five of the Fort Hood victims were from Illinois

The three that were killed were Francheska Velez, 21, and her unborn child;¹ and 22-year-old Pfc. Michael Pearson^{2 3}. Velez was from the 4300 block of West Kamerling in the west Humboldt park neighborhood, and Pearson was from Bolingbrook. People refuse to acknowledge the life of Francheska’s unborn child; but I count that iinnocent life being snuffed out as beyond tragic. The total, therefore here is three dead, but there are two more.

The other two were:

1. Dorothy “Dorrie” Carskadon, a 47-year-old U.S. Army Reserve social worker from Rockford, Illinois-who was critically injured.^{4 5}
2. And Najee Hull, a 21-year-old soldier from Homewood, was the first person to be shot but survived.⁶
