This is one of the most horrific crimes I’ve ever read about. Hugh Christopher Newsom, Jr., 23, and Channon Gail Christian, 21, went on a date, but never returned home. The reason is, they were carjacked, taken to an apartment, and brutally tortured, raped and murdered.

Chris and Channon were kidnapped and driven to 2316 Chipman Street where they were forced into the home at gunpoint. While Channon was forced to watch, her boyfriend was raped prison style and then his penis was cut off. He was later driven to nearby railroad tracks where he was shot and set afire. But Channon’s hell was just beginning. She was beaten; gang raped repeatedly in many ways, had one of her breasts cut off and bleach poured down her throat to destroy DNA evidence—all while she was still alive. To add to Channon’s degradation the suspects took turns urinating on her. They too set her body afire, apparently inside the residence, but for some reason left her body there—in five separate trash bags.

Duke kids did nothing and were humiliated nationally for weeks. Whites get killed and it is hidden. Why is there no “hate crime” here for a crime whose sole purpose was nothing more than to have sick fun with some white people.
The media feels the average American is gullible and easily manipulated. Anyone who reads this story can obviously see it is a hate crime in which the media wants to hide. How can someone actually watch a human being being treated like this and at the same time join in. This is obviously done by ingnorant, savage animals who deserve nothing better than a bullet.
My opinion as well as many others would love to have the opportunity to do to them what they did to that unfortunate young white couple who only wanted to eat at a restaurant. In some cases like this, an eye for an eye.
I certainly hope they put a hate crime enhancer on this one!

I served in US Army. I seen violence, but this unthinkable crime against two precious kids. I think the silence of the media is frightening. I have to warn my family…and some of the distorations and claims the comments written involving the death Of Channon and Christian is out right seige on whether we as a community are gonna fight back. We cannot afford to compassionate towards criminals like these..

The allegations in the court case alone are chilling. The falsehoods being used to heat up controversy over the case are disturbing. Here are the most common claims circulating on the Internet and in some traditional media, compared with statements from court records and authorities familiar with the Christian-Newsom double homicide.
Fiction: Christian was held captive 4 days.
Fact: Christian was dead within 24 hours of the kidnapping.
Fiction: Christian’s breasts were cut off and Newsom’s ***** severed.
Fact: Neither Christian nor Newsom was mutilated, although both suffered tearing injuries from being repeatedly raped.
Fiction: Christian was dismembered and placed in five separate trash bags.
Fact: Christian’s intact body was wrapped in trash bags and dumped in a large garbage can.
Fiction: Acid was poured down Christian’s throat.
Fact: A cleaning solution was poured in Christian’s mouth in an apparent attempt to wash away DNA evidence.
Fiction: The slaying suspects allegedly targeted white people.
Fact: The slaying suspects have told authorities they targeted Christian’s Toyota 4Runner.
Riiight.
Making excuses for the perpetrators of this crime by trying to minimize the horror of it is really sick.

If you’re so serious about debunking the ‘facts’, you should go and clean up the wikipedia entry, then, which also makes reference to the things you’re calling ‘fiction’ in this story.

I’m not willing to jump on the PC train and make excuses or claim that ‘her mouth was being cleaned’ instead of ‘bleach was poured down her throat’ to destroy DNA evidence. If her mouth was ‘cleaned’, why use bleach to do it? Either way, if there was bleach poured in her mouth or down her throat, the result would be the same, now, wouldn’t it? And what is the point of drawing a distinction there? To make it less horrible?
Shame on you for coming here and disrespecting the dead and their famlies who still have to live with this horrible reality every day.

I did not know this crime happened! I can not believe it! It was so horrible and… such… I don’t even know what to say! When you look at the pictures of the person’s that did this, they just look like a regular person you would see in a store and maybe smile at or something! And then you look at the picture of Channon and Chris and you just can’t imagen what they went through and how someone could do this to another person! It’s so shocking, and to think people are making this about race!! That’s ******* crazy!!!!! It’s just four crazy mentaly ill people killing two innocent happy go lucky kids!!!! This is just so emotional. I am deeply sorry for the families of Chris and Channon! I hope they can heal and feel better. And also for the families of the ones who committed the crime, they should not be blaming this on race! Those days are and should be over, this is about justice and the fact of right and wrong! And that they should be punished for their sins to the fullist and Chris and Channon should be laid to rest and their families should hopefully one day feel peace as well.

I think the absence of the story from national media outlets had much more to do with political correctness. Had this been a crime that five white individuals perpetuated against a young black couple, the story would have been all over the news. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would have a field day, and everyone would be crying “hate crime.” However, since the crime was committed by five black individuals against a young white couple, there’s not a peep in the national media because media outlets fear that reporting extensively on such a story will be interpreted as being politically incorrect or racist.
I think this crime is horrible whether it be black on white green on blue is not important the moral turpitude or lack there of of these defendants is disheartening to anyone who believes in the goodness of human beings. The trials Cobbins and Davidson have shown me there is no defense that even their lawyers could come up with to these crimes. I think the sickest thing is as a woman the fact that Vanessa Coleman allegedly stood by and watched and heard this poor girl crying for help and did nothing to stop these monsters. I have seen and heard about some horrible crimes in my life but to me this is as gruesome as the manson murders of 1968. My heart truly goes out to the friends and family of Chris Newsom and Channon Christian as I find much admiration for you I dont have children I cant imagine but if it were my mother, brother, sister, niece or nephew I proably would have tried to torture and kill them myself.
