What a great post. You know what they say about lawyers, there are no honest ones. It explains so much.

What is the job of a lawyer? To manipulate, alter, or obscure the Truth to the benefit of the person paying them.
This is not to say they are bad people. In fact, most of the lawyers I know are active in charities and are very civic minded people. However, they start school when they are 5 years old, K-12, 4 years of college, 3 years of law school, then into a firm. They have very little experience outside of their very small (world of academia) box. There is a disconnect from the “real world”. Their academic and professional training is designed to make them think in particular ways, most notably: there are no absolutes, no right and wrong, just the law, and the law is gray and can mean many things, depending on the position of their client. This is trained into them.
And these are the people who we keep asking to lead us.
