I have never lnked to Instapundit for many reasons, his affinity for the ACLU being just one of them. In fact, there are many large mainstream blogs that I I will not link to.

I know I had never gotten around to linking to Instapundit, and the only mention of Glen Reynolds is my Alliance pseudo-quote where is does not really say I must be destroyed.

No problem, Oyster. As far as his jumping on the “social issues” and promoting things like teaching “the world to sing in perfect harmony”, Van Helsing, I’m sure that he welcomes your support.

I’ll find some other way to help the victims who were touched by this natural devastation–rather than sign onto blue organizations and pour more good money into them.

Thanx, Cao. I appreciate that. Now as far as Reynolds goes. I’ve never paid that much attention to him to begin with. I have occaisonally gone there and read something he said and found I agreed with him. What your post will do though is give me cause to maybe pay closer attention to him and make my own mind up.

That’s all we’re here for anyway, right? To share ideas. I’m just a little more cautious and sometimes slower to come around. Other times, I’m happy to lead the charge.

Frankly, I don’t think we need the ACLU. We have a glut of lawyers in this country and if a cause is good enough, many will gladly do pro bono work. The ACLU has allowed themselves to become a tool of the left and in many ways ignored the poor who can’t afford counsel and have real needs. Not just some idiot who is offended by school prayer or someone with a long criminal history who just wants a retrial.
