I came across this by way of Brutally Honest and the Anchoress. Looks like it originated at Michelle Malkin’s. But here’s the gist of it:
waaaaaaahhhhhhhh!
We were driven onto the island in a bus late at night. They drove us all around the island before we could get off. I later learned that the reason for this tactic was to disorient us and to make escaping more difficult.
Woopeedoo. Did it work?
Immediately after the bus came to a stop military personnel boarded the bus and the verbal assaults which seemed to never end, commenced. We were kept awake for the rest of that night and through the next day. While we waited on line for shots and other medical procedures the verbal abuse continued. Some of us were so exhausted we fell asleep standing up.
Wow. So your medical needs were taken care of and they made sure you didn’t have rabies–but you continue to complain about it. Sticks and stones can break my bones, but words will never hurt me. Didn’t you learn about that in school, you big pussy?
They took the clothes off our backs and made us all wear the same clothing. Handing out the clothing was a military woman who screamed and cursed at us worse than any of the men. This was most humiliating.
Wow that stuff about women is too much to bear! Did she wipe her menstrual blood on you, too? No?
Next they shaved our heads. Then they made us fill out forms in freezing cold room while they mocked us. To eat we got a sandwich which was half frozen. There were other food items included with the sandwich but the men in uniforms confiscated them.
Aww. A cold sandwich, in what sounds like heat. At least you were given food! In the gulags, they weren’t given much food until they realized that slave labor isn’t very profitable when your slaves are dropping like flies. Some of them reported losing their teeth because their food was basically water and bread. What. No slave labor? Sounds pretty cushy. But awwww. Somebody stole your cookie! We’re going to have to complain to someone about that! That’s awful!
One of the men with me was so afraid of the military men in charge that he didn’t ask to go to the bathroom and just urinated on himself. This brought the scorn of the military men and the entire group was punished for the act of the individual.
Big fat baby. Next time they should give you some depends along with your prayer rug, the sign in your cell that tells you where mecca is, your cap, your cup, your Koran and all the stuff they give you to make life beautiful in prison-that is not covered by the Geneva convention. You probably already complained about it to your 24-hour-a-day-Imam.
Often we were made to stand stiff and straight for what seemed like hours while the blazing sun beat down on our hairless heads. If we moved even to wipe the sweat from our eyes the military men became ferocious. Coughing and sneezing were also forbidden. We were forced to shave our beards daily. Some of us were even given the added humiliation of being required to shave twice per day.
Pretty rough. I don’t know if I could handle it. I’d be screaming after just a few hours…stop! stop! I’ll tell you everything!
By merely excluding a few facts from the narrative and spelling my name backwards (my real name is Kieran Michael Lalor) a reader can be completely mislead. The events described above actually occur in boot camp, but taken out of context they appear far more extreme than they are in reality. Sleep deprivation, embarrassment, verbal abuse, and discomfort have been hallmarks of boot camp for all of the military services for decades. No one with any credibility denies that this type of tough training is an effective and necessary method of turning undisciplined young people into the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines that comprise the greatest military force in the history of mankind.
If similar tactics can be used to keep prisoners in-line or to generate innocent life saving intelligence, certainly such tactics are legitimate. To put discomfort and humiliation under the heading of torture, obscures and diminishes the horrors of actual torture like Saddam Hussein’s regime perpetrated on its own people or what the communist North Vietnamese did to American servicemen.
??? C’mon. These people are ridiculous asses. When our guys went to Abu Ghraib, there was still blood on the walls from what they did to their prisoners. You know, pulling teeth out with clamps, pulling out fingernails, chopping off fingers, that sort of thing. They did OPERATIONS on them. They tested CHEMICALS WEAPONS on them. What a bunch of ridiculous wimpy ass crybabies.
You want to know what real torture is? Take a look at what happened in the Soviet Gulags and the fact that those people and their descendants are still stuck there-with no way to get out. Rusty has a great piece over here about the ridiculous comparison between Gulags and the detainees at Gitmo, here is some of it, in part.:
While the prisoners at Guantanamo complain of periodic guard abuse, Koran flushings, and no judicial review by US civilian courts, the victims of the gulag were busy dying by the millions.
But what also needs to be remembered is that the gulags were not just a place for men, but for entire families.
Susanna Pechuro retells the horrors of the gulags:
The most horrible thing I saw in a camp was how children were taken away from their mothers. Because it’s something you can’t live with. And there are some things I don’t let myself remember, because if I do I get insomnia for several weeks remembering those screaming mothers after their children have been taken away from them, [screaming] because they will never know where these children are being taken, to what orphanages. I’ve never seen anything more horrible than that, even though I also saw people beaten up. But nothing more horrible than the separation of children and mothers. And this can never and should never be forgiven. No matter what communists say now, the social structure which made it possible will never be pardoned.
Remember, not one single person has been killed at Gitmo. Their crying and Amnesty International’s ridiculous half-baked story about abuse should not be gaining traction. They didn’t do much about Saddam’s abuse of his people, I guess a fascist dictator is all right–just as long as he kills his own?
Rick makes fun of what is characterized as “torture” according to these creeps.

I wrote the article “The American Military Tortured Me†excerpted above. You missed the punch line. What is being described are my experiences on Parris Island when I was Marine Corps recruit in the Summer of 2000.
The second half of the article makes the point that by simply taking some facts out of context a writer can completely mislead the reader.
We are on the same side here. The Left is torturing the word torture to the point where it has no meaning and undermining the war effort.
Here is the rest of the article which was originally posted on http://www.citizen-journal.net :
Anti-war zealots, so-called human rights organizations, certain politicians and members of the media would use the term “torture†to describe the events chronicled above. However, the acts of so-called “torture†occurred while I was a Marine Corps recruit on Parris Island, SC in the summer of 2000.

The Abu Ghraib prison guards need to be held accountable and punished not for embarrassing terrorists but for posing for and taking pictures while on the job when a reasonable person should know that such photo opportunities were unbecoming a soldier and that publication of the pictures would undermine our war effort.
Draping an Israeli flag over a captured terrorist and having women sit on a detainees lap has been described as torture. This is ludicrous. How as recruit I would have loved to trade arm-aching push-ups for a little flag draping. As far as having women sitting on laps; I’d like to see a survey of how many of our boys at Fort Bragg or Parris Island or Great Lakes would object to that.
What is most puzzling is that so many of our elected leaders, journalists, and self-proclaimed peace activists are willing to let true torturers who rape, meme, cripple, and brutalize off the hook, by stretching the definition of torture to the point where it is meaningless while unfairly demonizing the U.S. government and the American military and shamelessly abetting our enemies.
Mr. Lalor, a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, is the founder and executive director of the Eternal Vigilance Society. For more information, visit http://www.eternalvigilancesociety.org.
Umm, I guess there is something to be said for reading the whole article, eh Cao?
Wow, I even thought you were better than this.
The point we made is the same. If you didn’t notice, he’s agreeing with me. I’ve changed it to include the text and make the point that is missing….that the “abuse” described happened as a young recruit in the military. I haven’t changed anything that I’ve written.
I love that. “Wow, I thought even you were better than this”
I’m on medication in case you missed that-and in incredible pain–which I don’t complain about much and I’m not using it as an excuse. I’ve said several times that I should probably quit trying to blog because I’m missing things-forgetting things-all because of the pain I’m in. I keep trying, though, and I don’t mind it that people are pointing mistakes out. It’ll just keep me on my toes. Thanks, Kieran Michael Lalor. And BTW, I think I’ve used several of the pictures that are up over there–but I didn’t find them at Citizen Journal-the stuff over there really travels! I’ll make sure the site is on my blogroll.
Well then, I hope you get better soon, so we can continue our oh-so-friendly discourse.
It’s friendly from my side, of course, in true terrorist form, you’re kicking me while I’m down. At least I’m not bound and blindfolded so you can shoot me in the back the way the REAL terrorists do. Not really much consolation since your position on the war is the same as Bin Laden and the terrorists’…
You really should go over to Iraq and join in the fun. Maybe Afghanistan, even. Why not join the likes of John Walker Lindh and Azzam the American while you join them in hissing about Bushitler’s war crimes?? oops, you already did.
I don’t get Chris’ point at all. He’s berating Cao for doing and interpretation of an article in which the author of the article comes over and agrees with her interpretation? Weird.
And I have to admit, as I was reading that post, I was nodding in agreement, saying, “Hey, I’ve done that. I remember that happening to me.”
Ouch, that really stabs me in heart Cao.
Orge, besides Kender, I would not expect you to get my point. I wouldn’t want you to think or anything. God forbid…
What heart?
Damn Cao, I’m not even around and I’m getting mentioned. That’s making an impact.
Chris? I had to click on your link to see who you were, as I couldn’t place you, even though you mention me as if you know me….then I saw your site and thought, “Oh THAT sewage pit”….I seemed to have made an impact on you enough so that you remember me…..you will take note that your impact on me was a quickly forgettable experience.
In short, you, apparently, have NOTHING that grabs the reader and makes an imprint in their mind…..I, on the other hand, seem to have the opposite effect.
Now I know why someone has a show (or two), while someone else does not.
Might I suggest some tabasco or another tasty condiment to “spice up” your web presence?
Right now you’re suckin’ hind *** vanilla boy.
Cao how are you doing?Have you had Surgery yet?If yes I wish you a speedy
recovery!:smile:I would like to know also who pays I am Nasty Internatinal? We should be able to as B5 would say bust these screwballs chops! They need it!They should get off their asses and out of those high rise dwellings they call home and actually find out what a gulag is instead of giving stupid opinions subjects they know nothing about! The problem with them and groups
like them other than their hatred of America, is that they are sheltered to much.I even got mad enough last year and called Human Rights Watch and ripped into them about their hypocrisy ,and just gave them a piece of my mind.I belive it would be a great thing if a bunch of Americans would light a fire under these guys and let them know that they aren’t fooling everybody here!
No, Lisa, no surgery is in the works–still working through physical therapy and I scheduled an MRI and an EMG today. After I get those results, I think we should be able to take this for another opinion. Thanks for asking, btw.
Oh, you really got me with your wit there, Chris. Make no point, just garble some words together, then act like only you get the point. Well you’re right — only you in your looney-tune fantasy world get the point. You really showed me, huh?
Hey. Kieran has a great organization that he didn’t even try to hawk called the Eternal Vigilance Society. It’s really cool. Take a look here.
before digging yourself too far into a hole you’ll regret later, you might want to read this story, entitled “Guantanamo log reveals interrogation techniques…” the link to the story is here… too bad we get better news from australia than we do at home…

As a 1972 graduate of BUD/S, Mr. Lalor’s expriences at Parris Island would have been a cakewalk compared to 26 weeks of BUD/S. Nothing personal there, Marine!
As for you, profmarcus, I did read this log and quite frankly there is nothing there that many of us that served in the military did not experience as part of E&E training. I saw nothing that led to any physical injury or any actual methods of torture. Now you may be too weak kneed to survive this bit of humiliation and discomfort, but just because you are, does not make this torture in any sense of the word. Though had they played some of the rap music I have heard of late or hung pictures of a semi-nude Janet Reno around their necks, that may have been a bit much. Perhaps these terrorsits you are so concerned about, should have thought twice before waging war against the US.
Cao, I am quite flattered to be a fellow contributor with you over at Patriots for Bush. I have admired your blog for some time now and have been re-miss in adding you to my blogroll. I have correct this error and I will accept 50 lashes with a wet noodle as punishment.
Sailor
I am pleased and honored, sir, and would be happy to cook the noodles to which you refer,
And thanks for stopping by, Sailor, I can always use the support. Fisking moonbats in comments gets tiring, although I enjoy it immensely.
It’s unfortunate that these elitists are so soft and have such weak stomachs that they consider playing Christina Aguilara music torture.
Those logs are a joke.
So I guess it’s no surprise where Marcus in Australia is coming from. No other point of view should get through, should it? And because that’s all he sees, it validates his hatred of America, I guess. tssk tssk. How the following compares with cutting of hands, feet, fingers, ripping out teeth, is beyond me.
Wow. Isn’t that just tough? That could be college hazing, or kids on a school bus. That sounds just like what Kieran talked about in his boot camp training.
I read about a third of the post and I’m thinking, “man that reminds me of basic, at Ft.Jackson”. They called us names that were really mean, said nasty things about my mom, made us crawl in the dirt and all kinds of cruel and unusual things, we even had to take gang showers!
One time me and another recruit weren’t washing the huge pots in the mess kitchen fast enough..They down right tortured us.. We had to clean the grease pit!!! Guess what, that was 1966, I’m here to tell you about it..
I have to believe the detainees at Gitmo are wimps and crybabies..
We used to say “if you can’t run with the big dogs, stay on the porch”.
I think we should open-up a basic training camp for the lefties..if you don’t make it through camp, you have to shut-up about Bush and the war on terror and quit trolling right wing blogs, cause you’re not man enough!
I make a great pesto to go with those noodles, Cao.
Profmarcus, you indeed lead a sheltered life. It is extremely fortunate for you that there are those who are not as weak-kneed as you to protect your right to free speech. Were it left to people like you, there would be zero free speech in this country. Yes, in your world, slapping someone is torture. But your world is very, very small.
And Sailor, that sounds pretty good to me!
