This is too incredible. Published on August 18 by Ben Johnson over at Frontpage, I could hardly believe my eyes when I read this:
Sheehan has become the poster girl for the antiwar Left, because her status as a grieving mother renders the 48-year-old Vacaville, California, native more sympathetic than Medea Benjamin, Ramsey Clark, or Michael Moore (whose website hosts Sheehan’s blog). However, neo-Nazis, Klansmen, and racist extremists have also begun gathering around the Gold Star Families for Peace founder.
But that’s not all;
Cindy is also popular at the American Nationalist Union. ANU is run by Don Wassall, former national chairman of the Populist Party, a racist third party organized in 1984 by Willis Carto’s Liberty Lobby; in 1988, the party nominated David Duke for president. Duke is not the only figure on the White Wing to embrace Sheehan. The explicitly Nazi National Socialist Movement backs her, as well. NSM “Commander” Jeff Schoep entitled one recent radio broadcast “NSM SUPPORTS CINDY SHEEHAN,” then devoted a second broadcast to Sheehan the next day.
The racist website Altermedia.info jumped on the bandwagon early, posting multiple articles hailing Cindy Sheehan. One article, written under the pen name “Charles Coughlin,” dubbed the menopausal valley girl “The Rosa Parks of the Peace Movement,” an awkward metaphor considering the source. Another article, authored by “James Buchanan” (another great Democrat), hinted the “Neo-Cons” had solicited the services of the redneck who fired shots into the air within earshot of Sheehan and her leftist Big Top.
This just backs up John Ray’s “Hitler was a socialist”. It’s hilarious to me that people call “rightwingers” nazis. Or use the Bushitler meme. Have you seen any of us link to–or garner support from nazis or anti-semites the way Cindy Sheehan has?
With admirers like the people at Stormfront and the Nazi National Socialist movement, it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure out what side of the spectrum Cindy and her jew-hating friends are on…it is certainly far removed from the conservative view of the world…actually, IMO, it’s far removed from sentient beings; people with common sense, and people who truly love their country.
Cao, this woman is insane and needs a straight jacket. I really am sick of hearing about her. I really thought the hurricane coverage would take her out of the spotlight. I really can’t take anymore of this woman. Its really getting me sick.
Sorry, Jay, I thought this post really indicates how far off that Bushitler meme is…and who really has the support of the nazis…and it isn’t us.
The fascistas’ positions that everything emanates from the government—rights, goods (food, clothing, shelter), protection from all the evils of the world (hurricanes, tornadoes, the Eeeeevil Joooos) and indeed happiness itself—is something demagogues depend on to persuade the lazy, the greedy and the morally bankrupt to give them power.
It is this evil cabal of statists supported by its lazy, greedy immoral base that CinCin appeals to. The same base Hitler, Islamofascist butchers and other hate-mongering demagogues have appealed to within living memory.
You have to admit: their tacit understanding of man’s fallen nature—an understanding made obvious by continual appeals to all that is corrupt in their audience—is at least based on truth. Otherwise, how would such people garner any support at all?
