But of course the “President” isn’t interested in prosecuting them.
The revelation comes as Congressional Democrats turn up the pressure on the Obama administration to appoint a special counsel to start a criminal investigation into harsh interrogations of terror suspects and who authorized them. The debate was sparked by the Obama administration this month releasing four Bush-era memos outlining legal guidelines for the CIA’s interrogation methods.
So the witch hunt is a political dog and pony show just like most of the teleprompter Messiah’s decisions.
Obama has said it would be up to Attorney General Eric Holder to determine whether “those who formulated those legal decisions” should be prosecuted. The methods, described in the Bush-era memos, included slamming detainees against walls and subjecting them to simulated drowning, known as waterboarding.
The president said he would not seek to punish CIA officers and others who carried out interrogations.
Eric Holder, served as AG under the Clinton administration and worked for the Clinton pardons of fugitive financiers Marc Rich and Pincus Green. Those pardons were so despicable that even Jimmy Carter denounced them as “disgraceful” and “attributable to large gifts.”
So his “gift” to the Obama administration is to keep beating on that “war crimes” drum for Obama’s predecessors.
We might consider this lucky; in communist countries they would be executed. In a way, though, they’re seeking to do the same thing here; figuratively speaking.
Another worrying effect of all this, however, is that counterterrorism is no longer “popular”, and that experienced and knowledgeable people are getting out of the business because it’s not politically popular anymore.
Hell, even Joe Cafasso moved on to storm chasing…LOL
