Vulgar Kid Rock to Perform at Inauguration

Kid Rock represents everything that Values Voters voted against in the last election. For information on Kid Rock, click here.

For those of you who don’t think Kid Rock is so bad because he was mainstreamed with that recent song with Sheryl Crow (who is also a lefty), just remember this guy is extreme. He dedicated his first album to songs about oral sex and was voted the “Sluttiest Male Celebrity” at the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards. Is this someone we should have perform at Bush’s Inauguration? Don’t think so. Couldn’t we get a more appropriate and elegant singer who represents more of what America stands for?–I mean this is an important event!

We asked a few of our supporters to call the Presidential Inauguration Committee (PIC) and ask that Kid Rock be uninvited. We were hoping that this situation would be resolved without becoming a major issue. Those who called were told that what AFA had said about Kid Rock performing was only an Internet rumor, that AFA did not know what we were talking about and that AFA was not telling the truth.

Elisabeth Bumiller, writing in the January 3 edition of the New York Times, confirmed that Kid Rock would perform. She wrote: “The Bush twins, Jenna and Barbara, will be hosts of the youth concert, where the teenage singer JoJo will appear along with Kid Rock.” An article in WorldNetDaily also confirmed Kid Rock’s appearance.

Don Wildmon called PIC once on Thursday and three times on Friday and asked to speak with Mr. Greg Jenkins, Executive Director of PIC. Each time he was told that he was busy. Don left messages for Mr. Jenkins to please return his calls. He did not. Don contacted a U.S. Senator’s high-level staff person who did speak with Mr. Jenkins and asked him to please call me concerning the situation. Still, no call.

I urge you to send an email asking PIC to uninvite Kid Rock, and then forward this email to a least one friend. After you send the email, please call and ask that Kid Rock be uninvited.

The following information will also appear after you send your email. PIC’s number is 202-863-2005. If the phone is busy, call until you get through. If you do not get a satisfactory answer, I suggest you call the Republican National Committee. Their number is 202-863-8500. Ask them to express your displeasure with the choice of Kid Rock. Maybe RNC can convince PIC to uninvite Kid Rock.

Thanks for caring enough to get involved.

Sincerely,

Cao on behalf of Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman of the American Family Association

I don’t know a lot about Kid Rock, but most entertainers have a history that may not be politically correct. I do know that he has enetertained our troops overseas which counts for something I think. Who should perform at the Inauguration?

  3. The question Paul is why Kid Rock, not who should? But since you asked, how about any number of conservative yet popular country singers? My memeory fails me right now but there are several, some even visit Sean Hannity on his radio program. It would probably be music appreciated by more of those who voted for Bush than Kid Rock.

    Could be worse…could be Eminem…

What about Josh Groban or Cheley Wright or Faith Hill? How about Clay Aikin? There’s gotta be somebody better for this occasion than Kid Rock, for cryin’ out loud. What about Daniel Rodriguez, the singing cop? Or the Mormon Tabernacle Choir or something? Sheesh.

  6. Yea the Morman Tabernacle Choir. I hadn’t thought of them. And yes prissed, it could be worse, but it IS bad enough.

He’s not playing now-I heard. I also heard that he was going to do his thing for a youth gathering section of the event-for the young GOP members. Supposedly Barbara and Jenna asked him to play…He is vulgar, but kids love him nonetheless.

  8. Dee-Dee says:

It was announced today that Kid Rock will NOT be performing.

Of course, Kid Rock is a staunch conservative who campaigned for W in the 2004 election and entertained the troops in Iraq. That was why he was considered for this particular performance. Folks may not like to admit it — but Kid Rock is one of those “values voters.” So you have to ask just what all values the GOP embraces these days.

After all, the GOP used $240,000 in taxpayer money to produce “covert propaganda” with Armstrong Williams, they threatened their own Ethics Chairman with firing for being so mean to Tom DeLay (who’s about to be indicted), and the first act of the new Congress was to pass a rule change making it harder to investigate ethics violations of sitting Congressmen. Sounds like Kid Rock’s act would fit in perfectly with that attitude.

La Shawn Barber has a lot to say about that guy–in this piece.

There are some real gems on both sides, I’ll grant you. Doesn’t mean we all endorse every one of them across the board. Read what LaShawn has to say. She’s not proud of that guy. I am not a mindless moonbat, barking at the moon-I actually take a look at what people stand for, as I’m sure a lot of “values voters” do. I look at what they’re doing and if they practice what they preach–or if they’re a poor representation of the people. And then I vote accordingly.

For you to hold up that example after Clinton and what he perpetrated on the American public–must be embarrassing for you. Democrats have spent at least 50 years of taking the wrong stand on every single conflict in memory click here. Without exception, they have sided with the enemy. The release of that little-known revelation of truth (reference the Verona Project) further punctuates the point, so I can’t see how the barking moonbats of Idiotaria can look any more ridiculous at any point. We just watch and take note of it, laugh our arses off and add it to the ever growing list. Even contrast what Rather tried to perpetrate against the president but he stuck to the story even when the story was exposed as plain out-and-out fraud, Rather didn’t even lose his job immediately (as he should have) while Williams’ bad judgment cost him his column. Seems like there’s still quite a bit of bias here and it’s bias in favor of left field. But, of course, that’s common knowlege now.

Here’s an interesting little tidbit from history: On the same day the Declaration of Independence was adopted, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson were the members of a committee to come up with a seal for the brand-new United States. They suggested an image of Israel crossing the Red Sea and Moses lit by the pillar of fire, with the motto: “Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God.” (The seal was never adopted, but a copy of the recommendation survives in the papers of the Continental Congress.)

Just a few words on the old WMD story…although as usual, a lib has changed the subject from the original post. I know this is way off-topic for the comments on this post, but here is more information on the WMD story-

Wait a minute here… if you are going to say that President Bush was wrong, you should add at the bare minimum the following names: Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, Madeline Albright, Sandy Berger, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Tom Daschle, Robert Byrd, Carl Levin, Bob Graham, and of course Nancy Pelosi. All these aforementioned Democrats, and many others have at one time or another made statements saying that Saddam Hussein was developing weapons of mass destruction, or had them. (See Glenn Beck’s “What Did The Democrats Say About Iraq’s WMDs”). As you’ll see, many of these statements were made before George W. Bush was even elected President. The information these Democrats used to make these statements about Iraqi WMDs came the same place that gave them the information to say similar statements years later after President Bush came to office.
