Palin derangement syndrome
There sure has been a lot of it, so much, in fact, that I thought I’d track some of it.
First, they criticize her HAIR. With that shot, they’re trying to allege that she’s 20 years out of date; but there are a lot of Palin look-alikes out there, with the same pinned up locks. The sexy librarian look never goes out of style, LOL

Sabine Ehrenfeld, the Overstock.com spokesmodel
The accusation that Trig was Bristol’s baby instead of Sarah’s, and Sarah was covering up for her 17-year-old daughter.
Then came the announcement that Bristol Palin is pregnant, and they made hay with that one. (Flipside: Biden’s family was killed in a car accident; did anyone question his remaining in the Senate afterwards, or his ability to “lead”?)
Meredith Vieira claimed that it was only “blogs” that went after Sarah Palin’s family matters, but Brian Williams on the same network, had taken a shot at Palin, while hiding behind unnamed feminists questioning “who’s looking after the baby”? (Since when do feminists care about babies, anyway?) Leftists are more concerned with being ‘punished’ with a baby, and support abortion, (and in Obama’s case, even support killing the baby after it’s born alive.)
The troopergate allegations alleging Palin is under an ethics investigation, which ignored the facts. The investigation on Woodard started more than a year before Palin became governor, and two months or so before she even started her campaign for governor. And this wasn’t a vendetta; she had not reported him for some of the things he’d done in order to ‘protect’ his career. This investigation was for good reason; he was out of control. Palin’s former brother-in-law had tasered his own 11-year-old son, was threatening the Palin family, had made racist remarks about Todd, was involved in a drunken bar fight, and was nailed for illegal hunting. (See Flopping Aces)
Then there’s the focus on Todd’s DUI, which was over 20 years ago.
The accusation that Palin wanted Trig to die because she waited so long to get to the hospital (even though she was under a doctor’s care and her water hadn’t “broke” but was “leaking”.)
The accusation that Palin joined the Alaska Independent Party which seeks to secede from the Union (Palin in fact has been a registered republican since the ’80’s.) See ABC’s Political Punch, here.
The rumor that Palin has been unfaithful to her husband and had an affair

The wacko website (screenshot above) that went up targeting Trig
Dave reminded me in comments that she was also accused of cutting funding for special needs children. Malkin: Palin “slashes” another children’s program…by increasing funding; Update: Washington Monthly retracts, what about the rest of the MSM?
From one of Michelle’s readers:
In FY 08 the academy was moved out of special education management and became it’s own program. And it’s funding was increased by about $2.8 million (to $8,234,000 in FY 08from $5,449,300 in FY07). Here’s a link to the program’s FY 08 budget
Sarah Palin is accused of reducing the special education budget by 62%.
From blogger Parentalcation:
That is false. The special education budget actually increased by nearly 12%, as explained below.
As Syar correctly notes, the Alaska 2007 budget for special education was $8,265,300. But that included $5,352,000 for the Alaska Challenge Youth Academy.
In the 2009 budgetary document to which Syar links, astute observers will note that there is no mention of the Alaska Challenge Youth Academy. Instead, you have to look elsewhere. And guess what: There is now a specific document providing $6,082,100 for the Alaska Challenge Youth Academy. (Link) So combined with the $3,156,000 that Syar notes, the total is $9,238,100. A nearly 12% INCREASE, not a 62% decrease.
Targeting Piper because she was “spit combing” her little brother’s hair as he lay in her arms.

US Weekly (above) and its blatant attack on Palin versus its fawning over Obama (See Us Magazine Hit Hard by Canceling Subscribers After Palin Attack)
AP goes after Palin’s Religion
The completely fabricated story about Palin banning books See Michelle Malkin here and STACLU, here. It’s a list of books that leftists have been complaining about being censored for a lot longer than Palin’s been in office, but suddenly the list is the Palin list. Very interesting, but stupid! They’re very good at making things up, as it turns out; and stealing talking points from one another.
Moveon.org sends out talking points, they’re picked up by an Obama blogger, verbatim at myobama.com (See it at myobama.com: Mooseburgers for Everyone to Celebrate Palin, McCain’s VP Pick!)
- She was elected Alaska ’s governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage. She has no foreign policy experience.1
- Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.2
- She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000.3
- Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools. 4
- She’s doesn’t think humans are the cause of climate change. 5
- She’s solidly in line with John McCain’s “Big Oil first” energy policy. She’s pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won’t be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.6 7 8 9
- How closely did John McCain vet this choice? He met Sarah Palin once at a meeting. They spoke a second time, last Sunday, when he called her about being vice-president. Then he offered her the position.10
Chgo Sun-Times: Palin ‘Shook Up Every Registered Voter in the ‘Hood’ (Does that include the dead people that ACORN has signed up there?)
“American Morning” fact-checked Palin’s speech, but not Obama or Biden’s]
And despite the attacks on her family values and wacked allegations of book burnings and accusations about her lying to the American people, -Americans are far more interested in Sarah Palin and what’s happening with the GOP than they are Obama or Biden or the democrats. That could be because the Obamessiah has been dominating the news coverage thus far, and the media tend to go out of their way to support Obama, while demonizing Bush, lumping all republicans in the Bush category.
Like it or not, McCain is not Bush; and that argument is just as stupid as all the rest of the things they’ve been saying, hoping to plant little seeds of discontent in the reinvigorated republican conservative base.
I hope they realize just what it is they’re doing to their credibility and Obama with these attacks.
It should be noted that Biden and Obama have given lip service to the Palin family being off limits regarding these attacks, but it seems to be only lip service, because the media and the lefty bloggers are not paying attention. They sure know how to LEAD!
Mark My Words shows us two references from bloggers that are keeping track of the growing list of attacks: Vetting Sarah Palin and Palin Rumors.
Check those because there is a lot more than I had thought! Despicable.

Their “talking points” about why they oppose her make it clearer to my why we MUST get her into the White House ASAP:
* She was elected Alaska ’s governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage. (She does have foreign policy experience — she negotiated a pipeline deal with Canada, and is CoC of the Alaska National Guard.)
* Palin is strongly anti-[abortion] choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest. (YAY! She TOTALLY gets it!)
* She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000. (Actually, no. She was just very polite to him when he was visiting her city. So her good manners is a plus, and the fact that her enemies are attacking her for it shows how scared they are which is another plus.)
* Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools. (No — she just thinks it should be discussed if a student brings it up. Which is encouraging free and independent thought. I know this scares the snot out of Lefties, but I consider it a good thing. And again, the fact that they’re making the claim and calling ID “creationism” just highlights their ignorance and paranoia. If they hate her, can she be all bad?)
* She’s doesn’t think humans are the cause of climate change. (Which shows that she has a grasp of science, not just politics. Another reason to vote for her.)
* She’s solidly in line with John McCain’s “Big Oil first” energy policy. (Actually no; she did exactly what her enemies are calling for and raised taxes on oil companies. Somehow, though, she managed to make it work, which I find mystifying and would like to have explained to me.) She’s pushed hard for more oil drilling (another reason to support her) and says renewables won’t be ready for years. (Which is true, and she has a plan for how to best tap into them. ) She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska. (I’d need more information than spittle-spewing from PDS sufferers to get a handle on this. My understanding is that she looked at science and economics and concluded that drilling wasn’t going to hurt the bears.)
* How closely did John McCain vet this choice? He met Sarah Palin once at a meeting. They spoke a second time, last Sunday, when he called her about being vice-president. Then he offered her the position. (Which just would mean that he’s smart enough to recognize quality quickly)

We can easily flip the charge of ‘no experience’ over on them; Obama has no experience, and has even claimed that his running a presidential campaign shows he has executive experience. How dumb is this guy? If he can make that argument on his own behalf, then the argument applies to everyone else running and EVEERYONE IS QUALIFIED. That’s stupid!
I agree with all of your points, we wont’ have to wait for 300 foreign policy advisors to advise McCain on foreign policy matters…
And history has proven that Biden’s sense of judgment isn’t very good; he recently flipped on supporting Israel, and I’m still appalled at his support of excusing the people who murdered women and children at WACO and killed a little boy and his dog, and a mother holding her baby at Ruby Ridge.
Biden is probably one of the best examples of 30 years of Washington politics as usual - that you can get.

“The accusation that Palin joined the Alaska Independent Party which seeks to secede from the Union”
Doubly false, because not only has Sarah Palin nevber joined the AIP, but the AIP does not advocate secession from the union. Yes, a very few vocal fringers within th AIP do, but such a position has consistently been missing from the party’s platform, the party leadership disdains such a position and one would be hard pressed to find an Alaskan who thought that was a position of the AIP.
“[T]roopergate”? I’m with Bill ,Dyer on this one. “Tasergate” is more descriptive, doesn’t buy into the Mass Media Podpeople Hivemind terminology, begins the discussion of the problem of the out-of-control nature of Wooten (tasered his 10-year-old stepson “demonstrated extremely poor judgment and a conscious choice to violate the department’s standards of conduct”) who, in addition to the tasering incident also, while specifically assigned wildlife crimes investigator, illegally shot a moose which, according to his superior, “exponentially exacerbates this violation as it is absolutely contrary to your current assignment.” Much, much more to the Tasergate back story. Including Walt Monegan’s–you know, the guy Palin supposedly fired for not firing Wooten–frank admission,
Well, duh.
Missed one, though (or maybe I did; there are so many, it’s easy to lose count), ,the accusation that Palin cut funds for “special needs” children. Phony. One program was moved from “special needs” omnibus budget area to its own and both areas recieved expanded budgets.
So far, the only negative on Palin is a negative negative (something that’s just not there at all). *heh* She’s not spoken out on alien invaders (AKA, illegal aliens), but then that issue has been the invisible elephant in the room during this campaign.
September 6th, 2008 at 1:56 pm
Tell that to Whoopie Goldberg, who said that Sarah is pro nazi and wants Alaska to SUCCEED from the Union, LOL
ooooh good one, I’ll have to add the cutting the funding for special needs children!
I think the thing that was the most disturbing to me during the speeches at the RNC was when they brought a LA RAZA rep up there, Tommy Espinoza, from the Raza Development Fund, who has been a “friend” of John McCain’s for 20 years.
September 7th, 2008 at 8:08 am
Great job here debunking the bunk from the PDD sufferers out there going apoplectic ape sh** over Palin’s surprise ascendancy to Queen Hillary’s vacant throne.
September 7th, 2008 at 9:28 am
From Palin rumors:
she was vetted extensively, not just in three days — I’ve got links to press reports about people coming to Wassila on 29 May, and we had her on our Veepstakes at PJM from the first day we ran it.
—
And thanks, Chicago Ray, glad to see you.
September 7th, 2008 at 10:36 am
No thank you , and also Thanks for that list I had it in an email and deleted it, in fact I bet 300$ at Linesmaker 4 months ago on Palin and cleared $1300 on her longshot selection Cao.
They had her listed there so it wasn’t their imagination and I even brought this to the attention of some republican officials to use as a weapon back at the poeple who continuosly say she was a last minute choice.
These deranged continue to re write history so suit their need sand argument, so pathetically sad.
September 7th, 2008 at 10:39 am
And those pathetically sad deranged individuals are his BASE.
So I don’t believe what the polls say about how close a race it is.
I refuse to believe there are that many clueless people in the US!!!
Not to mention nasty and mean-spirited.
September 7th, 2008 at 10:45 am
I never thought about betting on this thing, LOL
$1300 bucks, heh?
September 7th, 2008 at 4:35 pm
That was almost the highest long shot so it was extraordinary payout. For instance a McCain bet of 300 placed today only gets $420
But bet tonight on the Bears of 50 could get 900 if they win by between 14-17 points. If the colts win by the spread 50 wins 150.
So there’s no money in the pres bet now which means things are looking upward in a big way for McCain and Palin, thank the lord above

“So I don’t believe what the polls say about how close a race it is.

Precisely Cao:
PS I don’t believe that polling **** either
that is all a function of the Barry in the Bag Syndrome they suffer from in the media. This behavior will be the death knell for that tribe when McCain Palin wins in a landslide in 59 days..
All those libs’ll be scratching their empty heads going “but Brian Williams and Whoopi said we had it in the bag, the repukelicans or McSamers stole the election” …and on that’ll go for four years.. blah fliggin blah I say!!!
PS 2 I added your great blog to my blogroll, I used to see it on the Illinois blogroll but it’s on a different page on my blog now..I live in Buffalo Grove 8 miles outside of Chicago BTW
