Grady Memorial Hospital , a charity hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, decided it must stop providing illegal immigrants free kidney dialysis treatments that were costing the hospital (or rather taxpayers) $50,000 per year, according to this article in Saturday’s New York Times.1 and this article at the American Thinker by David Paulin. 2
Mexico’s rich elitists such as Carlos Slim – the world’s richest man and a major Times shareholder – haven’t lifted a finger or parted with a measly dime to help the fifty-something illegals who have been left in limbo as a result of Grady’s common sense decision. But what’s even more outrageous is
Upon closing its dialysis unit, it (Grady Memorial Hospital) has gone onto spend tens of thousands of dollars per patient to pay for their dialysis elsewhere — and to even cover travel expenses to Mexico. However, hospital spokesmen all but acknowledge that at some point in the near future the funds will not be available to pay for dialysis. What’s more, it seems unlikely that these patients will be getting free dialysis back in Mexico.
These people think that money grows on trees, and that America owes the world free stuff – instead of doing what would really help their people – which is to provide a system where their people can fend for themselves. If healthcare is a “right” as most of these radicals seem to believe, maybe Mexico ought to start in its own backyard.
The other problem with illegals, also pointed out in that article, is the fact that Mexico exports its criminals to the US and goes to the international courts when murderers have received American justice. Apparently the Mexican government is much like the communists at International ANSWER – in that their definition of “freedom” is that murderers, rapists and pedophiles should be free to walk American streets.
