Keith Olbermann should be suspended; sign the petition
It’s so weird how Olbermann gets away with harassing people. But since he’s on the left side of politics, he gets a pass.
He’s accused our President of forming in Iraq “an American viceroyalty, enforced by merciless mercenaries who shoot unarmed Iraqis and then evade prosecution in any country by hiding behind your skirts, sir,” and charged: “Terrorism inside Iraq is your creation, Mr. Bush!”
Spoken like a handpuppet for Mahmoud Imadinnerjacket. Terrorism existed in Iraq long before the 2003 invasion; you only need to look at Saddam’s mass graves to know that. 35 years of terrorism against his own people, and chemical weapons against the kurds. Doh, chemical weapons that he didn’t have. Right? LOL
When you recall that MSNBC’s David Shuster offended the Clinton campaign so much at the “pimped out” remark about 27-year old Chelsea since Chelsea was placing phone calls to Democratic Party superdelegates on her mother’s behalf. Wolfson called the comment “beneath contempt” and disgusting, and Shuster was suspended.–it’s obvious that Olbermann and MSNBC’s pandering goes only in the Moveon.org direction.
If you “offend” the Clintons, you’re suspended, post haste (Shuster was Olbermann’s occasional fill-in).
Olbermann’s not only maligned our troops and those serving in Iraq, he’s maligned a sitting president. The original:
Mr. Bush, at long last, has it not dawned on you that the America you have now created, includes “cold-blooded killers who will kill people to achieve their political objectives?” They are those in, or formerly in, your employ, who may yet be charged some day with war crimes.
This is, of course the far left’s simplistic version of the ‘illegal war’ and that Bush and everyone in his administration should be charged with war crimes. That could happen under someone like Barack Obama…but still the rhetoric is incendiary and this guy should shove a sock into it. Let’s look at the long list of dead people in the wake of the Clintons. Oh yeah, it’s already been noted that you can’t “offend” the Clintons!!!
“Mister” Bush, at long last has it not dawned on you that the America you have now created includes cold-blooded killers who will kill people to achieve their political objectives? They are called your Cabinet and your Pentagon.
heh. There are not enough words to say how many different ways I’m offended by his diatribes. “The America you’ve have now created”, he says, directing it at President Bush. As if Bush did this all by himself! That gives our President a lot of credit for being smart, now, doesn’t it? He’s either the smartest President of all time, or the dumbest. They just can’t make up their minds; the template changes -but it’s realiable that whatever the problem, the solution is “blame Bush”.
That, by the way, is a newly found director’s cut which sounded to me like lies to cover up a direct attack on our troops. He redefined “cold-blooded killers”, the code pink and IVAW-type line for our troops, as the typical blame Bush crap. You’d think that saying that sort of thing would get you sacked, but insulting republicans is fashionable, gets sneers and nods of approval from elitists John Kerry or meatbrain socialist-types.
Then, I guess in his own defense, Olbermann called Laura Ingraham and Mark Levin “troop haters” for responding to this diatribe.
Noel Shephard:
On Monday’s “Countdown,” answering to criticism that his Special Comment last Wednesday about President Bush’s “panoramic and murderous deceit” was so over the top that he should be suspended, Olbermann had the unmitigated audacity to claim those offended were showing “their instinctive hatred for, and contempt for” America’s troops.
I cannot imagine that kind of evil knee-jerk reflex. I feel very sorry for those that have shown it. It seems to me these right-wingers have inadvertently shown their true colors, their instinctive hatred for, and contempt for those self-sacrificing Americans who have been needlessly placed in harm’s way and the politicians they support. They hear criticism of our nation’s collective conduct in Iraq, and they immediately assume it’s the fault of the soldiers. In the wake of an insult that exists only in their minds and never in my words or in my heart, there remains I think only one question to ask: Laura Ingraham and Mark Levin, why do you hate our troops?
Yeah, it’s all about that vast rightwing conspiracy hating the troops, not the fact that the left wants ‘peace and conflict’ studies with terrorist states, or ‘this war is lost’ Harry Reid wants to put up the white flag, or John Murtha says our marines killed innocent Iraqis in cold blood before the investigation into the incident was even finished. It’s the vast rightwing conspiracy’s fault that you and your source for news (the Daily Kos) say hateful things, isn’t it, Keith? It’s hard to figure out exactly when leftists are lying, because as the saying goes, “lie in one, lie in them all.”
Noel Shephard:
Olbermann accused Laura Ingraham and Mark Levin, two of the strongest supporters of the war in Iraq and our military, of hating America’s troops. This is how the most popular commentator on MSNBC responds to criticism that he has insulted the U.S. military.
Sounds like something a preschooler says on the playground, doesn’t it?
I’m rubber, you’re glue, whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you.
General Electric, NBC, and MSNBC must be very proud to have such a high-profile person in their employ. I frankly wonder how any American patronizes such companies.
He may be high profile, but his ideology fits within the ideology of his employer, since GE does business with Iran. One has to wonder by Americans patronize companies that do business with terrorist states. *(Hat tip Mel)
Johnny Dollar’s assessment here.
Melanie Morgan: Let’s keep the pressure on GE and NBC. Sign the petition to SUSPEND KEITH OLBERMANN for the vicious attacks on Mark and Laura, and most especially on our troops.
To me, trading maligning George Bush with maligning our troops is hardly fashionable or something he should get a pass on. Fancy footwork in response doesn’t give him a pass, either. There was a time in our history when nobody would dare imagine doing that, whether the president was a republican or democrat. Today, as long as you agree with George Soros and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad about destroying America, go right ahead. I think Olbermann and his employer MSNBC and GE have a big problem on their hands.
Olbermann apparently helps the Kossacks do fund raising, reads the Daily Kos every day, and has joined up with John Hagee to Sink John McCain. Objectivity? Not there! Just think: Olbermann uses the Daily Kos for his material! Objective? We never thought they were. BIASED is more the word; RIDICULOUS MOONBATTERY are a few others.
FreeRepublic.com has the transcript of Mark Levin’s demand that MSNBC suspend Keith Olbermann.
Here’s Laura Ingraham’s analysis on the Olbermann diatribe. From the fabulous unparalleled Olbermann Watch. Here’s Olbermann Watch - the blog, and here’s Olbermann Watch the Youtube Channel.
It’s no wonder he’s having a meltdown when he’s caught red-handed -so to speak.
While we’re at it, I really think Chris Matthews should get the boot, too. But that’s another subject for another day/post.
By the way, when reading this over, I forgot to mention that Ingraham has a kid serving in Iraq now, if anyone has the moral authority card to play on this one, I think it’s her. She didn’t play it, but - Olbermann in his unhinged attack on Ingraham attacked the mother of a soldier who’s deployed. The only people who we’re supposed to be worried about ‘offending’ is leftists. Nobody has undergone consequences for attacking our president, or attacking Levin and Ingraham in this way. Every single day I’m “offended” by idiots like Olbermann, and every single day there is more to be concerned about since political discourse is so incredibly lopsided.
See Wolfang Amadeus Olbermann lie, right here at Olbermann Watch. At the Daily Kos he admitted there is no editing process:
…this one was one straight write. Took about an hour, I moved one sentence, added the new info on the fraudulence of the golf claim, and altered about a half dozen adjectives, and that was it. Not exactly Mozart’s unblemished composition sheets, but I’ll take it.
