Year after year, one of our nation’s most powerful labor unions continues to slip its leftist agenda past an ever-gullible public and impressionable young students.
There’s a really old piece here about the NEA and their radical agenda and how they’re slopping it all over our children while we’re away at work, trusting that they’re learning all about their ABC’s, learning how to read, and perhaps even learning their math tables without a calculator (ha!). But Michelle has a post up that talks about what happened at their national convention that shook me up a little bit….
The National Education Association recently had its annual convention, where it called for President Bush to withdraw our troops from Iraq, vowed to defeat the Central American Free Trade Agreement, and resolved to educate about the need for debt cancellation in underdeveloped countries.
And you wonder why Johnny can’t read.
She says “Shut up and Teach!”
Heh. We don’t need more teachers, we need more home schoolers.

For a long time, the NEA has been more interested in propagandizing than in teaching. The NEA’s leftist position is one of many reasons that I went into private Christian education and, later, into teaching groups of politically-incorrect homeschoolers.
