who’s surprised that three supposed conservatives support bringing Gitmo detainees to Illinois?

Nobody should be surprised by any of this. Bob Barr, Grover Norquist and David Keene are the members of the big “conservative trio” that the Huffpo is crowing about today,1 but with a broadbrush they paint all conservatives the same…when they’re not. Supposedly their support of bringing the Gitmo terrorists to Illinois was prepared by “the Constitution Project”. I haven’t been able to find out much about “the Constitution Project” other than it seeks “consensus” solutions on legal and constitutional issues. ugh.

Bob Barr is a nutty libertarian and served on its national committee…and both Bob Barr and Grover Norquist opposed certain clauses in the Patriot Act.2

Sure, there are points that people agree on, but not all. Bob Barr is the one person, though, who asked some good questions during the Waco hearings.

David Keene, some have already noted, is a sellout fraud.3

Grover Norquist is a terrorist sympathizer, which I observed and others have noted as far back as June of 2005.4 when he was organizing muslim organizations to “advise” Bush in the White House. That caused a number of mistakes in Afghanistan and brought disaster to an otherwise successful mission conducted by Special Forces in 2001.5
