The eyes and ears of thousands will be inspecting closely every word spoken by IVAW testifiers since, according to IVAW press release, the Congressional testimony is billed as being under “oath”. A few calls for “proof” (date, time, place, witnesses, leadership, and unit involved) would be appropriate…generalities may be satisfying to a gullible media or politically correct congress, but when our warriors and nation’s policies are potentially defamed and distorted, only facts and credible evidence will be acceptable.
There was nothing of substance reported at the WSII National Labor College event so we can expect the IVAW tilted crystal ball to fabricate additional fantasy, if this appearance actually occurs.

Washington, DC - On May 15, members of Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) will testify under oath before Congress about their eyewitness accounts of the military occupation of Iraq. Testifiers will include veterans who served during the surge.
This testimony represents a shift from reports to Congress from high-level commanders and political appointees to direct accounts from boots-on-the-ground soldiers and Marines about the situation in Iraq. Testifiers will detail the ineffectiveness of the “troop surge,” the dehumanization, abuse and killing of innocent Iraqi civilians, and the breakdown of the military as a result of the ongoing occupation of Iraq.
Testifiers will include Luis Montalvan, who served two tours in Iraq as an Army Captain; Jason Washburn, a US Marine Corps Infantry Rifleman who served three tours in Iraq; and Kristofer Goldsmith, who served in the Army as an Artillery Forward Observer in Sadr City, Iraq.
“The time has come for Congress to hear about the occupation from the soldiers and Marines who have seen it first-hand. Petraeus continues to repeat the administration’s talking points while ignoring what the soldiers on the ground know: the Iraq occupation is not working,” said Kelly Dougherty, a former Military Police Sergeant in Iraq and Executive Director of IVAW.
Winter Soldier on the Hill is a continuation of Winter Soldier: Iraq and Afghanistan (WSIA), held at the National Labor College from March 13-16, 2008. Named after Thomas Paine’s reference to soldiers who stand up for their country in its darkest hours, WSIA gathered over 250 members of IVAW and collected over 30 hours of testimony regarding the negative impact of the Iraq occupation on the military - including an overburdened Veterans’ Administration, demoralized service members and a crumbling military infrastructure.
Iraq Veterans Against the War was founded in 2004 to give those who have served in the military since September 11, 2001 a way to come together and speak out against an unjust, illegal and unwinnable occupation. Today, IVAW has over 1,000 members in 43 states, Washington, D.C. and Canada and on military bases overseas.

GOE has created another petition (http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/ivawtruthintestimony/) asking the CPC to verifiy any info that the IVAW brings to them. This petition reads about the same as the petition that was circulated for the Senate Armed Services Committee. The CPC is more of an ad-hoc group than any sort of official committee, but since we’ve been out in front of IVAW on this, we should probably stay there.

I wonder who is counting the votes, or if the American people are just too dumb to care about this frightening list. Last night when I was live blogging over at STACLU with Jay and friends, it came out that it was expected that Obama would win North Carolina and that Clinton would win Indiana. I was getting that news from MSNBC, but Chris Matthews and company were lavishing all kinds of praise on Obama to the point it was making me want to puke. They were saying that Obama appeals to the younger people, and that Clinton appeals to the old folks…basically Clinton is out dated. Axelrod was declaring victory from this point forward, and it reminded me strangely of Odinga in Kenya when he declared victory before all the votes were tallied and after the votes were counted and it was shown that he had lost.

First, what the hell is George Soros-funded, Ralph Nader’s Public Citizen Litigation Group doing supporting Larry Sinclair’s detractors? The court filings representing mzmolly, TubeSockTedD, OWNINGLIARS and the Democratic Underground were put together by Public Citizen Litigation Group. I find this incredibly interesting. Public Citizen’s involvement shows that it is going to bat for the Obama campaign…and it’s not surprising, considering that Ted Kennedy and a bunch of democrats endorse it. To my knowledge, however, its purpose was not to defend citizens from litigation - it was to go after corporations. The last I knew, Larry Sinclair isn’t a corporation.
[Public Citizen] claims to represent the interests of American consumers by fighting “for openness and democratic accountability in government; for the right of consumers to seek redress in the courts; for clean, safe and sustainable energy sources; for social and economic justice in trade policies; for strong health, safety and environmental protections; and for safe, effective and affordable prescription drugs and health care.” The means by which PC generally believes these goals can be achieved is increased government intervention and litigation against corporations — a practice founded on the premise that American corporations, like the capitalist system of which they are a part, are inherently inclined toward corruption.
They don’t, of course, take any responsibility for their being corrupt themselves.
Litigation Group: Litigating at all levels of the federal and state judiciaries, this division of Public Citizen “specializes in cases involving health and safety regulation, consumer rights, access to the courts, open government, and the First Amendment, including Internet free speech.”
Well, we can strike out health and safety regulation (because they’re the ones making death threats against Larry Sinclair; if anyone has a fear about his health and safety it’s Sinclair), consumer rights, access to the courts and open government. I guess it falls under the heading of First Amendment, including internet free speech. I guess they consider “internet free speech” such that you can tell lies and defame people under stupid pseudonyms.
It’s a “consumer rights” organization. It’s interesting to me that the Democratic Underground is consider a “consumer” here. Not that that particular side of the aisle is interesting in abiding by its own rules or that of the court, anyway…they make them up as they go along!
These people have terrorized Sinclair, called him a mental patient, and a bunch of other lies - I think they should be held responsible for it.
They object to having their star, the shifty messiah, to be forced to show up in court to answer the allegations; but seeing how artful the campaign has been to skirt the issue, I don’t see that there’s any other way to even get through to Obama or his campaign -or Axelrod, since they don’t return phone calls, and they don’t behave like human beings, or act like they need to answer to anyone. That leads me to believe it will be much the same if Obama becomes president…he thinks he knows what’s best for the rest of us, just like the moonbats at the DU, and the marxists blogging for Obama who try to generate the most flattering propaganda for the knuckledragging masses who are treating him more like a rock star than a candidate for president.
If the fact that I’m not a “marxist” makes me “right wing”, then so be it, I’ll gladly take the hit for that distinction.
The expensive lawyers who’ve magically appeared in the court proceedings in the Larry Sinclair saga have featured this blog and the comments that Larry has made here, taking his comments out of context in order to prolong this thing. Also, my blog talk radio show has become somewhat of a hit in those filings, too.
What is concerning me is their tactic of trumping up hundreds of pages of lies that have to be answered by Larry’s attorney. Larry’s attorney is only one guy - and what he’s up against is legions of the National Lawyers Guild (commie) genre. They are betting that Larry’s limited resources will help them win in the end, rather than the truth.
The ‘other side’ has revealed Larry’s social security number and other information that was not required by the court, in order to purposely put his safety even further at risk.
They continue to break the law!!!
They complain that Larry is using the courts in order for the truth to come out, and use that as the reasoning for the truth not to come out.
Larry and his lawyer need all the support we can lend them. To me this is a classic modern day David and Goliath story!!
Kudos to Larry for hanging in there!
Though Public Citizen claims to be officially “nonpartisan,” its political criticisms are aimed disproportionately at Republicans. In 2003, for instance, PC launched the website Whitehouseforsale.org, which accuses President Bush of accomplishing “his mission of destroying the presidential public financing system.” Public Citizen has also initiated BushSecrecy.org, which blames the Bush administration for post-9/11 civil liberties violations, lax regulation of allegedly carcinogenic products, cover-ups of auto-safety violations, and inadequate food-inspection standards.
So I think it’s interesting that they’re using my blog as a weapon against Sinclair…I guess anyone who identifies themselves as ‘not a marxist’ is fair game to these moonbats.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The widow of a man who died after receiving contaminated heparin told a congressional subcommittee Tuesday “we have a false sense of security” in a land where people expect to be protected and safe.
Brushing away tears, Johanna Marie Staples of Toledo, Ohio, said her husband, Dennis, was looking forward to his 60th birthday party on the last day of his life.
Contaminated heparin, a blood thinner used in dialysis and other treatments, has been connected to 81 deaths and 785 severe allergic reactions, said Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Mich., chairman of the House Energy and Commerce subcommittee on oversight and investigations.
The heparin, made from ingredients imported from China, has been recalled by Baxter International and the Food and Drug Administration has blocked imports from the Chinese company.
I think it should be more than the FDA that blocks imports from the Chinese…they have absolutely no Quality Control, as was evidenced by the lead paint, the mold in the pet food, etc.
For the second time in as many weeks, an Iraq War Veteran and his family held a Support the Troops rally across the street from the weekly “peace” protest in this college town. This week the true nature of the ‘peace’ activists was revealed for all to see. When the veteran’s 14 year old son crossed the street to videotape the protesters and their signs, the protesters became agitated and began harassing the boy. The right to record video in any public venue is long established in law and any attempt to interfere with that right is a violation of civil rights.
Seeing the escalating tension across the street, the veteran and his wife crossed over, leaving their three youngest children on the other side for safety while they went to retrieve their eldest son. Two of the female ‘peace’ protesters then attacked the veteran’s wife. When the veteran pulled one of those attackers off his wife he was jumped by four or five of the ‘peace’ people and knocked to the ground where they held him while beating him and smashing his eyeglasses.
The son pulled the remaining attacker off his mother, but the attacker managed to get in one last kick to his mother’s head with her boot. She then punched the son in his face while his mother called the police.
This all took place at a busy intersection, the mother had been knocked into the street in bumper to bumper traffic. People were visible in the windows of shops and a bar nearby. One might think someone would intervene to put a stop to the assault. One would be wrong. In a scene eerily reminiscent of the Kitty Genovese tragedy in New York, the bystanders and passers-by refused to stand up to the ‘peace’ thugs. Displaying a craven cowardice one would not have expected in middle America they would rather go on their way thankful that it was not them being assaulted. It was NOT them, today, but what about tomorrow?

Last Fourth of July, in New Jersey, one of these ‘peace’ people walked up to a young veteran of the War in Iraq and Afghanistan and shot him in the heart just because he was in the military. Last month another person or persons unknown detonated an improvised explosive device at the Armed Forces Recruiting Station in Times Square. Today a veteran and his family were assaulted in plain daylight on a public street in view of dozens of people and not one lifted a hand to help. This is not the America I grew up in. This is the Amerika the ‘peace’ crowd is bringing to your town and neighborhood.
That’s why we should continue to gather in the streets and face them down–and provide peaceful means of protecting ourselves, since it seems that the police aren’t interested in doing so, and neither are other American citizens who are nearby.

Fiona Ma, a California lawmaker who passed San Francisco’s ban on displaying corpses without consent, says the “grave-robbing” plastination industry in China dissects thousands of bodies for exhibits.
Human rights groups say some of those could be political or religious prisoners who were executed by the same Chinese government that harvests black-market organs.

“When I see pictures of the exhibit, I feel something,” said Morris Tsai, a Chinese-American of Mount Auburn, who protested at the Museum Center. “Maybe it’s in the eyes or facial structure, but I can totally see that they’re Chinese and I feel sorry for them. For we have taken advantage of the fact that since they died poor and alone, that somehow consent isn’t necessary to turn a human being into a museum piece.”He wonders how Americans would feel if the bodies were unclaimed victims of Katrina. The answer is obvious: There would be hell to pay.
“Allowing Chinese to be put on display diminishes me and others like me,” Tsai said.
I’d say parading dead bodies for profit diminishes everybody.

In a sick way this reminds me of Saddam Hussein’s parade of dead babies, or “Green Helmet” (mortician from Tyre) trucking corpses from Tyre to Qana for a morbid photo op.
These two stories are the latest in moonbattery here in Illinois.
Here is one about a Vietnam Veteran; a former marine, with a funny t-shirt, who was arrested by the Island Lake cops. I personally love the t-shirt he’s wearing. He’s been wearing it to Island Lake board meetings.
Greg Kachka, 60, faces a pair of misdemeanor disorderly conduct charges after Trustee Debbie Herrmann and Village Clerk Christy Kaczmarek complained they felt threatened by his actions.
Kachka, of 3221 Hyacinth Terrace, said the trouble started March 13 when he questioned the board’s legal fees while wearing a T-shirt with a picture of a Marine Corps sniper and the words, “Don’t Move. If You Run, You’ll Only Die Tired.”
But police said the charges have less to do with the T-shirt.
“It is what he was doing with his right hand,” Sgt. Anthony Sciarrone said. “Both of our complainants stated he made gestures where he had his index finger and thumb in a fashion portraying a handgun.”
They were afraid because he pointed his fingers at the Hermannator.
Sciarrone said police have a picture of Kachka making the gesture, taken from the board meeting videotape.
“I would not have signed a complaint if I did not feel just cause to do so,” Herrmann said. “We’ve got a job to do up there and we shouldn’t have to worry about residents being adverse to what we are doing.”
Hermann should get a life. She was making faces at Kachka the whole time, and from what he says, she is notorious for her face-making at residents. Kachka’s arrest didn’t happen immediately after the board meeting, it took them some time to build enough of a case to arrest him. Police called Kachka to tell him to turn himself in, he said he wasn’t going to turn himself in because he didn’t do anything wrong. Your fingers are not weapons! But that didn’t phase police, because the next thing you know, they’re banging at Kachka’s front door, demanding that he let them in. They put him in handcuffs and didn’t allow him to take his medicine for diabetes until after they’d arrived at the station. They were rough with Kachka, and used the reasoning that - he didn’t voluntarily turn himself in, so now they’re going to do it ‘the hard way’.
The other weird story is the one from Prospect Heights, where a little old lady was ordered by a judge to stop feeding the birds. Now we should all remember that the homes in this area sit on about a half acre, and these people are surrounded by woods….and the next door neighbors have bird feeders up, which makes this seem even more ridiculous.

Halina and Richard Rogulski said they just wanted to enjoy the freedom of watching birds feed outside their Prospect Heights home.
But on Thursday, they emptied their five feeders and agreed to comply with a six-month ban on putting out birdseed—an order from a Cook County judge who ruled against them in a neighborhood dispute.
“I was born in communist Russia, and in Russia, there was no freedom to pray . . . but not the birds. We could feed the birds,” said Halina Rogulski, 73, a Polish immigrant who came to the United States after spending three years as a child in a German labor camp during World War II.
Neighbors John and Alice Gornick had complained the Rogulskis’ feeders, as well as the dish of bird food and bread that was put out for ducks, was a health hazard because it attracted too many birds and raccoons, opossums and other critters.
The only neighbors that complained were a pair of grouches whose yard backs up to the Rogulski’s. Johnny B from the Loop went over there yesterday, and cops followed him. Johnny B was saying this whole thing is ridiculous, but when he got there and saw that the homes are surrounded by woods, and that the Rugulski’s neighbors have bird feeders in their yards, it made the complaints even more stupid, and the judge’s ruling seem like simple fascism based on the complaints of some nasty neighbors who took over 400 pictures of the Rugulki’s backyard. Johny tried to ask the complaining neighbor to let the Rugulski’s feed the birds, but the neighbor was only interested in Johnny B being escorted away from their property and refused to engage in conversation.
This reminds me of Nazi Germany where neighbors reported their neighbors and as a result, people would get carted off by the Nazi stormtroopers in the middle of the night; never to be heard from again.
“Secular” discrimination against religion is a great article at Townhall.com about the cherry-picked phrase that people keep bringing up in comments here: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,” but what they leave out is the rest of it: “or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech….”
Sadly, these freedoms of the individual are no longer respected. The ultimate freedom is no longer the freedom to speak or practice one’s religion, but the freedom to not be offended by anyone else. It is now seen as rude if one person defends their religious beliefs publicly. Beliefs about morality are no longer welcome in the public sphere. The only place left for religion is within the walls of a person’s home or church. This new understanding of religion’s place in culture has destroyed the freedom of religion which the Founder’s sought to protect. Worse yet, Americans have ceased to understand religion altogether.
This seems to be particularly prevalent in those who entered the liberal indoctrination centers after the Bible was removed from the public schools, prayer was removed, and even the pledge of allegiance attacked, because it dared to mention that we are ‘one nation under God’. This sounds more like the Soviet Union rather than America, but this is happening all over the world.
People do not realize that a “secular” public sphere inherently assumes that there is no God. Since every person’s religious beliefs impact the way they view the world, a secular sphere discriminates against those whose opinions are rooted in their belief in God. The secular sphere accepts the beliefs of the atheist—that God does not have an impact on public life. For instance, a Christian will often differ from an Atheist in his or her view of public law because their core beliefs are different. One example of this is Christians who oppose euthanasia on the basis that God gives humans life and does not give them the discretion to end their lives. In contrast, many atheists would argue that, since there is no God, humans are free to end their own lives whenever they deem appropriate. By removing God from the public debate on euthanasia, secularism discriminates against the opinions of the Christian.
It reminds me of how Hitler sought not only to destroy Jews, but went after Christians and the Christian church. He saw Christianity as an extension of Judaeism, which he felt also needed to be destroyed. So much so, in fact, that he agreed more with Islam; which teaches its adherents that Christians are the descendants of pigs and monkeys, and are less-than-human. This makes it easier to whip up a frenzy among the masses to kill the infidel.
The religion of the evolutionist that denies the existence of God is still religious, and paves the way to justify genocide.
This kind of religious discrimination is seen clearly in a recent lawsuit filed in the UK by The Christian Institute against Google. The Christian Institute sought to purchase an advertisement from Google, “so that whenever the word ‘abortion’ was typed into the popular search engine, its link would appear on the side of the screen.” Google refused this request, stating, “At this time, Google policy does not permit the advertisement of web sites that contain ‘abortion and religion-related content’”.
If Google had simply declined to allow advertisements involving the controversial topic of abortion, their decision would be completely understandable and fully within their rights as a private company. By removing a controversial topic from their advertisements they would not be discriminating against one religious view in favor of another. But this is not what they did.
Instead, Google accepted “adverts for abortion clinics, secular pro-abortion sites and secularist sites which attack religion,” while refusing to accept The Christian Institute’s “religious” ad. They did not shun the topic of abortion—just the “religious” view on abortion. In other words, they have discriminated against those whose view on abortion is influenced by their belief in God in favor of those whose view on abortion is influenced by their belief that God does not exist. This is a clear case of a company choosing to discriminate against one religious view in favor of another, and it is unsurprising that The Christian Institute filed suit against Google, claiming they had violated the UK’s Equality Act 2006 which outlaws discrimination “on grounds of religion or belief”.
Google’s policy is yet another example of the modern embracing of secularism. People no longer understand that everyone is religious.
An atheist’s viewpoint should not be promoted as that which everyone should accept, as this is discrimination against everyone else. Secular humanism is also a religion. And what’s worse is, the majority still believe there is a God, and 70% or more believe as Christians do, so this is discrimination against the majority of people in order to promote their silence in the public square.
I was thinking of this in terms of the ‘day of silence’ that the gay activists promoted in schools here in the US, which took place this past Friday here in the US. What it really represents is how public schools, with our tax dollars, are forcing the secular humanist belief system on Christian believers. This is forcing silence in the public square on those who believe in God. Because although they claimed it was a ‘day of silence’, activists were allowed to hand out pamphlets and propaganda promoting their view, and the majority were told to ‘be silent’. What are they afraid of? If their view is infallible, why not invite conversation on the topic?
Liberals expect that certain protected groups be given preferential treatment over everyone else, and this is why they are promoting the idea of some groups being ‘more equal’ than others. This is communism; a world without God; which turns it into a vicious world of narcissism where every man thinks only of himself.

UN expert stands by Nazi comments
The next UN investigator into Israeli conduct in the occupied territories has stood by comments comparing Israeli actions in Gaza to those of the Nazis.
Speaking to the BBC, Professor Richard Falk said he believed that up to now Israel had been successful in avoiding the criticism that it was due.
Professor Falk is scheduled to take up his post for the UN Human Rights Council later in the year.
This should come as little surprise. The UN is full of socialist and communist dictators - and they all join with Islamic terrorists like Imadinnerjacket who hate Israel. Israel hating and jew-hating is a very popular pastime these days - something that the nazis engaged in. But –just like meatbrain who rushes to call someone else a liar first–they point the fingers at other people and accuse them of being nazis and ignore their own socialist tendencies when Hitler was a socialist, and their own jew-hating, revising history with objections to European law which made it against the law to deny the holocaust. And what do the holocaust deniers have in common? They’re nazis! And what does the UN have in common with them?

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Video-sharing Web site YouTube has met with harsh criticism in Germany for hosting clips that incite racial hatred, according to a news report due to be broadcast on German public TV late on Monday.
The videos hosted on YouTube include clips of a 1940 anti-Semitic propaganda film “Jud Suess” and two music videos of outlawed German far-right rock band Landser, which show footage from World War II depicting Nazi military operations.

Why should the UN be any different? While demonizing Israel and claiming they’re going to send inspecters there, they completely ignore Hamas and the West Bank. Israel has the right to demand that the UN send their inspectors in to inspect the terrorists’ weapon caches. Naturally, that would be met with the same air of cooperation that Saddam met the inspectors with.
And perhaps that’s the whole reason they’ve decided to take this approach.

What this leaves out is ideology. The ideology of Hamas derives from something more enduring than “Mein Kampf,” “Das Kapital” and the sayings of Chairman Mao. It is rooted in a 1,400-year-old religion. Surely, Carter is aware that, as a matter of religious conviction, Meshaal cannot accept Israel’s existence. Hamas believes every inch of Israel and, indeed, of any land ever ruled by Muslims is “an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Moslem generations until Judgment Day,” the charter states. A Muslim can fight to reclaim this endowment or he can fail to fulfill the obligations his faith imposes. To Hamas, there is no third option.
The Hamas charter asserts, “There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad.”
Not only do Hamas members oppose a “two-state solution,” they believe that nation-states are un-Islamic. Instead, an Islamic caliphate is to be re-established, an empire that is to expand until the Dar al-Islam, the world ruled by Muslims, consumes the Dar al-Harb, the world in which infidels now hold sway.
“Rome will be conquered, just like Constantinople was, as was prophesized by our prophet Muhammad,” Hamas member and Palestinian parliamentarian Yunis al-Asal has pledged.
Does Carter sincerely think he can convince Mashaal to reject such ideas and embrace the Carter Center’s kumbaya mission of “waging peace and building hope?” Does he really believe he can change Mashaal’s mind, much less open his heart?
If so, Carter is as clueless now as he was almost 30 years ago when, on his watch as president, the Ayatollah Khomeini took power in Iran, seized America’s embassy, held our diplomats hostage and sat back to watch Carter do nothing effective in response….
That’s why we call it clueless blind moonbattery.
