the hearing. “It doesn’t [involve[ a commercial transaction, but it does interfere with the workings of an interstate market,” contended Keisler. This reflected the view of a third-party brief in the case filed by the abortion advocacy group Legal Momentum. That brief, summarized the AP, maintained that “a local attack [on an abortuary] can dissuade doctors in other states from continuing to perform abortions or prompt them to spend more money on security, which would possibly raise prices for patients.”

Elucidating post, as usual, ma’am. Isn’t there similar legislation in Illinois(the “Safe Health ‘Choices’ Act”) introduced by Jeff Schoenburg and Mark Beaubien and Rosemary Mulligan

  2. Cao Says:

I haven’t heard of it, Amy. The reason I’m reading your blog is so I can get better in touch with what’s happening in Illinois, since so much of my focus is on a more national scale.

Dear Sir: I have always been amazed how stupid Bush supporters are ! An apple does not fall from the tree. I do not say this to be disrespectfull. GHW Bush is the father of abortion. When he was a congressman from texas he was put on the ways and means committee because his father still had pull in Washington. All Congressman Bush talked about was how angry he was with all the minorities who were bankrupting the nation by being on welfare. He demaned birth control, planned-parent-hood, sterilization of the poor, and abortion on demand for women!
Nixion heared the little mans pain and ordered that a blue-ribbon commissions to study this crime against mankind by asking Rockefellars to draw the sword against the poor. How dare they have sex without their permission. The results was -all the top 10% of americas wealthy demanded that the rights of poor women be given the right to murder their own children to keep this countrys taxes from going up!
Prescott Bush and all of his rich friends went to the Supreme court while having a good steak in a high dollar resturant asked their good friends on the supreme court who believed in eugenics anyway to do their duty to murder those no-tax paying babies who are a burden to america to make Roe vr Wade the law of the land. Yale university was proud of the Bush’s clan being that it was the home of Germany’s Eugenics program. Praise be to God for all the money the republicans saved America for all the babies they killed for the all mighty dollar. The lesson one should learn dont get between a republican (dog ) and his consitutional right to steal the tax-dollars of the poor! Abortion is a republican program. Get your facts right!

Hmmm. I think Margaret Stanger would disagree with you, since she was a dyed in the wool communist and started planned parenthood in the ’20’s. You can look at the website about her, here.

Actually, republicans have historically been ‘pro life’. Wouldn’t expect you to understand what that means, considering you’re referrring to Prescott Bush like other leftists who draw the amazing conclusion that Bush’s grandfather had something to do with his grandson’s ideological leanings (hence Bush=Hitler. Kind of a wild crazy accusation, but it’s befitting people who can’t think or reason.). Besides leftists who talk about Prescott Bush having supported the Nazis through a few shares in a bank over over 100 years ago, I don’t think any of what you’re saying here is relevant or even makes sense!

It’s twisted rhetoric based on inflammatory hyperbole. hehehe…facts never bother leftists.

Dear Sir; The problem with people is that no one truly believes in nothing. People believe in only those things that put them in power or those things that put food on their table. No one except the few are willing to go to the cross alone for their beliefs.
Bush is an elitist. He was raised by his family that he has a divine right to rule the little people.
There is no way that Bush should been elected President. Any one with his life style who has failed at every thing in life who has no history of public service whos wealth is in questioned can be President with out a great deal of help.
The press did not vett this man out. They deliberately painted this man has some kind of hero. Bush barely can handle a city of 10,000. let alone a state or a nation. When a man stands up before God and america and say Saddam tried to kill my paw is not being Presidential. He is to immature to be in public office-period! Our military is not for his personnel use to gain vengence! At least not for public consumption!
His tax program is insane. If he believed that the war was “just” then he would be willing to pay for his ideas and beliefs. America is being forced to pay for insane adventures. He spends money like a women. He started a war he has no intention of finishing. He is going to leave the next President a night mare! He is going to take his money and run like all the businesses he bankrupt. True or false!
We are not at war we have never been at war. The only war Bush has declared is war on our economy.
Osma Ben Laden can not declare war on any one. He is not a King. ruler, a government official or a leader of no government. He is a criminal. A murder thats all. There is no mission to finish. There is no job to finish. There is no war to cut and to run from! Perhaps, if Mr. Bush had fought a war- he would know what a war looked like!
His fathers war record I question! He took 2 years to fire his first shot after all the hard work had been done. He only spent 6 months in combat before his friends brought him home to his moma. He spent the last 6 months of his military career hiding in the US when his skills was needed to take Japan. He spent 3.6 years in the militiary doing nothing but pretending to be a toy soilder. His flying skills were not that impressive to bring him home to train anyone. His flying skills are about as good as my writing skills. Perhaps the military can draft him back into his sons war on terrorism to give back at least 2 years he wasted while he was in the military.
This is not a war. This somebodies agenda. Between Bush and his Father they have wasted 2 trillion dollars. The first war was a lie. Why didnt Bush pick uo a phone a tell Saddam not to invade Kuwaitt. The first Gulf war was avoidable. It was a war of choice. We knew that Saddam was going to invade Kuwaitt. We could have stop Saddam before he invaded. Bush wanted that war just like the Bush’s wanted this war.
I wrote Bush jr. when He became govenor of Texas,May the Lord forget my stupid fellow Texans, that he was going to make a run for the Presidency. When that day came he would invade Iraq to finish what his father started. It was clear to us in Texas his intention was to invade Iraq-6 years before the fact! How dumb to have to be!!!The worst of this familiy is yet to come1
