I’m participating in Stop the ACLU because they’re trying to rid our society of its Judeo-Christian heritage and instead, support the rights of killers and terrorists–who to me, under the law, should not get any special consideration, crunchy peanut butter or cable tv.
The ACLU is on the right to die side of this, as most people know.

Ignoring the facts of the case, the American Civil Liberties Union—to my disgust, but not my surprise in view of the long-term distrust of the ACLU by disability rights activists—has marched to support the husband despite his grave conflicts of interests in this life-or-death case. The ACLU claims the governor and the legislature of Florida unconstitutionally overruled the courts, which continued to declare the husband the lawful guardian. On the other hand, the ACLU cheered when Governor George Ryan of Illinois substituted his judgment for that of the courts by removing many prisoners from death row. In a later column, I’ll go deeper into the constitutional debate over saving Terri’s life.
In the October 28 weeklystandard.com, Wesley Smith, author of Forced Exit—who has accurately researched more of these cases than anyone I know—reports that of the $750,000 to be held in trust for Terri’s rehabilitation, two of Michael Schiavo’s lawyers pressing for removal of her feeding tube have been paid more than $440,000. Whom did that rehabilitate? Any comment from the ACLU? If the husband and the lawyers succeed, maybe the ACLU will send flowers to Terri’s funeral.
I doubt it, they don’t recognize Christians deserve any rights to even practice their own religion. Just take a look at their position on Christmas. No creche, no 10 commandments, no cross on the Los Angeles Seal, let’s get rid of it all.
Here’s the stop the aclu blogroll. Every Thursday, we’re going to blog on the ACLU. This week, the chosen subject was their support of legalizing drugs, they have a campaign for that. I just thought, under the circumstances, Terri’s fight was more important at this point, the fight against the legalization of drugs will go on for longer than a few days. Terri is clinging to life right now, she might not live much longer.

Well said Cao. The ACLU only contributes to the dividing of this country and has strayed quite far from their original mission. As I like to say, The ACLU is the greatest example of a good intention gone completely wrong. But what do you expect from a communist group, certainly not the defense of the values and morals this great country was founded on.

don’t stop the ACLU yet, they’re about to push for the legalization of pot. They’re ******** up on the Terri Schiavo case but they’re almost making up for it by going to bat for legalizing drugs. To HELL with the war on drugs… and God Bless Terri Schiavo and her family in this moment of need.
Since your always labeling people terrorists, what about:
The abortion clinics that have been bombed?
The doctors that have been shot leaving their homes?
The letter bombs sent to “activist” judges?
All these acts were committed by radical evangelical christians. So is the christian movement terrorism or are these acts committed by your freedom fighters?

Silence means that you’re being ignored because you are so far away from any semblance of reality that you would likely argue that a brick that hit you upside the head, if thrown by someone the least bit religious, was not a brick and that it did not hit you, simply because it was thrown by someone with religion.

It consistently amazes me at people’s anti-religious callousnessness, *******, You’re a bigot. And not only are all bigot’s inherently ignorant, they are particularly susceptible to ideas and ideologies that feed their warped sense of superiority.
I personally find the imposition of politics and politicians in this matter distasteful but necessary. And I believe that if Terri was indeed in a PVS,and had clearly expressed her wishes beforehand, I’d say let her go.
Neither litmus test has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt in this case. Proved through a preponderance of evidence which is the standard in civil cases like this, perhaps. But with death being the permanent thing that it is,don’t you think the stricter standard should apply?
My opposition to Terri’s murder is based on the fact that even by the “preponderance of evidence” standard, the case for killing her had not been made. If you want to say that Terri is in a PVS fine…let’s do the tests to determine that-tests that have not been done due to the interference of her “guardian” Michael. And let’s look at Michael for just one second. If there was ever a case for conflict of interest, this is it. How can anyone rationally say that Michael speaks for Terri when he has a new girlfriend and two children by that arrangemenet? It’s nuts.
The fact is, there is no one to speak on behalf of Terri except her parents. And no one is listening to them.

The eugenics movement that was unfortunately started in this country, was applauded by the nazis and enacted by them in an extreme manner…..I believe the reason audrey labeled you a nazi was your ideology, and indeed the ideology of most of those on the left, that see nothing wrong with this type of thinking….i.e. “they have no quality of life so let them die”….which is fine if someone is terminal and near death anyway, but when the only thing that stands between you and death is the intake of food and water, in other words two of the three necessities of life, even if it is through a feeding tube, the food should not be taken away.
I have a sister that is a nurse and her extremely detailed description of what happens to those that starve to death (she has seen it) is gruesome…..it is NOT painless. Something that continues to be said is that the only part of Terris brain that is functioning is the basic brain stem…that part that controls involuntary movements, sleep cycles and breathing….what they fail to mention is that your hunger response is also in this section of Terris brain that is by ALL admissions, FUNCTIONING.
