ACLU: Let’s Stop Them

Here’s why the ACLU is the American Communist Lawyers Union. Some of the ACLU’s founders were…

Roger Baldwin, the first director of the ACLU, was a communist. He explains in his book, Liberty Under the Soviets, “I joined. I don’t regret being a part of the Communist tactic, which increased the effectiveness of a good cause. I knew what I was doing. I was not an innocent liberal. I wanted what the Communists wanted…”

William Z. Foster, then National Chairman of the Communist Party USA and an ACLU co-founder, is famous for this 1932 quote: “The establishment of an American Soviet government will involve the confiscation of large landed estates in town and country, and also, the whole body to forests, mineral deposits, lakes, rivers and so on.” He was the author of Toward Soviet America.

Another co-founder was Harold J. Laski, renowned English socialist and political scientist. Among his writings is the Communist Manifesto of Marx and Engels: with the original text and prefaces.

Rev. Harry Ward, the “Red Dean” of the Union Theological Seminary in New York City was Chairman of the ACLU in 1920. In 1908, he was the founder of the oldest, officially-cited Communist-front group in America, the Methodist Federation for Social Action. A year later, he played a part in organizing the Federal Council of Churches, forerunner of the present day, National Council of Churches.

A. J. Muste held a degree from Union Theological Seminary. When war broke out in Europe, he became a pacifist, inspired by the Christian mysticism of the Quakers, and started working with the fledging American Civil Liberties Union in Boston. In 1929 Muste helped form the Conference for Progressive Labor Action (CPLA), seeking to reform the AF of L from within. When the Depression broke like a storm over America, the CPLA became openly revolutionary and was instrumental in forming the American Workers Party in 1933–a “democratically organized revolutionary party” in which A.J. played the leading role.

Scott Nearing, whose left-wing politics first drove him into, and then forced him to leave, the Socialist and Communist parties, was an early ACLU leader. He ran for Congress on the Socialist Party ticket in 1918 against incumbent Fiorello LaGuardia. He was soundly defeated because of his anti-capitalist, pro-socialist, anti-war positions.

Eugene V. Debs, who founded the Socialist Party of America, was a five time Socialist Candidate for the presidency. Debs, the only candidate to run for U.S. President from prison, was an ACLU activist.

John Dewey, radical philosopher and early ACLU activist was interested mainly in education. He asserted that “democracy has always been allied with humanism, with faith in the potentials of human nature” and that “democracy means the belief that humanistic culture should prevail.”

Elizabeth Gurley Flynn, another early ACLU leader, was born into an active socialist family. Her father was an organizer for the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW), and she joined that organization at age 16. Flynn joined the Communist Party in 1936, and she was active in the CP for the rest of her life. She went to the USSR in 1964 to represent the CPUSA at an International Party Congress. She became ill, died in the Soviet Union, and was honored with a state funeral in Red Square.

Louis F. Batons was another prominent leader of the Communist Party and an ACLU activist.

Jane Addams, another ACLU co-founder, was a pacifist and an advocate of internationalism. She participated in the International Congress of Women at the Hague in 1915 and maintained her pacifist stance after the United States entered the war in 1917, working through the Women’s Peace Party, which became the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom in 1919. She was the WILPF’s first president.

Norman Thomas was a leading American socialist, pacifist, and six-time presidential candidate for the Socialist Party. He was a co-founder of the ACLU, and became a socialist while attending Union Theological Seminary.

See this: Decades of Shame: A Short History of the ACLU

There is no question that the ACLU’s history is not that of freedom-loving Americans, but of people who are carefully using our own founding documents to take away our freedom.

The ACLU’s holy war against the Boy Scouts, the LA County Official Seal (containing a tiny Cross), holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas — and even the Constitution itself — has unmasked the ACLU as a tyrant less interested in civil rights than imposing judicial restraints that amount to suppression of majority rights by a tiny minority.

Under the guise of ‘protecting American civil rights’, The ACLU has sued to;

- Halt the singing of Christmas Carols in public facilities.

- Deny tax -exempt status for Churches.

- Remove all military chaplains.

- Remove all Christian symbols from public property.

- Prohibit Bible reading in classrooms even during free time.

- Remove In God We Trust from our coins.

- Remove God from the Pledge of Allegiance

- Deny federal funding for Boy Scouts until they admit gays and atheists.

You can join the fight against the ACLU and their ilk by becoming involved with and supporting the following organizations:

Alliance Defense Fund (ADF)

Thomas More Law Center (TMLC)

American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ)

The Rutherford Institute

Stop the ACLU Coalition

Here are a few examples of how two of those organizations are fighting back:

ADF Contacts Over 3,600 School Districts Over Attempts To Censor Christmas

ADF: 700 lawyers ready to fight ACLU lawsuits

ADF: Pentagons’ Warning About Boyscouts Is Absurd

Hey, Cao! Excellent…. and I’m sure you have a similar post on Planned Parenthood ;-)

Just FYI, the “here and here” links to check out senators and reps BOTH lead to the same check list for senators….

Have an EXcellent day (gee, now I’m channelling Bill and Ted…?)

    Best,
    R’cat

  3. Excellent post! Great research. Can I borrow it for my blog?

  4. Cao says:

You bet! Hehehehe I love your name!!! Spread the word!

  5. I hope you don’t mind, but I linked to your blog from mine.

  6. Cao says:

I don’t mind at all. I encourage people to do that if they find something interesting to share with others. The point is; it’s important to get the word out.

  7. Dan says:

Cao great post. Have you read Treason by Ann Coulter? If not you should I highly recommend it.

  8. Cao says:

I just got finished with “How to talk to a liberal (if you must)”. I think some of it rubbed off on me, lol….

“Treason” is on my wish list. I read 3 books while I was off the last couple of weeks, that’s more than I usually get to in 2 weeks.

    Thanks for the recommendation!

  9. Amy Allen says:

    I completely concur!

  10. Todd says:

Thanks for reminding me to renew my ACLU membership–our numbers, by the way, have surged since Shrub took office…about 400,000 members now!

  11. Cao says:

Thanks, Amy, I do my best to write stuff that’s relevant and that people should know about. Usually it’s from conversations with people but sometimes it’s from visitors who spark an interest in a subject.

  12. Todd says:

So you only allow posts that agree with your point of view? Why doesn’t that surpise me?

  13. Paul says:

The ACLU is like a sore tooth. It comes and it goes.

  14. Cao says:

Note to Todd: Get a dictionary but oops what good would that do without a brain?

For those of you who can’t add 2+2, the HUGE picture of the girl with her tongue sticking out (which is in plain view) and the corresponding title to the post, I’ve been having problems with trackback spam. So I have a filter on. And the filter is slowing things down. Ok, Mr. I-can’t-see-what’s-right-in-front-of-me? It’s no wonder you guys are called moonbats, lol…

Yes, Paul, and I found something terrible out today that I’m sharing with everyone tomorrow.

  15. The ACLU are mean-spirited a-holes.

This is a great post and quite an enjoyable site. If you don’t mind, I’m gonna link to you from my blog. Keep up the good work.

  16. Kender says:

I have been ranting on this very subject…thanks for the extremely well researched post. (sidenote; todd IS the aclu…crawling around the web looking for folks to sue

  17. Cao says:

Please do, Nickie, and let me throw a meatball at you as a friendly welcome.

  18. Cao says:

Kender, I have no doubt that ACLU members are frothing at the mouth about the things I’m posting about them, lol…hell, I have a whole section here devoted to them. Thanks that info is both creepy and weird.

  19. Dianne says:

Here’s an article you seemed to miss.

The ACLU also sent a letter to the Rev. Todd Pyle of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Stafford County, who was told by a park official last Sunday that no baptisms were allowed at Falmouth Waterfront Park. Rev. Pyle had just baptized 12 church members at the park, briefly submerging them in the river, when he was informed of the prohibition.

The ACLU assured Rev. Pyle that he has the same right as anyone else to use the park and offered to assist the church use the river for baptisms in the future. The ACLU also offered to assist other religious groups that have been denied their right to use public parks.

  20. Cao says:

It is no surprise to me that you are connected to these people, Dianne. No surprise whatsoever. How do you sleep at night knowing what you’re doing to your fellow countrymen?

This is happening all over the country, I’m fully aware of it. I just chose this particular item because I wrote on it before. But thanks for the heads up. Folks, here’s one example where the ACLU is “supporting the rights” of Christians. One measly example.

    Taking Christ out of Christmas

    Here another one.

Washington, DC – Atheist activist Michael Newdow has filed a request for an injunction from the U.S. District Court to bar “engaging in Christian religious acts” related to President Bush’s inauguration.

“This is the day we have been warning America would come,” said Rev. Louis P. Sheldon, chairman of the Traditional Values Coalition. The coalition and other leading Christian organizations are sponsoring Christian Inaugural Eve Gala to celebrate the inauguration.

“It is appalling that Christians are being singled out by Mr. Newdow for this sort of harassment,” said Rev. Sheldon. “If any other religious group was being targeted for demotion to second-class citizenship, the ACLU and the liberal lobby would be shrieking. Today, they watch silently as a court considers taking another step towards barring the free and public exercise of religious beliefs.

“Mr. Newdow should be ashamed for seeking this injunction against his fellow citizens. We, as Americans, need to awaken and deal with these threats to religious liberty, cynically disguised as ‘civil liberties’defense.”

Mr. Newdow gained national prominence for his lawsuit to remove the words “under God” from the Pledge of Allegiance.

Leave it to Dianne Maire to try and defend the ACLU. hehehehe un.be.lievable.

  21. Beth says:

The ACLU also offered to assist other religious groups that have been denied their right to use public parks.

 Pardon my eye-rolling cynicism, but it’s a PR move. These are the same people (and I use the term loosely) that defend NAMBLA and the Klan. I’m sure said religious groups can defend themselves quite well.

  22. Beth says:

HEY! Where’s my comment!!!! LOL

  23. Jay777 says:
