I have a little pocket video camera that has been chugging along quite well. That, in addition to the nice little camera my husband got for me for taking pictures, I have two little gadgets that have been serving me quite well over the years - when I was selling things on ebay and needed quick pictures for that, and for other purposes.

But since I got my mac I’ve discovered I’m having some difficulty with the asf files generated by my little video camera. When I was working on the pc it was never a problem; but now if I want to use imovie and learn about its great capabilities, I’m finding I need to convert those asf files to something that imovie can use.

Right now I can’t import them.

Any ideas about a cheap way to convert those files so I can use them?

I’m assuming I want to convert those from the asf format to mov.

When reading about the specs on the amazing little flip camera, it doesn’t appear as though I’ll have those challenges when using that as my little pocket video camera.
