This is the equivalent of sending the CIA to Siberia, IMO – the CIA’s area of expertise is INTELLIGENCE GATHERING on America’s enemies. Obama has some great priorities; this is yet another example of the Obot administration attempting to bust the CIA’s effective war on terrorism. Obama doesn’t want to acknowledge it exists; and global warming is a necessary lie in order to keep funding all of these government-funded green initiatives. As all those ‘learned scientists’ at Greenpeace demonstrates, you don’t need to be a scientist to prop the global warming lie, in fact, it behooves you NOT to be because then you’re not bothered with that pesky scientific method.

If you want to look at what’s REALLY happening to the polar icecaps, the CIA’s satellite imaging isn’t really a good measuring tool. But the Polar Research Group in the Department of Atmospheric Science at the University of Illinois has great data to check out on it…the problem is, they’re not global warming enthusiasts and they have REAL DATA.

“This is another example of President Obama not taking terrorism seriously,” said Deneen Borelli, a fellow with the National Center’s Project 21 black leadership network. “Our enemies must be laughing at the Obama Administration’s incompetence.”

“Given the very real threat posed by terrorists, it is ridiculous and downright dangerous to divert any intelligence resources to monitoring polar ice,” added Project 21’s Deneen Borelli. ”Its said this won’t hinder regular intelligence-gathering, but it’s also clear that agencies can’t yet share data and track a terrorism suspect who was identified by his own father. It’s unwise to further distract our intelligence network by forcing it to consult with scientists about icebergs, polar bears and sea lions. Terrorist-watching satellites used to keep an eye on climate change

Obama has resurrected a program formerly cancelled by President Bush that shares information from the CIA’s spy satellites and other classified sensors with environmental scientists. The program, called Measurements of Earth Data for Environmental Analysis, or MEDEA, has already been used by a group of government-chosen scientists to measure Arctic sea ice.

Norbert Untersteiner, a University of Washington professor among the chosen scientists, told the New York Times the images are “really useful,” since climate change specialists “have no way to send out 500 people” across the polar caps to take similar measurements.

The program is not without its detractors, however, including Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., who called the creation of the CIA Center on Climate Change and National Security “irresponsible.”

“In times of peace and prosperity, this center would completely defy common sense,” Barrasso said in a statement last week. “But today, only two weeks after a terrorist attempted to blow up a plane over our country, this center is absolutely ridiculous. The CIA’s resources should be focused on monitoring terrorists in caves – not polar bears on icebergs.”

Federal officials reportedly told the Times the program has little or no impact on current intelligence gathering, since it relies on information already archived or collected when sensors are passing over empty wilderness.
