I love Karl Rove, and the dems are dum

Being that so many libs/leftists have come here complaining about a “Rovian Conspiracy” and Karl Rove is a Nazi and all that other hogwash, I got wind of what he said in his speech about democrats and 9/11 and I couldn’t help but laugh.

“Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers.”

bwhahahahahaha! Who can argue with THAT? These guys think the guys who are cutting off heads would make a good houseguest, apparently and would happily put them up for the night. Even leftists in Europe are starting a 10 Euro campaign (only the leftists look like such sorry sots that they probably can’t afford the 10 Euros) to fund the terrorists in Iraq. That is practically impossible to imagine, but it’s actually happening! How are the democrats in the US any different?

Turns out that far-left groups in western Europe are carrying on a campaign dubbed Ten Euros for the Resistance, offering aid and comfort to the car bombers, kidnappers, and snipers trying to destabilize the fledgling Iraq government. In the words of one Italian website, Iraq Libero (Free Iraq), the funds are meant for those fighting the occupanti imperialisti. The groups are an odd collection, made up largely of Marxists and Maoists, sprinkled with an array of Arab emigres and aging, old-school fascists, according to Lorenzo Vidino, an analyst on European terrorism based at The Investigative Project in Washington, D.C. “It’s the old anticapitalist, anti-U.S., anti-Israel crowd,” says Vidino, who has been to their gatherings, where he saw activists from Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Italy. “The glue that binds them together is anti-Americanism.” The groups are working on an October conference to further support “the Iraqi Resistance.” A key goal is to expand backing for the insurgents from the fringe left to the broader antiwar and antiglobalization movements.

Senator Richard J. Durbin, Democrat of Illinois, had the nerve to compare American mistreatment of detainees to the acts of “Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime – Pol Pot or others.” Whose side are these guys ON, anyway? And how far left does it sound that tricky Dick is, as compared to the Maoists Marxists and Fascists?

AWWW. Let’s get some more sensitivity training so that we’re more sensitive to the NEEDS of the terrorists.

Rove also pointed out (and NRO says Rove was right about Moveon.org):

“In the wake of 9/11, conservatives believed it was time to unleash the might and power of the United States military against the Taliban; in the wake of 9/11 liberals believed it was time to submit a petition.” Rove continued: “I am not joking. Submitting a petition is precisely what MoveOn.org did. It was a petition imploring the powers that be to ‘use moderation and restraint in responding to the terrorist attacks against the United States.’ “

All I have to say is Karl Rove, you rock and I hope you continue to have the balls to say the truth to the American people, despite liberals like Ted Kennedy who are foaming at the mouth like a bunch of rabid dogs over it. If democrats are going to keep backing up moveon.org, they’re going to keep further distancing themselves from reality and the rest of the American people.

…there is solid evidence that MoveOn did in fact oppose the war in Afghanistan, and that MoveOn founders Joan Blades and Wes Boyd hired Pariser in significant part because of his activism against the war.

Of course! That’s part of the signature of these yellow-bellied sapsuckers.

Ted Kennedy’s recent comments to Rumsfeld are absolutely unbelievable.

TED KENNEDY: Secretary Rumsfeld, as you know, we are in serious trouble in Iraq, and this war has been consistently and grossly mismanaged, and we are now in a seemingly intractable quagmire. Our troops are dying, and there really is no end in sight.

Our troops deserve better, Mr Secretary, I think the American people deserve better. They deserve competency, and they deserve the facts. In baseball it’s three strikes and you’re out. What is it for the Secretary of Defense?

DONALD RUMSFELD: Well, that is quite a statement. First, let me say that there isn’t a person at this table who agrees with you that we’re in a quagmire, and that there’s no end in sight. The suggestion by you that people – me or others – are painting a rosy picture is false. I think that the comments you made are certainly yours to make, and I don’t agree with them.

For people to say that democrats are even REASONABLE and living in REALITY is beyond the imagination. They’re totally unhinged. The fact that the Iraqi people are thankful for what we did and grateful that we’re sacrificing American blood and treasure is apparent on the faces of the children who are delighted to see American troops–to the point where the soldiers have had to ask them not to come running toward their tanks when they come riding through- and their parents grateful smiles. You can see evidence of this at Michael Yon’s Online Magazine. Michael Yon is reporting from the frontlines, not some cozy hotel in Baghdad.

Awesome job! Disney was fun for my son, and miserable for me…hehe. Thanks for the call, it meant so much.
While on vacation my wife got me a book…I want to share some of it. The name of the book is “Why I Am A Regan Conservative by Michael K. Deaver”. I wanted to share something out of the first chapter…the words of Robert L. Bartley….” Being a Conservative gives you a grip on reality. At least, that’s waht I think I’ve learned over my lifetime. Conservative principles and conservative approaches start in the real world as it exists, not in some imaginary utopia. While this certainly doesn’t preclude reform and improvement, it does make you feel likely to get carried away by the purely abstract.

Robert ends the chapter with an excerpt from a poem by Rudyard Kipling called “The Gods of the Copybook Headings”:

With the Hopes that our World is built on they were utterly out of touch.
They denied that the Moon was Stilton, they denied she was even Dutch.
They denied that Wishes were Horses; they denied that a Pig had Wings.
So we worshipped the Gods of the Market Who promised these beautiful things.
When the Cambrian measures were forming, they promised perpetual peace. They swore, if we gave up our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.

  2. Jay

continued…But when we disarmed they sold us and delivered us bound to our foe, and the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “Stick to the devil you know.”
On the first Feminin Sandstones we were promised the fuller life.
Which started by loving our neighbor and ended with loving his wife.
till our women had no more children and the men lost reason and faith,
And the Gods of the copybook headings said: “The wages of sin is death.”

In the Carboniferous Epoch we were promised abundance for all, by robbing selective Peter to pay for collective Paul; But, though we had plenty of money, there was nothing our money coul buy, And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said, “If you don’t work you die.”

Then the Gods of Market tumbled, and their smooth tounged wizards withdrew, and the hearts of the meanest were humbled and began to believe it was true.

That All is not God that Glitters, and Two and two make four– and the Gods of the Copybook Headings limped up to explain it once more.

This comment may seem out of place here, yet I feel it is very to the point here.
Most do not know or care about the laws of cause and affect. Here is a grand one: “What you resist persists”
Why, because you focus energy on it. Anything that has energy focused on it grows. That’s just a physical and spiritual fact.
If you want to make someone go away, or piss them off – ignor them. Do not give them the attention and publicity of a reply. Act as if they do not exist – go on without even looking at them. That will take the wind out of their sails, the will dry up and blow away. Will it take a few times – sure, persistence is not the same as resistence.
This us against them attitude does nothing but keep the battle going. Who is big enough to stop the cycle?? All will win if enough people will just try it.

  7. Gary

You may have helped make my point, but I will ask – How do you oppose them?
When I said go on, I did not mean to sit it out. I’ll see what your opposition is before going on.

  8. Gary

Ok, so I am going on, or off anyway:

The thing that pisses me off is this oppositional stance. (the demos seem to have that as a platform) I feel that it is naieve to think it will accomplish anything. Not to sit it out, my point is to promote what you want. Promote your agenda, work for it – all the while ignoring the “opposition”. Answering a cheap shot only empowers it.

I guarantee more will come about.

Nothing turns voters off more than negative campaigning. By all means promote your ideas. Prove them better and gain in the process.
The law of cause and affect may be hard to grasp in political arenas, but it is there, working, despite what you know.
Myself, I am tired of both sides. All I see is bickering and infighting – not much work being done for those who pay them. The people of the United States – and we deserve better!

  9. Gary

    A post script:

Be better and prove it, rather than stoop to the level of……….
Believe me, the voters will notice.

  10. Mustang

Gary: What in the hell are you talking about? Sit what out? Do you mean, it is better for us to sit around and suffer another Bill Clinton? Should we sit around in the face of government lethary and wait for the enemies of the US to come and shoot us in our homes? So you are saying that in order to win, you have to sit around with you head up your ***?

I don’t think so, partner. That may be your point of reference, but it isn’t mine. America deserves PROACTIVE citizens who’ve decided that they have had enough of getting kicked around. Our nation is worth the effort. Now, if you don’t agree, that’s okay. There will always be people like those who serve in uniform, who put their lives on the line, to save you while you’re “sitting it out.” (Sorry Cao, I just hate weenies).

If conservatives don’t speak up, all we’d hear from the left is a constant, defeatest yammer of ‘like-nazis, Abu Ghraib, quagmire, another Vietnam, we’re losing, blah, blah, blah.’ If it weren’t for conservative blogs and news media, the left would really have turned Iraq into another Vietnam. If we ignored the ranting of Democrats and the left, you can be sure the MSM wouldn’t — big media is dedicated to pushing the left’s agenda and if conservatives don’t fight back, the left won’t be starved of all publicity — They’ll just be the only voices anyone ever hears.

  12. Ken

My dear Gary, it seems your hearts in the right place. I’m wondering about the activity just north of there though.
You see, appeasement is accomplished by inactivity as well as active participation. Our counter attacks on the left are productive and promote awareness. To sit idly by and allow attacks to go unanswered is not the Conservative way. Inaction is a Liberal tool. That is the way they want America to handle the war on terror. To turn our back on Durbin would be to promote what he says.

The greatest damage done by Durbin’s remarks was not to the ‘Voters’, It was our Troops that were put in greater danger by the remarks. To simply sit by and ignore something like that would be akin to America ignoring the evil goings-on in Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union.
The great Sir. Winston Churchill once explained this while trying to convince America to join in and push back the advancement of evil. He said,”What would happen if all these neutral nations were with one spontaneous impulse to do their duty in accordance with the covenant of the league and were to stand together with the British and the French empires against aggression and wrong? At present their plight is lamentable and it will become much worse. They bow humbly and in fear to German threats of violence, comforting themselves meanwhile with the thought, the allies will win, each one hopes that if he feeds the crocodile enough, the crocodile will eat him last. All of them hope that the storm will pass before their turn comes to be devoured. But I fear and fear greatly, the storm won’t pass. It will rage and it will roar ever more loudly, ever more widely. It will spread to the south, it will spread to the north. There’s no chance of a speedy end except through united action.”

You see Gary, we have to face and confront evil in our time! It cannot be ignored. Believe me the propaganda distributed by the Left is potentially as evil as that published by Joseph Goebbels.
    I hope that helped.

Did you read what I said ??
You have missunderstood. I did not say sit it out.
    Read me again.
I did say promote – - I just want the name calling and badmouthing to stop – so real work can be done.
Mustang probably jumped to an emotional response, rather than listening to the meaning I promote. We all do it at times – but that too must end — listen, you just might hear something.

“Anything that has energy focused on it grows. That’s just a physical and spiritual fact.” “If you want to make someone go away, or piss them off – ignor them.”

Gary, this isn’t a playground where you simply ignore the kid who’s throwing a tantrum over his turn on the monkey bars. And your point about stooping or bad mouthing – Karl Rove was being very realistic. It wasn’t an episode of name calling.

Someone told me, not long ago, that in order to counter what is wrong and allay your fear of it you must first give it a name. Karl Rove gave it a name. Apologetics.

  18. Gary

Ya know guys, I really am on your side – I just want to improve it.
Ok, you mentioned Hitler, let’s add Saddam. The disgrace is not that they killed so many but that they killed so many before they were stopped.
My comments were not so much about Rove or Kennedy, but about the bigger picture of how politics is crippling this great country. Now I realise politics is basis, yet I stronly feel it is out of hand. We deserve better from those we pay to run OUR business. (all of them)
If they really went to work for us, rather than throw words back and forth, just imagine what “we” could be talking about instead of this ****!
In this post I was called a “Name” and ridiculed because my phylosophy scares and confuses – oh well!
The Us against Them attitude is killing us people. We are all in this together, and will need to come together before it all falls apart.
Who is it that stands back and watches the bully in the playground and know what is going on? Stand back, take that look at things – see if there isn’t some improving to be done by us all.

It starts with a good vote, writting some letters to instruct “Our Employees”, and working together.

I am sorry my “Ignore them” comment was not heard correctly. Watch them as you work to be better and overcome them!
    Sound better?

  19. Gary

Let’s look at Kennedy’s comment about a quagmire. Looking at it differently than most – I would say he may be right. Not the war, but politics as usual Is the quagmire.
Far too often, politicians are more intersted in their well being, and that of the “Party” than to truly act for the people who pay them. So who is in control here?
    Think about it…………

  20. Gary

“What we should be doing is to seek and support candidates who say what they mean and mean what they say and don’t change their minds with the polls–and really represent their constituents.”

I agree. We really are on the same page, just different eyes.

Who really holds the purse strings??

  23. The MaryHunter

Yo, Gary, not wasting my time with you either, but check this article out, for a little refresher as to why we’re over there (and why we like the terrorists over there, not over here) – whether you’re against the war or not. To quote:

It is not the war for democratization. It is not the war for stability. Democratization and stability are not unimportant. They are among a host of developments that could help defeat the enemy.

But they are not the primary goal of this war, which is to destroy the network of Islamic militants who declared war against the United States when they bombed the World Trade Center on February 26, 1993, and finally jarred us into an appropriate response when they demolished that complex, struck the Pentagon, and killed 3000 of us on September 11, 2001.

That is why we are in Iraq.

On September 12, 2001, no one in America cared about whether there would be enough Sunni participation in a fledgling Iraqi democracy if Saddam were ever toppled. No one in lower Manhattan cared whether the electricity would work in Baghdad, or whether Muqtada al-Sadr’s Shiite militia could be coaxed into a political process. They cared about smashing terrorists and the states that supported them for the purpose of promoting American national security.

Saddam Hussein’s regime was a crucial part of that response because it was a safety net for al Qaeda. A place where terror attacks against the United States and the West were planned. A place where Saddam’s intelligence service aided and abetted al Qaeda terrorists planning operations. A place where terrorists could hide safely between attacks. A place where terrorists could lick their wounds. A place where committed terrorists could receive vital training in weapons construction and paramilitary tactics. In short, a platform of precisely the type without which an international terror network cannot succeed.

…and then read Bush’s speech over again, to see why it’s not a quagmire. Plenty of links to that in your favorite lib rag.

Well, at least you didn’t cuss Cao out, a point in your favor. Or, did I miss it?

  24. Gary

No, you missed the part about same page……….as well as the whole point of my comments. I never spoke against the war, or for it. So as long as I ask Stupid questions – What did I say?

  25. The MaryHunter

That’s just the point, isn’t it, Gary… I really couldn’t tell. “Quagmire,” for one, though, your context was obscure. Nice try.

Alas, I thought you said BYE.

Really, I’m trying to be polite.

  26. Gary

Yes, and BYE again..with this parting reply – (you opened the can again)

Quagmire – I plainly indicated my feeings that politics as usual IS the the US Quagmire……………and all I ask is that you all help fix that – not add to it!

Wow, another mindless, dickless nationalist who can talk **** but can’t back it up. Bush speaks for himself. The man is an idiot, you know it, but you’re too caught up in black and white rhetoric that only simple minds can understand. It’s obvious to anyone who isn’t a dum hick that Bush is full of ****. But don’t take my word for it, watch as Bush’s war continues to be a disaster and he goes down in history as the worst president ever. He has spent our social security, pretty awesome huh, you think so but I can reason. Furthermore, I won’t argue with you because you don’t understand concepts unless there over simplified. Daniel, just remember that Jesus kicked some serious *** in the Temple. How dare you use the name of Jesus on Cao’s Blog to attempt to make a clever point! (Alas, you need to be intelligent in order to be clever, even by half.) Or, perhaps you’re all for religious freedom, and therefore I bet you resent the ACLU for trying to airbrush Christianity from our society like so many Trotskys out of so many pictures of Stalin.

Someone, I have to go clip my toenails, please explain that last bit to him… oh wait, I found a link.
