Saggin’ Saddam in his skivvies

Have you seen this pic of saggy Saddam in his skivvies washing his clothes like some poor peasant hick? What’s amazing to me is how well he’s actually being treated, considering everything he did to his own people…and considering what he encouraged his sons to do to the Iraq people.

Some reactions from Iraqis:

“Saddam Hussein and his regime were bloody and practiced mass killing against the people, therefore, whatever happens to Saddam, whether he is photographed naked or washing his clothes, it means nothing to me. That’s the least he deserves,” said Hawre Saliee, a 38-year-old Kurd.

I can’t imagine that any kurd who survived the Anfal campaign has much good to say about the tyrant.

In Bahrain, Ali Yousef, 21, said he ”cracked up” when he saw the pictures.

”I don’t care about Saddam, he was a ruthless dictator and he deserves worse,” Yousef said.

Ruthless dictator barely covers the despicable things they’ve uncovered over there.

Muhammed al-Sabah, Kuwait’s foreign minister, said he had no sympathy for the man who invaded his country in 1991.

”What happened to him on this earth is really of minor consequences. I certainly believe in my heart of hearts that he’s going to go to hell,” al-Sabah told CNN. ”He is a villain.”

Libs have been crying over Saddam’s capture and treatment for some time. They complained about his capture from the infamous rathole to the extend that now there are a few rumors circulating that the rathole story was totally American propaganda and it didn’t happen that way.

It is not the first time there has been an outcry over images of Saddam.

Pictures and video images of Saddam being examined by a medic after his arrest were widely criticized — even by the Vatican. A top Vatican cardinal said at the time that American forces treated the captured Iraqi leader “like a cow.”

If Hitler had lived, how do you suppose the world would have treated HIM? I put Saddam in the same category–he’s lucky to still be alive. And when the Iraqi people get a hold of him, there’ not telling what’s going to happen to him.

Malkin has some on this story here.

The terribly abused tyrant gets hair dye, example, “to keep his mane youthful-looking.”

He gets three squares a day, a fluffy pillow, and full-air conditioning. Plus, “He can exercise in a 4,300-square-foot back yard while razor wire keeps out would-be attackers. He tends a small garden in a nearby courtyard.”

The poor thing. His backyard is bigger than mine and he gets a garden, to boot? What is this, a country club? I thought he was supposed to be in PRISON. I guess he’s still very concerned that he keeps up his Stalin-esque appearance, even in his undies.

Oh no, they’re contesting unfair treatment of this prisoner!!! Someone is saying these pictures violate military guidelines!! What guidelines are those–showing some old guy’s man boobs to the world?

In a statement from Baghdad, the U.S. military says the photos may even violate Geneva Convention guidelines for the humane treatment of detained individuals.

He’s got a garden, people, deal with it. You mean he shouldn’t be allowed to wash his clothes?

Hussein’s lawyers agree. In Amman, Jordan, Hussein lawyer Zeyad Khasawneh says the publication of the photos was a “violation of the Geneva conventions, international law and human dignity.”

Oh, I get it, we’re not allowed to snicker over this modern day Hitler in his skivvies, I guess we’re only supposed to see him dressed and without handcuffs? So as not to taint the rest of the world with the idea that he might be a criminal or something?

Dudman, The Sun’s managing editor, defended the decision to print the pictures.

”They are a fantastic, iconic set of news pictures that I defy any newspaper, magazine, or television station who were presented with them not to have published,” he said. ”He’s not been mistreated. He’s washing his trousers. This is the modern-day Adolf Hitler. Please don’t ask us to feel sorry for him.”

I don’t. I want to see him get what he deserves. And that doesn’t mean more of this.

I hear Saddam will try to fool his prosecutors by claiming he’s Chinese and changing his name to One Hung Low.

But it may just be a rumor.

  2. Cao says:

I heard his prosecutors are going to sue Newsweek for violating the Geneva convention. Interesting; I don’t think Saddam ever signed anything, lol…except a big fat check to send his WMD via truckload to the Bakaa Valley.

  3. Jay says:

Its a good thing they didn’t take this pic from the backside, or we’d all be seeing skid marks.

  4. ThaSIckness says:

Well, I for one am against the picture…

I really didn’t need to see Saddam’s… “little insurgent”.. YUK!!!

  5. Michael says:

My only problem with the printing of these pictures is that they put them on pages 2, 3, 4, and 5: they could have put them further into the periodical to entice the consumer to read some of the other articles.

Oh, and Jay, how about “Skud Marks”?

  6. Cao says:

    you guys are sick.

  7. Hey, marc: “One Hung Low” – not funny.
You ever had a hernia operation, hunh :?: I DOUBT IT!

Great take on this silliness, Cao… and sorry for another TMI.

  8. Cao says:

 I’m getting a kick out of it, TMH…in my own twisted kind of a way. I couldn’t BELIEVE that picture. If people are going to make fun of the Butcher of Sagdad I want to hear it. What’s lovely is…I can go back and laugh at it any time I like.

  9. morg173 says:

I think that we found at least one WMD!

  10. Jeremy says:

WMD?..Oh, you mean Weapon of Mass Disgustingness.

Cao, we can’t be tried under Geneva Conventions because we turned him over to the Iraqis. He is no longer a POW and therefore does not fall under those rules anymore.

  11. Cao says:

Jeremy, I read your piece. I was just quoting from an article that said that. Take it up with the writers over at CTV.

  12. Lisa Gilliam says:

So the got this scoundrel in his scivvies;big deal! What are his lawyers bitiching about?they better be glad that is all so far that HAS happened to him after the bedlam and heartache he’s caused, these lawyers should just shut up.Frankly I really don’t believe these sheisters of his even know what the Geneva Conventions say.All this carping and caterwalling is just to get publicity. But,I will tell you all this one person out of this group who I would like the Iraq people to get their hands on is our treasonous and pcp addict former attorney general Ramsey Clark. Now that along with what happens to Sadaam would be poetic justice if it were to occur.

  13. As soon as someone told be aboutt he skivvies picture, I just knew it was The Sun that published it. Of course, now the liberal whiners are complaining about his jail cell. Poor baby. He’s in an Iraqi jail; he had it built to his own specs. What were we supposed to do? Build him a new palace?
