Code Pink’s anti-military attacks on recruiters backfires

The Marine Recruitering station in Berkeley reports that since the CodePinko witches flew in on their broomsticks, recruiting has gone up.

Read about one heroic young man who not only has taken Code Pink on, but has enlisted in the military as a result of his encounters with the Code Pink Moonbats at Mel’s.

An excerpt:

On the Brian Sussman show at KSFO in San Francisco this evening, Leigh’s grandmother called to say that after his last experience with the CodePinkos in Berkeley, Leigh reaching a tipping point in his seething with anger at the anti-war filth that swarmed the streets.

Wolf is two classes short of a college degree in broadcasting, but he came to the conclusion that he must show the rest of the country that there are young men and women of his generation who are STILL enlisting in the fight against Islamists in Iraq and other parts of the world.

So, this young man set aside his own aspirations, and has now formally enlisted in the military.

pedophile chic: Biance’s Dereon kids

Beyonce’s new brand of pedophilia chic-by Michelle Malkin is all over the internet. Human Events, CNS, GOP USA, Townhall.com - it’s all over the place. To me, the outrage in response to these fashions should be universal.

The difference between Michelle Malkin’s website and the rest of the places where this article appears are the pictures she has up of these fashions at her website - which don’t appear in the other article reprints. Make sure you check out those pictures at Michelle Malkin dot com.

WND noted in April
that moms are taking their kids to beauty parlors to have them waxed and plucked; for microderm abrasion treatments, etc.

Quoted in that article was Carrie Denny, from Philadelphia Magazine:

“Over the past few years, we’ve seen a tidal wave of this rising luxury-class culture – you’ve seen it in these pages, manifested in reports of $80,000 ‘push presents,’ lavish condo buildings sprouting up like beanstalks, and weekends spent stockpiling couture with on-call personal shoppers. But just when we thought this consumerist takeover couldn’t get any worse, here comes the trend’s newest tributary: The kids of the pampered are being taken along for the ride, without a backward glance at the childhood left behind,” she wrote.

These “trends” are disgusting. And I thought the Madonna fashions years ago were outrageous. Michelle’s article talks about a real-life family whose daughter was dressed up in spike heels and did a pole dance with the full encouragement of her family.

To think that as a culture these things are not only acceptable but encouraged makes me sick to my stomach.

anti-war people: clueless

It says “Debunking Military Lies”, but it seems as though they don’t have enough smarts to get their facts straight. It’s always been a mystery to me as to how people would willingly become anti-American communists. When I was growing up, I learned about Lenin, Stalin, and communists in general through the heartfelt testimony of Reverend Wurmbrand, who was imprisoned by the communists in Romania and withstood the most horrible torture, and emotional and physical hardships. Now I see this same mentality in the communists who blindly stand up and cheer for complaints against our government and its handling of Iraq at the Winter Soldier II Investigation, much like the old time Russians of the Soviet Union. “Communist Propaganda” was something I REALLY learned about. And it’s sad, really, that we have to battle people of that ideological stripe who are working from within to destroy us for the idea of a utopia that will never be, as history has clearly illustrated for us.

In this post, Chicken Hawks and Critics in the Blogosphere they confuse Jonn Lilya from “This Ain’t Hell but you can see it from here” and Robin at “Chickenhawk Express.”…characterizing the articles written at Robin’s as the same as those written at Jonn’s.

There is a difference between the two that they seem to have missed over there. One is a man, one is a woman; they are two different blogs. “This ain’t hell” is written by a guy who spent 20 years in the infantry and volunteered to go active last year, for crying out loud - he’s probably the furthest from a ‘chickenhawk’ that you can possibly get.

John responds with, Do your research, IVAW

The articles they cite in that post are from Robin’s, but the last one they throw in to illustrate their point about Jonn Lilya and the evil Chickenhawk Express is from Jonn’s. It may have escaped their watchdog eyes, but they’re not one-in-the-same. And if they’re all so concerned about those ‘critics’, why don’t they throw in Denis Keohane’s website Obiter Dictum, or the Thus Spake Ortner at the Sniper? Or Rurik at Veteran American Voices, a Vietnam Veteran? After all, TSO at the Sniper and Rurik at Veteran American Voices together with Jonn, were three bloggers who attended and covered the lies told IVAW’s Winter Soldier II Investigation, and continue to keep a watchful eye on their antics before the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

The hilarity ensues…

Planned Parenthood: Kill a baby for mother’s day

Maybe I’m just getting cynical…or old…or it’s a combination of the ridiculous versus the sublime. Being that I mostly see ridiculous anymore and very little of the sublime, here’s the article from Lifenews.

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) — With Mother’s Day coming up this weekend, Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion business, has a message for moms: send us more money. Cecile Richards, the president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, sent out a fund-raising request this week one pro-life advocate says is grotesque.

Which it is, of course. The organization that was created in order to kill black babies - by Margaret Sanger, a communist…should be embarrassed about fundraising around a day that they deny their clients…MOTHER’s DAY. The clients don’t get to become mothers because their babies are killed, and the babies are killed, and deprived of life altogether. Mother’s day honors women who’ve actually carried babies to term.

Richards honored Mother’s Day by sharing part of an editorial her daughter wrote saying she got her pro-abortion views from her mother and grandmother, former Texas Gov. Ann Richards.

“It’s true that I have had lots of rewarding moments in my career. So did my mother,” Cecile wrote in the email LifeNews.com obtained. “But knowing that my daughter is carrying on the legacy of fighting that my mother passed to me trumps ‘em all.”

I’m not sure what that means…at least she LIVED. There is at least a quarter of a generation of people missing from our society now, as a result of their disastrous policy of murdering innocents.

Richard couldn’t wait until the third paragraph of her Mother’s Day letter to PPFA supporters to ask them to open their wallets.

“This Mother’s Day, I’m honoring that legacy with a Planned Parenthood Federation of America Mother’s Day gift. Join me,” she wrote.

“Honor that legacy” with a “gift”???? Tell me what kind of picture that brings up in your mind.

“You can help with a gift to Planned Parenthood Federation of America today in honor of your mother or daughter, and on behalf of all the women,” she added.

Pro-life blogger Jill Stanek called Richard’s exploitation of Mother’s Day for pro-abortion money-making purposes “grotesque” and said she couldn’t believe Richards would stoop to “using her dead mother and daughter as props.”

Read the whole thing.

Dan Rather has “too much baggage”

Too bad. Rather had talks with CNN, ABC, and NBC in 2006 about possible employment after his departure from CBS, but they refused to hire him because he brought “too much baggage.”
-
Newsbusters

So he’s suing CBS for the forged document scandal that put him in this position? I haven’t read the court docs, but it might be good for a laugh.

The fact is, he DOES have an ongoing lawsuit against CBS.

Iraq Veterans against the War to appear before their comrades

meettheneojohnssameastheoldjohns1.jpg

I couldn’t find a satisfactory commie picture of the IVAW alone, so this one will have to do. From The Two Malcontents.

The marxist IVAW plan is to bring their dog and pony show before the House Progressive Caucus, since their original efforts in Maryland didn’t go over so well. The next phase is to go over and sing to the choir in Washington; their dutiful fellow pink-o comrades in the Progressive Caucus. (Rep. Dennis Kucinich, co-chairman)

Take a look at the organizations that support the Congressional Progressive Caucus (Circus). It should give you an idea of the 70 or so Congressional members of this caucus(circus) and how they spend their time:

“An array of national progressive organizations will work to support the efforts of the caucus, including the Institute for Policy Studies, The Nation magazine, MoveOn.org, National Priorities Project, Jobs with Justice, Peace Action, Americans for Democratic Action, and Progressive Democrats of America. Also co-sponsoring the kickoff event were the NAACP, ACLU, Progressive Majority, League of United Latin American Citizens, Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, National Council of La Raza, Hip Hop Caucus, Human Rights Campaign, Association of Farmworker Opportunity Programs, and the National Hip Hop Political Convention. The CPC has long maintained cordial ties with the Democratic Socialists of America, which hosted its website during the 1990s.”

Until 1999 the Progressive Caucus worked in open partnership with Democratic Socialists of America. After the press reported on this link, the connections suddenly vanished from both organizations’ websites. -Discover the Networks

The eyes and ears of thousands will be inspecting closely every word spoken by IVAW testifiers since, according to IVAW press release, the Congressional testimony is billed as being under “oath”. A few calls for “proof” (date, time, place, witnesses, leadership, and unit involved) would be appropriate…generalities may be satisfying to a gullible media or politically correct congress, but when our warriors and nation’s policies are potentially defamed and distorted, only facts and credible evidence will be acceptable.

There was nothing of substance reported at the WSII National Labor College event so we can expect the IVAW tilted crystal ball to fabricate additional fantasy, if this appearance actually occurs.

Information as to where and when of the testimony is listed below in a IVAW press release.

Winter Soldier on the Hill: Iraq Veterans to Testify Before Congress on Failure of Troop Surge

WHAT: Winter Soldier on the Hill

WHO: Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) & The Congressional Progressive Caucus

WHEN: May 15, 2008, 9:30am-12:30pm

WHERE: 2261 Rayburn House Office Building

WHY: To present eyewitness accounts of the Iraq occupation to Congress.

Washington, DC - On May 15, members of Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) will testify under oath before Congress about their eyewitness accounts of the military occupation of Iraq. Testifiers will include veterans who served during the surge.

This testimony represents a shift from reports to Congress from high-level commanders and political appointees to direct accounts from boots-on-the-ground soldiers and Marines about the situation in Iraq. Testifiers will detail the ineffectiveness of the “troop surge,” the dehumanization, abuse and killing of innocent Iraqi civilians, and the breakdown of the military as a result of the ongoing occupation of Iraq.

Testifiers will include Luis Montalvan, who served two tours in Iraq as an Army Captain; Jason Washburn, a US Marine Corps Infantry Rifleman who served three tours in Iraq; and Kristofer Goldsmith, who served in the Army as an Artillery Forward Observer in Sadr City, Iraq.

“The time has come for Congress to hear about the occupation from the soldiers and Marines who have seen it first-hand. Petraeus continues to repeat the administration’s talking points while ignoring what the soldiers on the ground know: the Iraq occupation is not working,” said Kelly Dougherty, a former Military Police Sergeant in Iraq and Executive Director of IVAW.

Winter Soldier on the Hill is a continuation of Winter Soldier: Iraq and Afghanistan (WSIA), held at the National Labor College from March 13-16, 2008. Named after Thomas Paine’s reference to soldiers who stand up for their country in its darkest hours, WSIA gathered over 250 members of IVAW and collected over 30 hours of testimony regarding the negative impact of the Iraq occupation on the military - including an overburdened Veterans’ Administration, demoralized service members and a crumbling military infrastructure.

Iraq Veterans Against the War was founded in 2004 to give those who have served in the military since September 11, 2001 a way to come together and speak out against an unjust, illegal and unwinnable occupation. Today, IVAW has over 1,000 members in 43 states, Washington, D.C. and Canada and on military bases overseas.

From Colonel Riley (USA, Ret) through email.

More at the Sniper here and here, here

GOE has created another petition (http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/ivawtruthintestimony/) asking the CPC to verifiy any info that the IVAW brings to them. This petition reads about the same as the petition that was circulated for the Senate Armed Services Committee. The CPC is more of an ad-hoc group than any sort of official committee, but since we’ve been out in front of IVAW on this, we should probably stay there.

Please circulate this petition among your mailing lists.

Although all things considered, I’m not sure how much good it will do beyond show them that we’re watching every move they make.

Code Pink: when all else fails, cast a spell

codepink_spell_4.jpg

Since it’s May day week, the international celebration of communism, Code Pink has declared every day a day for an open assault through to protest on our Marine Recruiting Center in Bezerkely.

From Catherine Moy:

The radical anti-military group, Code Pink, finally shows the world what its membership is made of: witches and crones. Seriously. This week, Code Pink is holding a series of events and street theater to get themselves some more notoriety. You’d think it would be enough that they have attacked the Marine recruiting center and traveled the world coddling dictators and handing out money to terrorists’ families. But nooooooo!!!!

The witches of Code Pink plan to gather at their usual place of harassment, the Marine Corps Recruiting Center in Berkeley, and cast some spells to chase the recruiters away. From Code Pink’s Website:

“Friday, May 9th: Witches, Crones, Sirens: perform rituals of leaving, cast a spell of peace and love over the station, rendering nil the recruiting of our youth to become fodder for this occupation of Iraq.”
I told you I wasn’t kidding.

I wonder if we might be able to come up with our OWN street theater idea…like a “Dorothy” with a bucket of water, or a King Richard, the Lionheart.

Melanie Morgan:

So. It’s gotten down to this. Anti-war activists, frustrated they can’t call off the war in Iraq, are now calling on witches to cast ’spells.’

From Freakonomics (those freaks against capitalism): On the Legalization — or Not — of Marijuana a surprising excerpt from an article that seems to quote mainly from ‘doctors’ who promote the legalization of marijuana:

Dr. Robert L. DuPont, president of the Institute for Behavior and Health and former director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse:

Legalization of marijuana would solve the marijuana problem the way legalizing speeding would solve the speeding problem: it would remove the legal inhibition of a dangerous behavior, and thereby encourage the behavior.

Criticism of current marijuana policy typically starts by limiting the calculation of marijuana’s societal costs to the costs of arresting and imprisoning marijuana users. This way of calculating the costs minimizes those produced by use of the drug itself (i.e., the costs of treatment, drugged driving crashes, and lost productivity). When the costs related to the use of marijuana are minimized, the legalization of marijuana gives the appearance of reducing marijuana-related social costs in the same way that counting only the costs of enforcing the speeding laws and ignoring the high social costs of speeding would make legalizing speeding look like a smart idea.

Just as many people who speed do not have accidents, many people who smoke marijuana do not have problems as a result of their use, especially those who use the drug for brief periods of time and/or infrequently. The same is true for drunk driving — it is estimated that the drunk driver’s risk of an accident is about one in 2,000 episodes of drunk driving. Nevertheless, speeding and drunk driving are punishable by law because of the serious consequences of these behaviors. In all of these cases, legal prohibition serves as a reasonably effective deterrent to the behavior. For those who are undeterred by prohibition, the enforcement of the law produces escalating consequences for repeated violations.

Today in the U.S., the criminal penalties for marijuana use are mild, far more so than for speeding and drunk driving, and are usually limited to the payment of a small fine. The few people now in prison solely for marijuana use have almost all been charged with more serious offenses, and then pleaded guilty to this lesser offense.

The most remarkable aspect of the debate on marijuana legalization is the failure of legalization advocates to define the precise nature of legalization. Is marijuana to be prescribed by doctors, and dispensed by pharmacies like a medicine? If so, for what purpose, and at what dose? Doctors are not in the habit of negotiating with drug users over which drugs they would like to use for recreational purposes, and how much of the drugs they want. Does legalization of marijuana mean its sale to any willing buyer should be legal? What about the sale of legal marijuana to youth? We have not done a good job of keeping alcohol and cigarettes out of the hands of young people. There is a simple reason that it is rare to hear a description of the mechanics of marijuana legalization: all of the ways marijuana can be made legal are either ridiculous, or frightening, or both. In addition, the U.S. has international treaty obligations not to legalize marijuana, or any other illegal drug, for non-medical use.

As a public health physician, I am convinced that keeping marijuana illegal — messy as this sometimes appears to be — is in the public interest. Legalization of marijuana would lead to more marijuana use, and undermine the current prevention efforts which are reinforced by the force of law. Because more marijuana use means more marijuana-caused problems, removing legal prohibition against marijuana use would have adverse effects on the public health.

I’d love to see the people marching in this ‘global march’ today in downtown Chicago!!!

Help Stop George Soros Drug Legalizing Machine from the Soros Monitor

Why Does George Soros Want To Legalize Drugs?

His stated reasons are so bizarre they are not credible. But actions speak louder than words.

To the detriment of our society, and the entire free world, Soros contributes vast sums of money to organizations that attempt to legalize and proliferate the use of illicit drugs by corrupting politicians and promoting false information.

The millions he gives to organizations like the Drug Policy Alliance are in part used for political contributions to affect legislation that would keep the avenues open to expand the use of illicit drugs by children, where almost all addiction begins.

Soros: Described by the New York Times as “The world’s single largest donor” (Dec. 17,1996) While others give to the arts and higher education or to better the quality of the lives of their fellow men. Soros funds campaigns to legalize illegal drugs.”

Soros and his companions Peter Lewis and John Sperling have collectively invested close to $100 million to legalize and proliferate the use of illicit drugs, just in America. But they are also spending vast sums to influence politicians from Boston to Sacramento, and Stockholm to Sydney. The infiltration of corrupt legislation is deep, and if not held in check, will become irreversible.

Families of contaminated heparin victims tell stories of deaths

And of course, the ingredients that were used to make this heparin came from China. Honestly, can’t we do something about this crap being imported from China? Who’s big brain trust idea was this, anyway? Hill and Bill’s?

WASHINGTON (AP) — The widow of a man who died after receiving contaminated heparin told a congressional subcommittee Tuesday “we have a false sense of security” in a land where people expect to be protected and safe.

Brushing away tears, Johanna Marie Staples of Toledo, Ohio, said her husband, Dennis, was looking forward to his 60th birthday party on the last day of his life.

Contaminated heparin, a blood thinner used in dialysis and other treatments, has been connected to 81 deaths and 785 severe allergic reactions, said Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Mich., chairman of the House Energy and Commerce subcommittee on oversight and investigations.

The heparin, made from ingredients imported from China, has been recalled by Baxter International and the Food and Drug Administration has blocked imports from the Chinese company.

I think it should be more than the FDA that blocks imports from the Chinese…they have absolutely no Quality Control, as was evidenced by the lead paint, the mold in the pet food, etc.

Iraq war veteran and family assaulted by peace protesters

Read about it here at GOE.

For the second time in as many weeks, an Iraq War Veteran and his family held a Support the Troops rally across the street from the weekly “peace” protest in this college town. This week the true nature of the ‘peace’ activists was revealed for all to see. When the veteran’s 14 year old son crossed the street to videotape the protesters and their signs, the protesters became agitated and began harassing the boy. The right to record video in any public venue is long established in law and any attempt to interfere with that right is a violation of civil rights.

Seeing the escalating tension across the street, the veteran and his wife crossed over, leaving their three youngest children on the other side for safety while they went to retrieve their eldest son. Two of the female ‘peace’ protesters then attacked the veteran’s wife. When the veteran pulled one of those attackers off his wife he was jumped by four or five of the ‘peace’ people and knocked to the ground where they held him while beating him and smashing his eyeglasses.

The son pulled the remaining attacker off his mother, but the attacker managed to get in one last kick to his mother’s head with her boot. She then punched the son in his face while his mother called the police.

This all took place at a busy intersection, the mother had been knocked into the street in bumper to bumper traffic. People were visible in the windows of shops and a bar nearby. One might think someone would intervene to put a stop to the assault. One would be wrong. In a scene eerily reminiscent of the Kitty Genovese tragedy in New York, the bystanders and passers-by refused to stand up to the ‘peace’ thugs. Displaying a craven cowardice one would not have expected in middle America they would rather go on their way thankful that it was not them being assaulted. It was NOT them, today, but what about tomorrow?

Read the whole thing. Naturally, the nasty face of the REAL peace protesters is something the media would never show, but-

Last Fourth of July, in New Jersey, one of these ‘peace’ people walked up to a young veteran of the War in Iraq and Afghanistan and shot him in the heart just because he was in the military. Last month another person or persons unknown detonated an improvised explosive device at the Armed Forces Recruiting Station in Times Square. Today a veteran and his family were assaulted in plain daylight on a public street in view of dozens of people and not one lifted a hand to help. This is not the America I grew up in. This is the Amerika the ‘peace’ crowd is bringing to your town and neighborhood.

That’s why we should continue to gather in the streets and face them down–and provide peaceful means of protecting ourselves, since it seems that the police aren’t interested in doing so, and neither are other American citizens who are nearby.

Why we’re losing our right to speak out

This is an interesting article that I stumbled upon this morning. It’s worth reading the whole thing. I might add some commentary when I get back later.

Why We’re Losing Our Right to Speak Out
By Chuck Colson
Thursday, May 1, 2008

David Woodward is a political science professor at Clemson University—one who has first-hand experience on how dangerous it can be to speak out in favor of traditional values: He almost lost his job over it.

In 1993, Woodward was asked to testify about the political power of homosexual groups in American life. He agreed to serve as an expert witness for the state of Colorado, which was fighting to defend the recently passed Amendment Two, which made it illegal to give protected status based on sexual orientation.

In his new book, Why We Whisper: Restoring Our Right to Say It’s Wrong, co-authored by my friend, the able South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint, Woodward writes, “In that one decision, I unexpectedly jeopardized my academic career and entered . . . into the fiercest battle of the emergent culture wars.”

To publicly oppose the campaign for same-sex “marriage” and gay rights was, he writes, “the equivalent to being sent to the university Gulag.” He was denied an administrative position on the grounds that he was “ideologically incompatible” with the values of the university. He often found the word homophobe scribbled on his office door. The press viciously attacked him for his views.

But in private, Woodward was hearing a different message. People would call to whisper encouragement. So did parents and university staffers. Some students came into his office, carefully closed the door, and whispered their support. “The one thing they all had in common is that they were all scared, and they all spoke in whispers,” Woodward writes.

Homosexuality is not the only issue Americans can no longer speak freely about: Speaking up in support of any traditional belief will earn you attacks from secular elites. “Whether individual, parent, church, or business, Americans holding traditional values are trapped in a ‘whisper zone’,” Woodward and DeMint write, “surrounded by invisible electric fences that threaten to ‘shock’ them if they cross unmarked legal lines.”

elephant in a bubble is back on

Filed under: Environmentalism @ 5:19 am

In a secret undisclosed location, the bubble artist was scheduled to perform the feat.

Bubble artist Fan Yang’s earlier plan to perform the world-record-setting feat at the Santa Ana Discovery Science Center’s Bubblefest fell apart when the science institution came under fire from animal-rights groups for using a critically endangered species in a “trivial and sensationalist manner.”

I can’t imagine that the elephant would be harmed by such a thing.

Yang said he plans to embark on the stunt at a secret location to prevent any intrusion from disapproving animal-rights activists.

“We canceled before because we had a concern that the animal extremists would jeopardize our event, and for the public safety,” said Yang, who tours his Mega-Bubble spectacles around the world as well as performing regularly in New York and Las Vegas.

Yang said along with wrapping bubbles around people of all ages, he has previously put an elephant in a bubble in India.

His observation: “The elephants love the bubbles just like children do. They understand a lot of things.”

However, some animal-rights advocates who initially took issue with the Discovery Science Center for endorsing a stunt with a wild animal, said they were just as disturbed by Yang’s independent elephant venture.

Animal rights activists claim animal exploitation starts with a ‘mindset’, that ‘they’re here to use in any way we want’.

“If you’re going to look at an endangered elephant as just a stage prop and something that’s just here for our amusement, how are you going to have any respect for them as a species?”

Sometimes I think it’s valuable to have a closer look at these animals; it gives us a greater appreciation for their sensitivity and intelligence.

Kari Johnson and her husband have spent 30 years raising and training Tai, the 39-year-old female Asian elephant scheduled to appear in the event.

She said it’s not the first time they and their show elephants have stirred controversy.

Tai has performed stunts in several movies, including “Operation: Dumbo Drop,” the 1995 Disney production that features an elephant parachuting out of a cargo plane.

“We didn’t think it was fair that a group of animal-rights extremists were using this to push their agenda of taking elephants out of human care,” Johnson said. “Nothing about putting Tai in the bubble would cause her any harm. The elephants like the bubbles, especially the babies they touch and walk after them.”

This video shows an elephant painting a self-portrait. It appears as though it’s having a good time. The crowd certainly expresses awe and appreciation.

This is a very sickening story.

This is the story of a controlling father, who hid a horrible secret for 24 years. Due to an interesting set of circumstances, his daughter and the mother of his six children, was recently set free. Some of the children were with her, other children were being raised upstairs as though they were his grandchildren, by him and his unsuspecting wife. The story he gave to people was that these were his grandchildren, dropped off on his doorstep by his daughter, who had joined a “sect” and couldn’t care for them. Little did anyone know what was really going on! For 24 years these people were separated by a concrete wall.

The children had never been to see a doctor or dentist, and the 19-year old had lost most of her teeth.

Incestuous Austrian proved to have fathered his daughter’s children

According to Elisabeth, she was firstly sexual abused by her father Josef when she was 11 years old and had been locked in the basement since she was 18. And 24 years ago Josef allured her into the cellar, drugged and handcuffed her.

Soon after that, he even forced her to write a letter, saying that she had decided to run away from home. She since then has been registered as missing.

There really is evil in the world. It reminds me of the story of Natascha Kampusch from Vienna. She was held in an underground cellar for eight years, but at least she wasn’t being held by her FATHER.

liberal hypocrisy

At Victor Davis Hansen’s website, by Bruce Thornton, is a review on Peter Schweitzer’s Do as I Say (Not as I Do): Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy, (Doubleday, 2005, 272 pp.).

Interestingly enough, I received a forwarded email that held similar content.

Naom Chomsky, called capitalism a

“‘grotesque catastrophe’ and a doctrine ‘crafted to induce hopelessness, resignation, and despair.’” Yet Chomsky is “himself a shrew capitalist, worth millions, with money in the dreaded and evil stock market, and at least one tax haven to cut down on those pesky inheritance taxes that he says are so important.” Apostles of economic redistribution via the income tax like Chomsky are very clever at making sure that somebody else’s nickel will fund their utopian schemes. Chomsky has set up an irrevocable trust to shelter his money, with his tax attorney and his daughter as trustees.

The examples continue in the email regarding Schweitzer’s book:

Michael Moore
denounces oil and defense contractors as war profiteers. He also claims to have no stock portfolio, yet he owns shares in Halliburton, Boeing, and Honeywell and does his postproduction work in Canada to avoid paying union wages in the United States.

Ted Kennedy’s
closets are chock full of hypocrisy. For example, Schweizer reveals how Ted and the Kennedy clan have protected their assets from estate taxes – as Kennedy fights to keep this tax on other Americans! Kennedy also has fought an environmental program near his Cape Cod home.

Noam Chomsky opposes the very concept of private property and calls the Pentagon “the worst institution in human history,” yet he and his wife have made millions of dollars in contract work for the Department of Defense and own two luxurious homes.

Barbra Streisand
prides herself as an environmental activist, yet she owns shares in a notorious strip-mining company.

Hillary Clinton
supports the right of thirteen-year-old girls to have abortions without parental consent, yet she forbade thirteen-year-old Chelsea to pierce her ears and enrolled her in a school that would not distribute condoms to minors.

Nancy Pelosi received the 2002 Cesar Chavez Award from the United Farm Workers, yet she and her husband own a Napa Valley vineyard that uses nonunion labor.

Schweizer’s conclusion is simple: liberalism in the end forces its adherents to become hypocrites. They adopt one pose in public, but when it comes to what matters most in their own lives-their property, their privacy, and their children-they jettison their liberal principles and embrace conservative ones. Schweizer thus exposes the contradiction at the core of liberalism: if these ideas don’t work for the very individuals who promote them, how can they work for the rest of us?

VANISHING SUNSPOTS PRELUDE TO GLOBAL COOLING?
Sunspots have all but vanished, and activity is suspiciously quiet. The last time this happened was 400 years ago — and it signaled a solar event known as a “Maunder Minimum,” along with the start of what we now call the “Little Ice Age.

How are the moonbats going to keep the warming myth in our faces when faced with more and more evidence that it’s a complete sham?

Ottawa, Canada, April 22, 2008 – The International Climate Science Coalition (ICSC) today released the names of over 500 endorsers of the Manhattan Declaration on Climate Change that calls on world leaders to “reject the views expressed by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as well as popular, but misguided works such as “An Inconvenient Truth”.” All taxes, regulations, and other interventions intended to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) should “be abandoned forthwith”, declaration signatories conclude.

Included in the endorser list are world leading climate scientists, economists, policymakers, engineers, business leaders, medical doctors, as well as other professionals and concerned citizens from two dozen countries. The complete declaration text, endorser lists and international media contacts for expert commentary, may be viewed at here.

Perhaps most significant among the declaration’s assertions:

  1. “there is no convincing evidence that CO2 emissions from modern industrial activity have in the past, are now, or will in the future cause catastrophic climate change.”
  2. “attempts by governments to legislate costly regulations on industry and individual citizens to encourage CO2 reduction will slow development while having no appreciable impact on the future trajectory of global climate change. Such policies will markedly diminish future prosperity and so reduce the ability of societies to adapt to inevitable climate change, thereby increasing, not decreasing human suffering.”

“Just as the Manhattan Project was key to finally ending the Second World War, the Manhattan Declaration on Climate Change may one day be regarded as a critical catalyst that helped end today’s climate hysteria,” said ICSC Science Advisory Board member, Professor Bob Carter of James Cook University in Australia. “Protecting the natural world is crucially important and so environmental policy must be based on our best understanding of science and technology coupled with a realistic appreciation of the relevant economics and policy options. This is not happening in the climate debate.”

ICSC Chair, Professor Tim Patterson of Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada concludes, “Instead of wasting billions restricting emissions of CO2, a vitally important gas on which all life depends, governments must concentrate on solving known environmental problems over which we have influence - air, land and water pollution being obvious examples.“

The ICSC is an association of scientists, economists and energy and policy experts (advisors listed here) working to promote better public understanding of climate change. ICSC provides an analysis of climate science and policy issues which, being independent of lobby groups and vested political interests, is an alternative to advice from the IPCC. ICSC thereby fosters rational, evidence-based, open discussion about all climate, and climate-related, issues.
