UN: leftist doublespeak

Filed under: Communist, Socialist & Nazi , History , NWO @ 6:37 am

The mindtwisting rhetoric coming from liberals and in particular, the UN, is amazing when you examine it.

UN expert stands by Nazi comments

The next UN investigator into Israeli conduct in the occupied territories has stood by comments comparing Israeli actions in Gaza to those of the Nazis.

Speaking to the BBC, Professor Richard Falk said he believed that up to now Israel had been successful in avoiding the criticism that it was due.

Professor Falk is scheduled to take up his post for the UN Human Rights Council later in the year.

This should come as little surprise. The UN is full of socialist and communist dictators - and they all join with Islamic terrorists like Imadinnerjacket who hate Israel. Israel hating and jew-hating is a very popular pastime these days - something that the nazis engaged in. But –just like meatbrain who rushes to call someone else a liar first–they point the fingers at other people and accuse them of being nazis and ignore their own socialist tendencies when Hitler was a socialist, and their own jew-hating, revising history with objections to European law which made it against the law to deny the holocaust. And what do the holocaust deniers have in common? They’re nazis! And what does the UN have in common with them?

What does Youtube have in common with them? Apparently, youtube shares their ideology:

naziyoutube.jpgFrom Pam at Atlas Shrugs: Youtube=NaziTube

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Video-sharing Web site YouTube has met with harsh criticism in Germany for hosting clips that incite racial hatred, according to a news report due to be broadcast on German public TV late on Monday.

The videos hosted on YouTube include clips of a 1940 anti-Semitic propaganda film “Jud Suess” and two music videos of outlawed German far-right rock band Landser, which show footage from World War II depicting Nazi military operations.

If the socialists in the media carrying water for the terrorists aren’t enough, YouTube has more Jihadi videos than al-Jazeera, al-Arabiya, al-Manar & CNN combined. And although a regular person might compare an Islamonazi’s ideology with that of Hitler due to the numerous clues that they fit together such as

  1. al-Banna’s muslim contingent in the Nazi SS,
  2. Hitler’s claiming Islam was more compatible with the German people than Christianity,
  3. Hitler and Islamists thinking that women are for breeding,
  4. Saddam’s uncle who raised him was a nazi,
  5. Saddam’s modeling the chemical attacks on the kurds after the “Final Solution”
  6. and Bin Laden stating the goals of the socialists and Al Qaeda are the same,

Socialists still have the stones to call other people the names that they themselves deserve.

It’s always been interesting to me how convoluted their thinking is, in addition to their not understanding history. History surely will repeat itself if we’re not careful.

Youtube, like the socialists in the media and the socialist peaceniks in the street, claims to be “peaceful” while censoring conservative thought and propping Islamic nazi terrorists as heroes.

Why should the UN be any different? While demonizing Israel and claiming they’re going to send inspecters there, they completely ignore Hamas and the West Bank. Israel has the right to demand that the UN send their inspectors in to inspect the terrorists’ weapon caches. Naturally, that would be met with the same air of cooperation that Saddam met the inspectors with.

And perhaps that’s the whole reason they’ve decided to take this approach.

If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.

But also to send a strong message of cooperation to the Islamic world.

UN passes resolution against “defamation of religions”

Filed under: General , NWO , News , Terrorism and Islam @ 8:19 pm

This is a crafty way of saying they’re eliminating any speech that defames Islam, since Islam is the only religion mentioned in the text.

From Robert Spencer:

“Defamation of religions,” of course, means “speaking the truth about the elements of Islamic teaching that jihadists use to incite to violence.”

“Islamic Bloc Scores ‘Defamation of Religions’ Resolution at UN,” by Patrick Goodenough for CNSNews.com (thanks to Jamie Glazov):

(CNSNews.com) - Alongside a resolution adopted by the U.N. General Assembly this week calling for a moratorium on the death penalty, the world body passed a raft of other human rights-related motions. One of them, introduced by Islamic nations, focuses on combating the “defamation of religions.”

Resolutions on the human rights situation in North Korea and Iran also passed, although dozens of countries — including human rights violators Cuba, Sudan, Syria and Zimbabwe — voted against the motions.

An annual resolution on “the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination” also passed by an overwhelming margin, with only the United States, Israel, and three small Pacific island nations voting “no.” There were four abstentions.

The motion on defamation of religions has been a priority for the 57-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) since 9/11. It took on new impetus following a Danish newspaper’s publication in 2005 of cartoons satirizing Mohammed.

Introduced by Pakistan on behalf of the OIC, it passed on Tuesday by a 108-51 margin, with 25 abstentions. As with many of the other votes, the U.S. lined up with democracies in Europe, Asia and elsewhere against developing nations, including repressive regimes.

Although the resolution refers to defamation of “religions,” Islam is the only religion named in the text, which also takes a swipe at counter-terrorism security measures.

It expresses alarm about “discrimination” and “laws that stigmatize groups of people belonging to certain religions and faiths under a variety of pretexts relating to security and illegal immigration.”

What a bunch of dhimmis! As Spencer points out, according to the UN, it’s now WRONG to RESIST JIHAD.

Read the rest…or go over to Dhimmi Watch…

UN Calls for Abolition of the Death Penalty

Filed under: General , NWO , News @ 6:10 am

Courtesy of that socialist rag the Guardian:

A UN general assembly committee has passed a draft resolution calling for an end to the death penalty in a debate that put the US in the same camp as Iran and Syria.

The resolution, passed 99-52 by the human rights committee yesterday, must still be submitted to the 192-member general assembly for a vote. If approved, it would be non-binding, but would carry moral weight.

Co-sponsored by EU states and 60 other countries, the resolution calls on those countries that have capital punishment to introduce a moratorium on executions and eventually abolish capital punishment.

I’m not sure how it would justify the executions and murderers of the previous members of the UN, but hey. They never apply things in a fair manner; they steal donations meant for hungry people, etc. This is a dishonest organization that, along with the media, wants to portray the Great Satan Amerikka in the same light as Iran, while missing the entire purpose of capital punishment in the US: keeping our streets safe (it’s a strong deterrent to criminals); totally eliminating the expense of keeping murderers alive in a ‘life’ sentence, and stops them from suing the government for cable TV. It’s a win-win for everyone.

Now Iran rules by Sharia law, and according to American standards, cutting off hands and feet is a repulsive practice.

But the UN would never face that one head-on.

The UN should be thrown out of the US and we should resign membership; it’s useless to play around with socialist and communist dicators, thinking playing ‘paddy cake’ with them is going to have a positive effect.

How the UN supports Hamas

Filed under: General , NWO , Terrorism and Islam @ 9:18 pm
Another sickening example of capitulation. And we think EURASIA has a problem.
clipped from www.frontpagemag.com
Palestinians in the new Islamic State of Gaza, crying out for more aid from the United Nations, are turning to United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) for help. Their reliance upon UNRWA comes as no surprise. The organization has been providing food, medicine, and social services to the Palestinian people for 57 years. Unfortunately, UNWRA has never taken steps to withhold assistance to extremist groups. In some cases, it has cooperated openly with terrorists. Today, as UNRWA provides assistance in Gaza, it is directly providing financial and material support to the Hamas terrorist organization.

This is so sickening I can hardly even fathom it.
clipped from gatewaypundit.blogspot.com
Professor Anne Bayefsky at EYE on the UN provides today’s jaw-dropper from the United Nations:

The world’s most notorious state exponent of anti-semitism – Iran – is being given a seat on the UN committee planning a 2009 UN anti-racism conference. This conference is billed as a review of the implementation of the 2001 UN conference against racism which was held in Durban, South Africa. The infamous Durban Conference is remembered for its broadcast of anti-semitism from a global platform under a UN banner and with UN blessing. Now Iran is being placed in a position to drive the agenda of Durban II.

This is competely ignoring, of course, that even anti-war demonstrations this way include tirades against the Jews.

The simple corrolation between the National Socialist Party and modern day Democrat/socialists seems to be lost on them.

Immigration overhaul

Filed under: General , NWO , Open Borders & Immigration @ 6:57 am

The people who’ve been blogging for the Guard Our Borders Blogburst, me included, have been complaining for some time that our border patrol isn’t allowed to do their jobs, and that we’re inviting Mexicans - illegal alien Mexicans - into our country who take advantage of our health care system, and other benefits, and are even now pressing to collect social security benefits when they’re not even citizens.

Now I’m seeing in the news that Bush is pressing for ‘immigration REFORM’. Whatever THAT means.

The only REFORM we need is for people to go back to school and pull out a dictionary and re-read the definition of ILLEGAL. There is no “reform” for someone who isn’t a citizen except to either be deported, or go through what is required of someone to become a citizen, therefore, stop being ‘illegal’. It seems to me to be that simple.

Rules mean nothing to leftists, and apparently Bush is willing to keep pushing NAFTA, CAFTA and the FTAA in order for us to have a government of the Northern Hemisphere in order to join up with the EU to create a One World Government.

Our contribution to greenhouse gases

greenhousegases.jpg
Reference

This table demonstrates in a simple visual format that Lindzen’s theory about cloud cover is completely accurate, and that the majority of ‘greenhouse gases’ are made up of water vapor. As you can see, man’s contribution is barely visible here, because it’s minimal! Greenhouse gases are natural; industrialization has done nothing to with the environment. Industrialization, burning of fossil fuels, actually adds to the wonderful protective blanket that filters harmful rays from the sun and protects our atmosphere. Greenhouse gases are not detrimental to the environment; these gases feed a healthy environment and are natural; not pollution. It’s a beautiful set up: we exhale CO2, plants breathe and thrive on CO2, and expel oxygen. Increased CO2 in the air is as a result of warming, not the other way around; and it’s nature’s cyclical corrective mechanism that we’re witnessing.

The industrial age didn’t bring about intensive global warming; historical data (ACCURATE HISTORICAL DATA) shows us that. There was a time when there was more CO2 in the air back before the industrial age started; and the temperatures were virtually the same.

We should bear all this in mind with Al Gore and the UN’s power grab coming up.

Thanks to Francis T. Manns, Ph.D., P.Geo. (Ontario), with Artesian Geological Research, who sent me three extremely technical papers on warming, one is a very easy to understand powerpoint presentation, and that’s where this graphic came from.

2/2/2007

Global warming idiocy propped by the UN

Nobody said they were all that bright, either. Look at Kofi’s denials about the oil for food program. Why we are looking to the UN to save us is beyond me. Why we are members is even further beyond me, and why the HQ is in the US is astonishing: what other nation was founded on the principles of freedom besides us? Most of them are communist dictators.

I’ve been seeing news reports stating it as fact: global warming is indeed caused by man. But where is the proof? As Bill at Pirate’s Cove mentions in this post, the UN has come out with some stupid report that was produced in France. Let’s not forget Meyssan’s the communist’s idea of what happened to the Pentagon. I take little that comes out of France; including Jean Francois Kerrie as something factual, other than the fact that mold grows on their famous cheeses. Perhaps there is something to the notion that the latte sipping communists in the cafes there let a little bit of that mold seep into their brains.

My fascination with this is growing, based in part on the legislation posed by the democrats within Pelosi’s first 100 hours, and hysterical moonbats who enter into my comments section, completely convinced they can throw their thought control waves in my direction.

There is no clear discernible effect of human activities on global temperatures. Chart from Geologic Constraints on Global Climate Variability (a powerpoint presentation), produced by Dr. Lee Gerhard of the Kansas Geological Society.

This is a very revealing pie chart, because for some strange reason, in spite of the fact that humans are contributing such a small portion to the environment, environmentalists in their hysteria are claiming that restricting our input is somehow going to manipulate the environment. Wouldn’t it seem that even if we completely eliminate our CO2 input to the atmosphere it will have little if any effect overall? If you take this chart in addition to the idea that the environment is totally dynamic and corrects itself, that gives further pause to the ‘global warming myth’ that they’re using to increase the number of government restrictions over us. You can see a lot of this myth completely exposed over at Junk Science dot com. Things like - the earth simply doesn’t behave like a greenhouse. We don’t live in a terrarium. In addition to that, CO2 is not pollution:

There seem to be a few things that your informant forgot to tell you — like carbon dioxide being an essential trace gas that underpins the bulk of the global food web. Estimates vary, but somewhere around 15% seems to be the common number cited for the increase in global food crop yields due to aerial fertilization with increased carbon dioxide since 1950.

My dad said…plants LOOOOOVE carbon dioxide, so the more that’s put into the atmosphere, the more plants will thrive.

This increase has both helped avoid a Malthusian disaster and preserved or returned enormous tracts of marginal land as wildlife habitat that would otherwise have had to be put under the plow in an attempt to feed the growing global population. Commercial growers deliberately generate CO2 and increase its levels in agricultural greenhouses to between 700ppmv and 1,000ppmv to increase productivity and improve the water efficiency of food crops far beyond those in the somewhat carbon-starved open atmosphere. CO2 feeds the forests, grows more usable lumber in timber lots meaning there is less pressure to cut old growth or push into “natural” wildlife habitat, makes plants more water efficient helping to beat back the encroaching deserts in Africa and Asia and generally increases bio-productivity. If it’s “pollution,” then it’s pollution the natural world exploits extremely well and to great profit.

Oh, it’s very much a political issue; but I also agree that environmentalists aren’t very moral, either, since they think a man is a dog is a bug and can’t distinguish between any of them, and don’t elevate man any higher than the spotted owl or a mosquito. They subscribe to the methodoligical materialist evolutionary theory; that man was not created in God’s image.

Bottom line is, they use junk science to make government bigger. And how is that not political? Particularly when some of us are striving to cut back on the size of government in order to preserve our personal freedom, as our founders taught us? Thomas Jefferson said, “Government that governs least governs best.”

But that isn’t what the Greens are trying to achieve. Jane Chastain wrote at WND that Ralph Nader is more red than green, and that is the truth;

Both the Democratic Socialists of America and the Green Party have long histories and red, or communist, roots. The July 2000 Green Bulletin states, “For those of you not familiar with us, The Greens/Green Party USA started in 1984 as the Committees of Correspondence.” Alan Caruba, the editor of the National Anxiety Center’s publication, Warning Signs, has traced this history for us. “The Communist Party that took over Russia in 1917 began as ‘committees of correspondence.’ In 1989, its name was changed to Green Committees of Correspondence and, in 1991, to The Greens/Green Party USA.”

And Ralph Nader has long been fighting ’social injustice’, but you have to take a good luck at the Greens and where they came from. From Alan Caruba, the editor of the National Anxiety Center’s publication, Warning Signs:

“The Communist Party that took over Russia in 1917 began as ‘committees of correspondence.’ In 1989, its name was changed to Green Committees of Correspondence and, in 1991, to The Greens/Green Party USA.”

To make the devastatingly stupid statement that the environmental movement is not ‘political’ is to completely ignore the facts. Michael Moore is a ‘Green’, and we saw how ‘nonpolitical’ he is with his schlockumentary, Fahrenheit 9/11.

As so much of the real evidence suggests, humans are not altering the atmosphere because the earth corrects itself. Even if things continue as they do for the next 100 years, and we do all we can to limit our contribution to C02 in the atmosphere, it will only have an effect of less than .05 degrees.

One of the funniest things about the global warming myth is ‘cooling is due to warming’. The very essence of the debate is we are not to accept any scientific data which is not government funded, and which does not support the growth of government bureaucracy. And to me, that doesn’t equate to science at all; which postulates and tests new theories. Shouldn’t science be open to doing that? Not where global warming and evolution are concerned! Instead of calmly and rationally discussing all points of view, like true scientists would do; in those two instances, other points of view are completely shut out in view of blind hysteria to push through completely unnecessary legislation.

oh crap, I thought we were rid of Khalilzad for good

Filed under: Afghanistan, Iraq & Military , General , NWO , News @ 4:55 am

We just can’t get rid of this guy, he’s like a chihuaha pulling on a pantleg. First, his history as a consultant with Unocal just grated against my nerves. But seriously, I don’t consider him much different than Karzai. Karzai releases terrorists, ‘forgives’ the Taliban, and Khalilzad has done pretty much the same thing. I just have this feeling that Khalilzad has had something to do with the so-called ‘victims’ of the Haditha incident and others getting payment from the American government for turning on American soldiers for crimes alleged by known terrorists.

First, Khalilzad is Ambassador to Afghanistan, where he started asking ‘who shot first?’ when coalition soldiers and others were killing the Taliban, or would get into a firefight with terrorists. When he screws that up sufficiently, he’s given an award by Karzai and then switched over to be Ambassador to Iraq (while still keeping his hands on what’s happening in Afghanistan), and happened to be on vacation when the Saddam Hussein hanging discussions were going on before Eid.

Now I find out the reason he’s losing his job as Ambassador to Iraq is that he’s been appointed by Bush to be–oh my god-US Ambassador to the United Nations!!! Khalilzad is Sunni, and he was trying to urge the Iraqis to wait to hang Saddam Hussein. huh. Do you think it’s a good thing to have this man as US Ambassador to the UN? This is a crazy move! We go from John Bolton, who belonged there giving all those anti-American nuts some grief, to Ambassador Khalilzad who in my mind has already proven himself to be too willing to work with terrorists and work for their ‘rights’ over that of Americans. This cannot be good.

Khalilzad has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.

From 1979 to 1986, Dr. Khalilzad was an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Columbia University.

Meanwhile, Karzai has an eighth grade education with a bunch of honorary degrees.

Bolton’s stalled nomination

Filed under: General , NWO , News @ 5:46 am

A small number of Senators blocked the up or down vote on Bolton’s nomination and now those same senators are trying to drive him out.

Newsmax:

A Yale Law School graduate, Bolton served as undersecretary of state for arms control and international security beginning in 2001. Before that he was assistant secretary of state for international organization affairs in President George H.W. Bush’s administration, and earlier he was an assistant attorney general in the Reagan administration.

As David Limbaugh has written, “Liberals don’t like it one bit that Bolton sees his role as vigorously representing the national interests of the United States, just as every other U.N. ambassador advocates the positions of his own country.

“They don’t support Bolton’s efforts to reform the United Nations, a corrupt organization that has consistently mistreated the United States and made a mockery of human rights — a cause it purports to champion. They cringe when Bolton exposes U.N. hypocrisy, such as when he pointedly challenged Louise Arbour, the U.N. high commissioner for human rights, on her threat to charge Israeli leaders with war crimes.”

Democratic Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware, who says Bolton’s nomination is going nowhere, once strangely complained that Bolton is “too competent.”

When Bolton assumed his undersecretary of state post, liberal Democratic Sen. Byron Dorgan warned that under Bolton’s direction the U.S. would abandon the Anti-Ballistic Missile (ABM) Treaty, build a destabilizing national missile defense system, abandon the Kyoto treaty, suspend talks with North Korea and oppose the International Criminal Court.

Bolton should be confirmed, but the internationalists who favor international law over our constitution are fighting against it. The thought that our president would send Bolton to the corrupt, scandal-ridden, child-molesting U.N. is driving them up a wall.

The Heritage foundation has pointed out a number of points regarding the steadfast principled actions of Bolton, among them-”As former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher observed in a letter of support for John Bolton, ‘A capacity for straight talking rather than peddling half-truths is a strength and not a disadvantage in diplomacy. In the case of a great power like America, it is essential that people know where you stand and assume you know what you say.’”

The New York Times — a longtime critic of Bolton — wrote in an editorial: “When it comes to reforming the disgraceful United Nations Human Rights Commission, America’s ambassador, John Bolton, is right.

Neil Cavuto says what they’re doing to Bolton isn’t fair, isn’t right, and isn’t decent.

So the very Congress that talks up hearing from all sides, won’t even give this man the decency of their vote… yea or nay.

It’s embarrassing. It’s humiliating. It’s politics.

Play these games with nefarious leaders from rogue nations who deserve them. Not with a guy who’s been going 24/7 trying to keep us safe and who does not.

They once said that John Bolton would be like a bull in a china shop. Pity that no one mentioned the even bigger bull, in our own Capitol.

CAFTA approved by the Senate

This is very disheartening news, considering our already existing borders problem.

June 30 (Bloomberg) — The U.S. Senate approved the Central American Free Trade Agreement today by a vote of 54-45, clearing the second to last hurdle to implementation. The House of Representatives is planning its vote for sometime after July 11.

Today’s vote is the smallest margin for a trade agreement in the normally pro-trade Senate since at least 1993 when senators approved the North American Free Trade Agreement 61-38.

And why is that? That’s because NAFTA has already brought disastrous results, these people think that CAFTA is going to IMPROVE the situation? CAFTA is a “free” trade agreement that includes the United States, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Honduras and Costa Rica. The Dominican Republic may also be added to the group. Negotiations for CAFTA were complete in December and January. CAFTA is modeled after the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). NAFTA has been a disaster for small farmers and working people in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Hundreds of thousands of jobs lost, family farms foreclosed, and public interest laws overturned or challenged in secret NAFTA courts. Despite this dismal record, the Bush administration is seeking to expand NAFTA to Central America and the rest of the Western Hemisphere.

From the beginning of CAFTA negotiations, the Bush administration has been clear that completion of CAFTA is crucial to move the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) negotiations forward faster, by adding extra pressure to countries like Brazil, Venezuela and Argentina to either accede to U.S. demands, or be left out. CAFTA is NAFTA extended to Central America.

Here is more information on stopping CAFTA.

For people who don’t know what kind of havoc CAFTA is going to rain on us, here are some points worth considering:

* Have negative effects on workers, small farmers, and immigrant communities in the United States;

We know that poor communities in the United States are most harmed by the corrosive effects of free trade. We know that free trade leads to massive job loss in the U.S. as corporations continue to outsource and move factories to countries with the cheapest wages. Unions in the U.S. have opposed CAFTA and the FTAA because of the effects that these agreements have on workers. We know that the loss of family farms in the U.S. has accelerated under liberalized trade rules since 1994. Family farm associations in the U.S. oppose CAFTA precisely because it furthers the same damaging policies.

* Bankrupt millions of small farmers and deprive the people of Central America and the Dominican Republic of the ability to grow their own food;

We know that in the past 10 years 1.5 million small farmers in Mexico have lost their land, as dumping from large multinationals have depressed prices of corn and other grains. And yet, the price of food has not gone down. Indeed, the same multinationals that use their market dominance to lower corn prices own controlling interests in companies such as Maseca that overcharge for corn based products such as tortillas. While the price of food has gone up in Mexico, the country has become a net importer of food and grains.

* Destroy small businesses, making them prey to large national and transnational corporations;

We know that in just the first three years after NAFTA went into effect that twenty-eight thousand small businesses were forced to close in Mexico. The “Walmartization” of the Mexican economy continues; Wal-Mart is currently the largest private employer in Mexico. As a result of the closing of small businesses unemployment and poverty have increased. Indeed, the minimum wage in Mexico has fallen 25% since NAFTA was implemented.

* Particularly hurt women who endure poverty wages and abusive treatment in the maquila sectors;

We know that in the maquila sector of Central America and the Dominican Republic women are consistently the targets of sexual abuse, humiliation, and are denied access to basic health services. We know that wages are so low, they rarely meet mandatory minimums in each country. We know that when women attempt to organize to defend their rights, they are fired. We know that CAFTA contains no provision that will ameliorate this situation, and will in fact remove what limited mechanisms currently exist under U.S. General System of Preferences trade law to address the ongoing crisis. We know that in 10 years since NAFTA passed, women in Mexico have faced the same situation, and that the supposedly stronger labor provisions in NAFTA?s labor side agreement have never been enforced.

* Accelerate the privatization of essential public services, making those resources and services unaffordable;

We know that access to essential services is determined by the price of those services and the availability of infrastructure to deliver them. We know that following years of forced privatization in Central America and the Dominican Republic, prices have gone up, and infrastructure continues to deteriorate. We know that, under CAFTA, additional service sectors such as water and health will be opened further to privatization. We know that life is not possible without access to water, and we do not accept that proposition that health care should only be available to those who can afford it. We know that there is not single example of privatization in Central America or the Dominican Republic that resulted in expanded access to essential services.

* Increase emigration to the United States of people who can not make a living in their home countries;

We know that migration from Mexico doubled in the period from 1994-2000. This sad reality is the direct result of liberalization policies that have destroyed large segments of the rural economy and small businesses. We know that in Central America and the Dominican Republic there is already a crisis of unemployment that has resulted from liberalization policies, and that CAFTA will make these harmful policies permanent.

* Subject natural resources and the very seeds used to plant food to patents by large foreign companies;

We know that Central America is one of the most deforested regions in the world. We know that mining companies pollute ground water, and destroy ecosystems and livelihoods in Central America and the Dominican Republic with impunity already. We know that the genetic heritage of domestic seed strains in the region are already under attack through official seed exchange, and other U.S. supported programs. We know that the further extension of patent rights to natural resources will reduce the access of Central Americans and Dominicans to the most fundamental building blocks of sustainable community life.

* Prevent the Central American countries and the Dominican Republic from forming industrial policies that would lead to real development.

Under CAFTA, governments cannot require investors to use a certain level of domestic content (of locally produced raw materials) in the goods produced in their countries or require investors to transfer technology or productions processes to local citizens. Because of these and other measures, the Central American countries and the Dominican Republic, under CAFTA, would be destined to remain at on the bottom rung of the development ladder.

* Cripple the ability of Governments to insist on national health, safety, environmental and labor protections for our citizens.

We know that in the ten years since NAFTA went into effect that corporations have challenged the enforcement of existing laws and/or the implementation of new public interest laws 30 times under NAFTA?s infamous Chapter 11 investment provisions. We know that the trade panels that review these cases are not accountable to the public. We know that CAFTA contains the same provisions that would allow companies to challenge public interest laws by seeking damages should these laws be enforced. We know that CAFTA actually expands the definition of investment even more broadly, thus ensuring many more cases.

* Restrict access to affordable medicines for those who need them most.

We know that Central America is one of the impoverished regions in the world and that access to basic medicines is essential for survival. We know that U.S. pharmaceutical companies constitute the most profitable sector of the U.S. economy ? under current trade rules. We know that CAFTA will restrict access to generic medicines by forcing governments to recognize and extend patent rights to U.S. pharmaceutical companies beyond those requirements already in place through the World Trade Organization. We know that exceptions granted to impoverished countries under WTO intellectual property rights rules will be superceded by CAFTA for Central American countries and the Dominican Republic. We know that prices for medicines will increase as a result, and thus access to basic medicines will be reduced. We know that many more people will die from preventable diseases as a result.

We ask that all members of Congress recognize the potential devastation that CAFTA holds in store for the people of Central America and the Dominican Republic. We ask that all members of Congress recognize that the further loss of jobs and small farms in the United States that will result from CAFTA is further proof of a failed trade policy agenda. We ask all members of Congress to recognize that the further expansion of rights to transnational corporations is not a path to development for Central America or the Dominican Republic, and erodes the very basis of democracy for all of us. Before we can move forward in a positive direction, with trade policies that address the vast disparities between the United States and the other countries included in CAFTA, Congress must vote “No” on CAFTA.

George Soros cozy with Annan aide

Filed under: General , NWO , News @ 5:23 am

hehehe this is priceless. Apparently a guy who works for the United Nations is staying in one of George Soros’ properties for the exact salary the guys makes with the UN. ??? Sounds quite fishy and is also illegal. But do you think that will stop them? nah.

A top aide to U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan is defending his rental of a home in a posh New York suburb from billionaire financier and Democratic money-raiser George Soros.

Mark Malloch Brown acknowledged last week he pays $120,000 a year in rent to Soros, who last year orchestrated an expensive and unsuccessful effort to defeat President Bush. Brown’s annual salary as Annan’s chief of staff is $125,000.

Brown denied there is anything inappropriate about having Soros as his landlord, telling reporters at a daily news briefing, “I pay a full commercial rent for the one property of his that I live in.”

With Bush a Republican and Congress controlled by the GOP, Annan’s point man having such a financial relationship with Soros could raise eyebrows in Washington. Soros contributed more than $23 million to moveon.org and other groups that sought to topple Bush.

And this relationship is illegal.

An anonymous e-mail that has circulated internally within the development program and to the media contends that Leites’ actions violate U.N. regulations intended to keep the organization politically neutral.

But just about everyone knows it’s not–take a look at all the socialist/communist countries who are members.

The timing of The Interpreter

Filed under: General , Music, Books, Film , NWO @ 5:17 am

Because the UN is taking some pretty serious hits in the media and elsewhere (reference oil for food scandal, UN “peacekeepers” charged with raping and/or sexually molesting young girls in the Congo, the Central African Republic, East Timo and Kosovo; Belgian peacekeepers roasted a Somali boy and other acts of sadism and torture against Somali citizens, one of the UN’s senior officials from France ran an Internet pedophile ring that victimized hundreds of children and had been caught with a 12-year old; the UN’s Population Fund (UNFPA) continues to fund China’s notoriously brutal program of forced abortion and sterilization; despotic dictatorships and terrorist regimes chair or help run UN committees on human rights and terrorism, etc.), Hollywonk comes to the rescue and decided it was time to put out some more propaganda shoring up support for the UN and promoting the authority of the international criminal court. Hence, the release of The Interpreter.

The movie’s plot is around Nicole Kidman, who plays an African-born UN interpreter named Sylvia Broome. Broome returns late at night to her glass booth above the darkened UN General Assembly room to fetch her flute and happens to hear two men whispering about an assassination plot. Unbeknownst to the conspirators, a nearby microphone just happens to be on and their blot is broadcast over Broome’s earphones. The would-be assassins were speaking in Ku, the imaginary African tribal dialect of the imaginary African country of Matobo, which is obviously meant to represent modern-day Zimbabwe. Broome, who just happens to be on of the half-dozen or so interpreters who understand and speaks Ku, just happens to be in her cubicle for the few seconds when they reveal their scheme. Of course, the interpreter must inadvertently give herselve away so that killers realize they’ve been made, so that they’ll get a good look at her.

The chase is on. Will the killer succeed in their assassination of a head of state inside the UN General Assembly before a live worldwide audience? Will the killers get to Broome? Who are the killers? Broome couldn’t identify them and there are many who qualify as suspects. To make matters worse, Broome comes under suspicion herself! The target of the assassins is Dr. Edmond Zuwanie, who is clearly meant to represent Zimbabwe’s murderous dictator, Robert Mugabe. Like Mugabe, Zuwanie was once hailed in the UN as a savior of Africa, but his time in power has proven him to be a genocidal meglomaniac rather than their messiah. But unlike the fictional Zuwanie, Mugabe still has a big following among fellow kleptocrats and tyrants at the UN–despite the fact that he has become an embarrassment and a pariah to the media and academic elites who boosted him to power. Zimbabwe, after all, currently serves as an esteemed member of the UN Commission for Human Rights!

This film is the first to ever be done “on location” right at the UN HQ. With a succession of scenes filmed at the General Assembly, says Seattle Post’s Williams Arnold, “the Security Council and its various nooks, crannies and corridors, the 60-year old building becomes the movie’s third star and in its director’s viewfinders, mankind’s only hope for the future.”

The movie’s real plot goal from the very beginning.
