Ayers connection Khalidi and Obama
The LA Times mentions the videotape in this article: Allies of Palestinians see a friend in Barack Obama.
At Khalidi’s going-away party in 2003, the scholar lavished praise on Obama, telling the mostly Palestinian American crowd that the state senator deserved their help in winning a U.S. Senate seat. “You will not have a better senator under any circumstances,” Khalidi said.
The event was videotaped, and a copy of the tape was obtained by The Times.
LA Times writer Peter Wallsten said he won’t release the video or reveal his sources: Confirmed: MSM Holds Video Of Barack Obama Attending Jew-Bash & Toasting a Former PLO Operative… Refuse to Release the Video!
It’s so cozy, isn’t it?
Also attending the farewell dinner described above: Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.
In Chicago, the Khalidis founded the Arab American Action Network, and Mona Khalidi served as its president. A big farewell dinner was held in their honor by AAAN with a commemorative book filled with testimonials from their friends and political allies. These included the left wing anti-war group Not In My Name, the Electronic Intifada, and the ex-Weatherman domestic terrorists Bernadine Dohrn and Bill Ayers. (There were also testimonials from then-state Senator Barack Obama and the mayor of Chicago.)
How quaint.
Update: Meatbrain and the Huffpo are objecting to people talking about this, complaining that McCain gave money to Khalidi here is the IRI’s press release regarding this subject:
For Immediate Release
October 29, 2008
Washington, DC – “Questions have arisen regarding the International Republican Institute’s (IRI) work with Palestinians in the 1990s.“In the 1990s, IRI gave grants to the Center for Palestinian Research and Studies (CPRS) for polling in the West Bank/Gaza. The polls measured support for the peace process, for various Palestinian political groups, and for efforts to enhance governance in the West Bank/Gaza. At that time no other organization could credibly conduct polling in the West Bank/Gaza.
“We understand that Rashid Khalidi was one of the many founders of CPRS, and we understand that he was for some (unclear) amount of time a board member. IRI did not in the 1990s conduct background checks of grantees’ founders or board members. IRI did on a number of occasions vet CPRS as an organization, including, as was our custom, with the Israeli government, and we were given no cause for concern.
“We do not recall any contact between Mr. Khalidi and IRI, and there is no evidence that Mr. Khalidi benefited in any way from IRI’s grants.
“Other organizations that reportedly gave funding to CPRS include the National Endowment for Democracy, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Center for International Private Enterprise, the Ford and Rockefeller Foundations, the Japanese Embassy, and Germany’s Friedrich Naumann Stiftung.
“IRI’s relationship with CPRS ended in 2000, and we understand that it no longer exists.”
McCain has never been caught sitting around a dinner table with Khalidi for a “chat”. If a leftist can prove that the CRPS was supporting terrorism, and that the IRI and MCCain knew it; I’ll condemn McCain and the IRI; but until then, this is just another socialist lie meant to take the focus away from Obama’s connection - VERY PERSONAL CONNECTION to Khalidi and before him, Said.
Obama’s association with terrorists and unsavory characters including the connection to Saddam’s Iraq in Auchi is very well documented.
You’re going to have to do better than this to get my attention about McCain’s unsavory past.
McCain has been up front and open; Obama refuses to release his records.
Here we have a more frightening story - but in some ways deja vu in terms of Kerry’s refusal to release records. With Obama, though, it’s all of his records, including his birth certificate! And he’s fighting releasing those in court, completely backed by the DNC!
For shame.
McCain gave money to Khalidi? The truth behind the meme « nn&v
Yesterday, readers of our blog were witness to the birth of viral meme.
An 0bama troll dropped by our post on the LA Times video suppression, and informed us that the Obama-Khalidi association really wasn’t any big deal. Otherwise, why would John McCain have given over $400,000 to a Palestinian group that Khalidi worked with?
I googled his cut-and-paste comment and discovered that the exact same phrase had been already been posted to the internet over 500 times.
That same verbatim phrase now has been posted over 18,000 times!
Obviously the O-bots think it’s working.
The problem is, it is only a distraction, designed to produce an illusion.
Aaron Klein, writing at WND, shines the light of truth on the 0bama cover story.
It’s true that McCain distributed several grants, including one worth about half a million dollars, to the Center for Palestine Research and Studies, or CPRS, a West Bank organization associated with Khalidi. What the 0-bots fail to mention is that CPRS is pro-Western and can be characterized as pro-Israel.
Its work has been condemned by the Palestinian leadership and by local terror groups as “Zionist propaganda.”
In contrast, the Khalidi organization Obama helped fund as a board member for a nonprofit, alongside domestic terrorist William Ayers, has taken a flagrantly anti-Israel line. Khalidi’s Arab American Action Network has hosted scores of Israel-bashing events, including at least one reportedly attended by Obama.
The Obama-Khalidi connection is one more straw. Is it the one that finally breaks the donkey’s back?
Let’s hope it is; there are people protesting the LA Times and pushing for release of the tape. Follow the protest efforts at freedommarch.org and sign the petition.

Send the LASlimes down the garbage chute of history so they can join the NYSlimes.
Someone at the LASlimes commented that they saw a news reporter and everyone in the building rushed to a window to take a look.

Yeah, they’d never seen one before, and wanted to know what one looked like!
