ABC is developing a despicable track record of firing outspoken conservatives. Melanie Morgan (the Chairman of Move America Forward) has been fired by KSFO Radio.
In an email to me she writes:
You may have heard that this Friday, September 30th I was suddenly relieved of my duties as the morning host of the “Lee Rodgers & Melanie Morgan Show” on KSFO 560 AM – San Francisco.
No, I hadn’t heard that, Melanie, but I’m terribly saddened by the state of the alphabet networks. In a speech at the rally on September 25, one guy said the alphabet networks are our own version of Al Jazeera. There is more and more evidence that supports that.
What’s interesting to me is Melanie is the chairman of Move America Forward, and Move America Forward was responsible for the organized pro-American response to Cindy Sheehan’s anti-American tour across the country. Had it not been for Melanie’s grassroots movement and partnership with other organizations like Free Republic and Protest Warriors, I doubt that we would have seen conservatives coming together to respond to the World Worker’s Party sponsored tour of Cindy Sheehan. (International ANSWER -one of the groups in the forefront of the Anti-war movement is a front group for the World Worker’s Party)
Morgan noted her firing comes on the heels of the termination of another talk-show host who worked for an ABC station, Michael Graham of WMAL in Washington, D.C.
As WorldNetDaily reported, Graham was fired after refusing to apologize for making comments linking Islam with terrorism.
Said Morgan: “My agent and I have been in contact with the station management. Since I announced on the air on Friday that my employment with KSFO was over, the station has been flooded with phone calls and e-mails. I am hopeful that in the coming week we can come to an agreement on the issues that remain. Until then I will be off the air.”
Complain directly to KSFO here and select “General feedback for KSFO”. This is an outrage!
G Gordon Liddy noted that you haven’t really become a conservative talk radio celebrity unless you’ve been fired several times. Well I guess Melanie and Michael are well on their way.
Update 10-6 11:43 am: I just received reply from the webmaster at KSFO Radio–Melanie Morgan was not fired, she was in contract negotiations. Melanie returned to the morning show on Tuesday morning.
And thanks to The MaryHunter and The Berbikr (sp?)–this is what I get for acting on old unopened emails. Everything can change–on a dime.–Although I didn’t see any indication anywhere this morning that she was back at work on Tuesday…and nothing in my email to that effect, either.
OMG, I had no idea either!
I just saw her at the Support the Troops rally! I’ll have to ask Bergbikr about this, I believe he is a regular listener of hers (or was).

Last Friday this caper created quite a stir on KSFO – Melanie bailed out or what? Mail flooded the station and conspiracy theories abounded.
On Tuesday Lee Rogers and Melanie laughed about it all saying that “this was just business.” Turns out that her contract had expired with negotiations still ongoing and she punctuated the process apppropriately – especially for that feisty lady. Whether there were some issues other than work conditions and renumeration, we’ll probably never know.
That was our “fifteen minutes of fame” for Left Coast conservative talk radio.
