e-Voter has struck me…as just a tad bit unusual; being that it claims to be ‘nonpartisan’. What exactly is nonpartisan these days? Even money spent at starbucks goes to liberal causes.
Kos compatriot Jerome Armstrong was the man behind Political Technologies LLC. back in 2006 when Dan Riehl posted about it. Delving a little deeper, we find that Political Technologies, LLC was incorporated by Jerome Armstrong in June of 2003, and was dissolved in October of 2007 in Washington state.
There was a Democrat John Corzine and Daily KOS connection to Political Technologies LLC back then, as well as quite a bit of money for the expensive
and complicated task of hosting blogs.
Curious.
“Our mission is to help voters educate themselves in a non-partisan and unbiased way,” said Adam Kravitz, CEO of Political Technologies LLC, owners and operators of eVoter. “One of eVoter’s key features is that voters can toggle between different organizations to see who is endorsed on their ballot. In addition to interactive candidate profiles, this endorsement option is what makes eVoter a unique online voter resource.” -from a PRNEWSWire Press Release.
Phillip Muller is the President and Founding Partner at evoter Technologies LLC. I’d like to know what his political affiliation is, as well as the other people involved in this project.
eVoter is an unbiased, non-partisan website created by experts with a proven track record in developing online communities. Owned and operated by Florida-based Political Technologies LLC, eVoter is designed with the goal of providing voters with concise unbiased information on every candidate and measure on their ballot.
In another press release, Political Technologies LLC’s Kravitz announced a sizeable bridge loan in order to develop the technologies behind the e-voter website.
Although e-Voter is a ‘for-profit” organization, I do not see that it has made any shares available to investors.
The Political Technologies LLC in the press releases is not out of Washington State-it’s in Miami, Florida; and is supposedly a one-man show, having its articles of organization filed by an attorney in Florida, Stewart Merkin. Stewart Merkin ’s law office address is Political Technologies, LLC’s address. Stewart Merkin is also Political Technologies’ organizer.
Merkin is a member of the South Florida NTFE (Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship) Advisory Board. So, since he’s involved in education, is e-Voter also connected with the e-Voter Education Project?
Stewart Merkin, according to FEC filings, donated $250 to two democrat candidates in 2009, Andre Lewis Williams and Elaine Bloom for House Seats in Florida-and two separate donations of $250 to ACTBLUE, an organization devoted to making every state in the United States “blue”.
It would appear as though Political Technologies, LLC is still connected to “blue” interests, regardless as to its stating that it is ‘nonpartisan’.
How exactly does e-Voter fit into the democrats’ agenda and ACTBLUE? It remains to be seen. But one thing for certain; there seems to be a lot of money to be made from it.
What turns up on e-Voter WHOIS search, is that it is owned by the dissolved Political Technologies, LLC out of Washington state, which is listed by the State of Washington Secretary of State’s office as inactive. Is e-Voter still connected somehow to Jerome Armstrong, too?

.
**this was cleverly changed since I first wrote this –and the internet archive is protected via robot.txt so it is not available via the wayback machine**
Recently I noticed that Illinois Review (of all places) touted being proud of e-Voter’s sponsorship.
I wouldn’t be so hasty about celebrating that until we know precisely what e-Voter is designed to accomplish.
ACORN says it’s nonpartisan, too

Dear Cao,
We’re a little surprised at your post because there is a very detailed “About us” section on our website which explains who we are and what we are about ( http://www.evoter.com/about ). We wanted to be totally open so we listed detailed biographies of ourselves (although not the lawyer we hired to form our company, which is really not relevant). Several of our team worked at Big Jump Media, which owns http://www.tangle.com one of the biggest Christian social networking sites on the internet and we also worked together at Spark Networks which owns Jdate.com a Jewish dating site (please feel free to google us). We have no link to Act Blue or some other company with our name in Washington State.
We’d like to note that we publish our toll free number (866-976-0555) and an actual street address in Miami to show we have nothing to hide. I welcome a call to discuss your concerns.
Yours sincerely,
Adam Kravitz
CEO
I notice that information was changed from the Washington State address…but thank you for your comments, Mr. Kravitz.
“Stewart Merkin is also Political Technologies’ organizer.”
Ahhh…what I was told is incorrect?…I just read about what an “organizer” does…
LLC Organizer. This is typically a member of the LLC ownership group but does not have to be.
I was told that in most cases, the LLC Organizer is most certainly a member of the LLC ownership group.
So…is Merkin a part-owner or is he full-owner? I think that is most certainly relevant, and the people have a right to know who is behind e-voter and who is behind the front men. If Merkin is not a part owner or full owner, who are the owners of e-Voter?
Publishing a phone number doesn’t necessarily mean full disclosure, LOL…but thank you anyway…it’s what the talking heads don’t talk about that I’m worried about.
