Texas trooper killed, funeral planned
A statewide search continues for a suspect in the shooting death of a Texas Public Safety trooper in East Texas.
MultimediaThe DPS identifies the slain trooper as 39 year-old James Scott Burns. A DPS statement says they are searching for 37 year-old Brandon Robertson of Tyler. A DPS spokeswoman says, the shooting happened at the end of a chase last night near a rural crossroads just west of Kellyville.
Funeral arrangements set for slain trooper

The funeral for a trooper who was shot and killed Tuesday night in Marion County will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Linden. Burial will follow at the Shiloh Cemetery on U.S. 59 South, under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home in Linden.
Visitation for slain DPS Trooper James Scott Burns, who was killed during a traffic stop, is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Fellowship Hall at the First Baptist Church.

it’s so sad to hear stories like this.. where person like a DPS Trooper James Scott Burns who’s just doing his job, shot without any reason.. may they conscience shot them to death !

Trooper Burns… rest in peace in God’s house and may God shower your widow and young daughter with his comfort and blessings.
This is so sad. What would we do without men such as these?
