Democrats would still have voted for the war

At this article Dave Eberhart says it is clear that the majority of democrats in Congress would still have voted for the war. At one point, David Rockefeller, D-W.Va., said, “We in Congress would not have authorized that war – we would not have authorized that war with 75 votes if we knew what we know now.” So Ted Koppel decided to find out if this were true and disocovered otherwise:

Koppel’s findings, which aired on ABC Radio late Friday night, directly counter Rockefeller’s suggestion that the Senate would not have strongly endorsed the war against Iraq.

Koppel reported: “We wanted to see whether the conclusions reached by the Intelligence Committee would have made any difference to the other senators who voted to authorize the war in Iraq, so we called them.

“Of the 42 we reached, only three said they would have changed their minds had they known then ‘what they know now.’

“Among those who say they would not have changed their minds, a number of prominent Democrats, including Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer and Tom Daschle.”

Despite the media buzz last week that suggested the U.S. Congress may have been hoodwinked by the Bush administration and a politicized CIA into voting for the Iraq war, many leading Democrats apparently do not see it that way.

That article is dated July of 2004. Do you think this situation has now changed? ahhh who cares? They’re just a bunch of lying scumbags. I just listened to and then WATCHED the NARAL ad. I can’t BELIEVE what they were trying to get away with saying. Don’t George Soros’ patsies know English well enough to know that the American people aren’t going to fall for that? I really wish they would have run it, it would have been fun talking about that around the water cooler. Leftists sure are getting more shrill because more people are realizing how stupid they are…the stupid rhetoric is unrelenting, but it sure is amusing if you get in the right place in your mind to look at it that way. Couple that with Dick Durbin’s false story about John Roberts, and they’ve made a laughing stock out of themselves.

Pearcy is out protesting in Sactown tonight on Broadway. He’s basically 5 blocks from his house in front of the original Tower Records. Check kxtv.com to read about it tonight. It’s hotter than hell out there today. I’d go this evening to watch and throw eggs but I have better things to do. That’s a pretty screwed up corner as well, I hope no kids get hurt. Not a real safe place in the evening.
