There you go in typical leftist fashion, defending Saddam Hussein. Perhaps you should take a look<a href="http://iraqitruthproject.com"> at this movie for</a> some of the reasons Saddam Hussein should have been taken from power. Many who've seen the mass graves and talked with the Iraqi people want to know why it took us so long to remove him from power.

<blockquote>"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs."
Letter to President Clinton, signed by Sens. Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and others Oct. 9, 1998.</blockquote>

There is so much more on this including the 1.2 tons of enriched uranium that was air lifted out of Tuwaitha in 2004, and Obeidi's components and drawings for the gas centrifuge that was turned over to the Americans after the war began--but...I guess the point is lost on people with only a few brain cells who desperately want to believe that Bush is at fault for all that's wrong with the world right now.

that's all fine and good, but iraq never attacked us. you mention unprecedented attacks, and certainly 9-11-01 was a disasterous event, but it wasn't iraq doing it.

treason would be actively trying to undermine the security of the united states. what pearcy does in his front yard -- on his private property -- does not do that. it is offensive crap, but it's his right to do it on his turf (just as it is your right to post any offensive crap you might wish to post on your page if you so chose to do so).

just as you are yelling over pearcy's fence, i've used the reply function you've enabled to let you know that you're more like the "islamo-fascists" by advocating violence against an infidel than you are different.

you get the last word on this one. i'm done.

Whatever "reservations" you have about my little treason hunters contest which Mustang won, btw...is neither here nor there. You can have all the "reservations" you want, just as I have mine about Stephen Pearcy and what he's attempting to accomplish.

The fact that you whine and complain about mine being worse than his...or somehow more inappropriate than this just makes me want to laugh..except for the fact that the Anti-American anti-military crap like Pearcy's is the same rhetoric against the US as the islamofascists are talking. Hence, it's siding with the enemy in a time of war, which is defined as treason. And it's too bad if you don't like it, it's a fact, jack.

Nobody asked for your comments here, mm. And you're right, it's not a dictatorship, there are a lot more factors involved than blaming one person for America's problems.

Leftists seem to be very good at that, in case you haven't noticed, with the Bushitler meme and complaining about Bush's war, etc..

I just find it interesting that Pearcy's "freedom of speech" which can be described as treasonous, is defended while my freedom of speech to do the same thing is not.

My sons are both in uniform and they aren't happy with the anti-war people and their disgusting message.

Pearcy's stupid message and his cry for attention isn't helping the 19-year old kid who is stuck in Baghdad wondering if he is ever going to come home alive with these pathetic anti-military art displays or Pearcy's negative attention seeking front yard theater. That doesn't help this kid's morale to know that people - any people - at home do not support him. He doesn't see the "nuance". He doesn't weigh your life experiences against those of the mission to which he is assigned. He is trying to stay alive and do the best job he can because that is the shortest route home. And what about the young woman who had to leave her children at home and her college studies behind because her Reserve unit got called up? Does it do any good for them to see the image of a soldier with a noose around his neck? Does she refuse to do the job she signed on for at the risk of her family's welfare? Her world does not have a single thing to do with the little effigy of the American soldier and it does her no comfort to learn people feel she is fighting for Bush’s agenda. She’s <em>not</em>, she’s there on her <em>own agenda</em>. Do you think anyone but someone who shares your point of view benefits from it? Not at all. The service-members know that any little bit of good they do in Iraq or Afghanistan is an improvement of the life they lived under their former rulers.

Pearcy's front yard theater and artwork at the courthouse and his pathetic need to be heard in the media only hurts our men and women in the Middle East, Afghanistan, and other places around the world. That's is my problem with your point of view and how it is displayed. It hurts the morale of the fighting force. He and others like him are working in parallel with those who would kill them. As long as you oppose, you support another point of view. In this case, he is supporting evil, close-minded, misogynist, fascist terrorists and killers who do not differentiate between their victims as proved around the world with every timed, homicide, or road-side bomb. These people are far, far worse as individuals and through action than the president ever will be. And supporting them as a matter of what…? Principle?

Attack the president all you want if you feel his vision and reaction to unprecedented attacks against our country and his desire to hold a dictator accountable for his commitments and his failure to honor them.

Everything happening in the world today has an effect on our national security. The failure of communism and socialism made sure of that. Right now, anything that has to do with fundamental Islam, oil-rich feudal regimes, or theocratic totalitarian Islamic governments is a national security concern. The failure to recognize this fact encouraged the 30+ terrorist incidents and 5000+ deaths of American civilian, government and military employees we have endured since the early 60's not to mention the thousands who have died from other countries. If you think the current president is to blame for all of our woes, you have not been paying attention.

And thankfully others have been paying attention also, but it is too bad we are only now beginning to fight back.

You might be interested in the story of Victor Marwick, who was killed by a jihadist group after he helped Turkish police hack a computer network these “religious” types were using in a child pornography ring. The guy was blown out the roof of his car by a shape charge under the driver’s seat.

Terrorism is real. I know it isn’t exactly a concern in Berkeley, but it is to those of us who leave the comfy confines of the United States and venture out to do work in the real world. Terrorism does not concern itself with who is in the White House. These people hate us plain and simple.

I don't recall many people (except Congressional Republicans) marching and opposing Clinton's little UN-less unilateral wars. I do not recall the marches to bring our troops home from Germany, Italy, the UK, Kosovo, Bosnia or any other European country in which we have permanent bases. What about the protests to bring our troops home from Korea? I fail to see the consistency in this anti-military anti-war point of view when it is solely concentrated on Bush and the war he is fighting.

Listen to the rhetoric of the islamo-fascists whether they are in Iraq, Saudi, Pakistan, the UK, Canada, Afghanistan, France, Germany, or Egypt, they all want the same thing, to replace the Western way of life. They could care less who our president is or who leads the UN. They want to replace our way of life - your way of life - with something archaic and backwards based on a religion which is far harsher on our “tolerant” society than the most fundamental Christians will every be. How many Christian honor killings have your heard of? How many Christians have lost their hands over theft? How many adulterers have been stoned to death by Christians? How many Christians have you heard declare their desire to form a theocratic government?

I think many leftists fail to grasp just how bad jihadists, wahabbists, islamo-fascists, and those who support them want to eradicate our way of life and your little utopia. Would you rather we wait until they come back to America to attack us here again? They will. They did after the first time the WTC was attacked. They did after their plot to attack the UN, the traffic tunnels of NYC, and other places of interest on the 4th of July was foiled. Look at the history of terrorist attacks and explain to me what approach you think would begin to put a stop to their attacks. Terrorists come back if given the chance no matter who is in the White House, at 10 Downing Street, or in Turtle Bay.

If you are worried about living in a country interested in winning some kind of global popularity contest, move to Switzerland. They are about the only ones in the world who have accomplished a consistent popularity among the other countries of the world.

If you think the most effective manner in which to share your “message” is with the theater or "art" displays you people seem to prefer, then go ahead. But don’t expect other to appreciate your “educated” point of view. It’s not considered “educated” by those of us who have actually faced the issues you whiney spoiled hateful people protest from afar.
