Another passenger was filming the entire flight, they intended to use this as a test for future domestic hits. And though Umar fully admits being linked to al Qaeda, the WH will not acknowledge that. Heck, Obama campaigned for al Bakari/Kadafi/al Qaead linked Odinga, it's not like they'd have to look very far to find an AQ linked terrorist threat to America!
