Where: Our Lady of Mercy Church - 4416 N. Troy, Chicago - We will protest on the public sidewalk in front of the Church.

Rep. Gutierrez Launches Nationwide Illegal Alien Amnesty Tour

On Friday, February 27, Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) began visiting 16 American cities in an effort to promote blanket amnesty for millions of illegal aliens currently in the United States and so-called comprehensive immigration reform.

Gutierrez promoted the tour as the “‘Family Unity Immigration Outreach Tour” and in a press release called it an effort to “document the harm caused to citizens across our nation in the absence of comprehensive immigration reform.”

He has already had events in Providence, Rhode Island, Atlanta, Georgia, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. The tour is expected to hit fourteen other cities including Phoenix, Arizona; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Last week, after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid in Bellingham, Washington in which 25 people were detained for deportation, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano met with Gutierrez and members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.. (The Hill, February 26, 2009). Following the meeting, the media reported that members were “more hopeful than ever that Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will end workplace raids by immigration enforcement officials.” Late last week, Napolitano ordered a review of ICE which drew criticism from enforcement minded Members of Congress.

Congressman Lamar Smith said:

“Let me see if I have this straight, ICE agents arrest a criminal illegal immigrant gang member, discover he had worked illegally with other illegal immigrants at a manufacturing plant, begin an investigation of the employer and arrest the illegal immigrants to get more facts … and the Secretary orders an investigation of ICE?”

We at the Minuteman Project encourage all of our members to peacefully protest Rep. Gutierrez at each of these upcoming events in support of the rule of law, and in favor of border security.

Bush Commutes sentences for Ramos and Compean

Bush Commutes Sentences for Two Former Border Patrol Agents (Fox)

On his last full day in office, President Bush commuted the controversial sentences of two former Border Patrol agents convicted of shooting a Mexican drug runner in 2005.

The imprisonment of Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean had sparked outcry from critics who said the men were just doing their jobs and were punished too harshly. They had been sentenced to 11- and 12-year sentences, respectively.

Their sentences will now expire on March 20 of this year.

Ramos and Compean were sentenced in connection with the shooting of Osvaldo Aldrete Davila, who was shot in the buttocks while trying to flee along the Texas border. He admitted smuggling several hundred pounds of marijuana on the day he was shot and pleaded guilty last year to drug charges related to two other smuggling attempts.

Nearly the entire congressional delegation from Texas and other lawmakers from both sides of the political aisle pleaded with Bush to grant them clemency. Conservatives hailed Bush’s decision Monday.

“The whole thing was ridiculous from beginning to end, and two years was way too long for them to serve,” said radio talk show host Laura Ingraham. “Conservatives are very happy across the country.”

Well…I’m not happy at all. They should have been totally pardoned; they shouldn’t have been in jail at all. They lost their jobs, they lost everything for DOING THEIR JOBS. And for what? Was all of this to send a message to border agents that they should not defend the border, even if they’re facing armed drug runners? This is ridiculous.

God bless those men and their families…is there any news on Gilmer Hernandez, while we’re at it?

It took 7 years for David Snipe to receive vindication…

Ramos and Compean Rally in the snow

Filed under: General , Open Borders & Immigration @ 11:10 pm

People from all over the country are pulling for and in support of Ramos and Compean. This is from the Rally across from Melissa Bean’s office in Schaumburg, Illinois. These guys are continuously out there trying to raise awareness as to the plight of those border control agents; who should NEVER have been sent to jail for doing their jobs. (I’m going to finish uploading the pictures in the morning and finish this post then; but thought I’d share what I’ve completed so far. 1/10/09 2210 hours) These pics were forwarded to me by Rick Biesada, and they are used here with permission.

Although turnout was light, the mood as usual was very upbeat! As scheduled, the Chicago Minuteman Project and Minutemen Midwest were out in the snow to draw attention to the plight of Ramos and Compean.

We need phone calls and personal visits to members of Congress to continue.

The continued incarceration of Ramos and Compean is an embarrassment to the entire country!!

Picture of road conditions on the way to the rally.

image1.jpg

There was not much traffic and it sure looks like a winter wonderland!!

image2.jpg

As you can see visibility was limited.

image3.jpg

The Liberate America sign is compliments of Jeff from the FIRE Coalition who obtained it with the help of Rameys in Minneapolis - St. Paul last year.

image4.jpg

It was easy lining up the signs in about a foot of snow. Not many plows had been through this area and with the high price of salt not as much gets used this year so the snow stays cleaner.

image5.jpg

As you can see the snow is starting to build on people’s clothes.

image6.jpg

You get an idea as to visibility in this pic.

image7.jpg

As you can see below, the snow was building rapidly on the windward side of Rick Biesada on the right and Mike on the left. If these pictures are not enough for you to show to people to enthuse them enough to participate in the battle to save our Country and free Ramos and Compean, I am open to suggestions.

South Texas Deputies authorized to fire into Mexico

Filed under: Open Borders & Immigration @ 8:28 pm

Seriously.

Now you just have to wonder what’s happening here, considering the plight of the border control agents Ramos, Compean and Hernandez…

But these are “South Texas Deputies”. I’m going to have to find out who they are in relationship to the border control agents.

We have had the Mexican Army come over our border in tanks and weren’t allowed to do anything…

There is a crisis along the border with these people running across it - and there’s a crisis within our borders because these people are being given benefits as though they’re American citizens.

paying bribes necessary to get Corsi out of Kenya

Filed under: Open Borders & Immigration @ 5:09 am

Bribes paid for Corsi to escape from Kenya
Insider reports thousands given to ‘various officials’

LONDON – Bribes totaling thousands of dollars were paid to facilitate WND senior staff reporter Jerome Corsi’s departure from Kenya after immigration authorities there detained him and his publicist – holding them under armed guard and without food – to prevent Corsi from holding a news conference revealing what he had discovered about Barack Obama’s controversial ties in the African nation.

I wonder if his investigation also includes the information that Obama and his minions have been trying to cover up regarding his blood lines; that he is not in fact “black”, but African Arab.

His father was classified as African Arab by the Kenyan government.

Minuteman Protest, Schaumburg: Melissa Bean

Filed under: Open Borders & Immigration @ 4:34 am

WHAT: Justice & Representative Melissa Bean
WHERE: 1622 E. Algonquin Road - Schaumburg
WHEN: Saturday - October 11, 2008 - 11:00AM - 1:00PM

Why won’t Representative Melissa Bean co-sponsor HR 563 - Congressional Pardon for Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean Act? Many of the voters in the Illinois 8th District have called Melissa Bean and asked her to put her name to this bill. We know that Speaker Pelosi will not bring this bill up for a vote unless it has sufficient co-sponsorship. So what is Bean waiting for? Does she care about justice? Does the Representative even care about public safety issues in the 8th District? We’d all like a straight answer. Melissa Bean wants your vote in November…but first, we want her to co-sponsor HR 563.

REAL gun control, Sarah Palin style

WHY don’t we hear this on our NEWS?????
Teach the children early to respect guns..
*Shooting in Butte, Montana*

Shotgun preteen vs. illegal alien Home Invaders :

Butte, Montana November 5, 2007

Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two-story home.

It seems the two crooks never learned two things: they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay pigeon shooting champion since she was nine.

Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father’s room and grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.

Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old’s knee crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals.

When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive.

It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45 caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. That victim, 50-year-old David Burien, was not so lucky. He died from stab wounds to the chest.

Ever wonder why good stuff never makes NBC, CBS, PBS, MSNBC, CNN, or ABC news……..an 11-year-old girl, properly trained, defended her home, and herself……against two murderous, illegal immigrants……and she won… she is still alive.

From my dad, through email.

Verified: here, here, here - if anyone can post a link in comments to a news article on this, I would appreciate it, although it would figure if it was scrubbed from the web.

Thanks to my vigilant commenters, it turns out the story is NOT TRUE, but the message is a good one. See Snopes, here. You’ll see two similar stories, but not the one from dad’s email at snopes, without all of the story’s elements in it. But as my comments fail to understand, I don’t care if it’s true or not; the message or ‘moral to the story’ is what is worth while; it reminds me of an Aesop’s fable.

“Good stuff” DOES rarely make the news.

I’ve seen a lot of folks out there trying to say this story is FAKE…from 2006, or 2007. Can’t find much else beyond people posting it in forums, though.

What a great story to remind us just why we cling to our guns and religion; and why we oppose ILLEGALS and giving them AMNESTY.

Hope the McCain campaign is listening.

12 Americans are murdered every day by illegal aliens

Filed under: Open Borders & Immigration @ 5:38 am

Twelve Americans are murdered every day by illegal aliens, according to 2006 statistics released by Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa. If those numbers are correct, it translates to 4,380 Americans murdered annually by illegal aliens – more than the U.S. death toll of soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan combined. That’s more than 30,000 Americans killed by illegal aliens since Sept. 11, 2001.

From WND: Illegals shock, suffocate, slit throats in U.S.; Alien murderers-for-hire send 4 shipped back to Mexico in body bags

Disgusting.

Minuteman Protest in Schaumburg

Filed under: General , Open Borders & Immigration @ 5:06 pm

minutemanschaumburg.png

I met this group of guys while they were still gathering together. Their mission was to protest the continued incarceration of Compean and Ramos, but they also talked about Gilbert Hernandez.

borderpatrolagentscompeanandramos.jpg

Compean and Ramos were charged with shooting at Osvaldo Aldrete Davila (Fox News, 2007), who ran to Mexico after he was shot in the buttocks in February 2005. It was later found Aldrete was transporting over 700 pounds of marijuana while in the U.S. illegally. U.S. officials gave immunity to Aldrete for that drug run in exchange for his testimony against the two agents.

A jury found that Ramos and Compean not only shot at an unarmed Aldrete — although the agents claimed they thought he had a gun — but then tried to cover it up by picking up the shell casings and omitting details of the incident on their report.

The agents’ plight has galvanized border security groups and other grassroots organizations, including dozens of lawmakers in Washington, who have been pushing Bush to pardon the men.

Johnny Sutton gave immunity to an illegal drug runner for his testimony against our own border control agents for simply doing their jobs. But what is really sad is how old this is, how much their families have suffered, and how the Bush Administration is in bed with the pro amnesty crowd and is NOT ENFORCING OUR LAWS. Bottom line is…the prosecution should have been against Osbaldo Aldrete-Davila, and not the Border Patrol Agents Compean and Ramos.

I had to split for a picnic this afternoon, but they were making quite a splash as far as awareness, people stopped me in the parking lot to ask what it was all about, and people were honking their horns as they drove by in support. A couple of people came around to ask them what it was about, and then voiced their approval.

No communists from ANSWER, La Raza or any of the usual suspects showed up; i guess because this was in the suburbs and the commies were busy sipping lattes at Starbucks. It was not in front of the Mexican Consulate in Chicago because of Elvira Arellano with press all around…she went back to Mexico and that leftist Methodist church that was protecting her apparently is looking for some other “victim” of our immigration laws to champion. When the pro-amnesty people appear at protests - it’s usually when they can get some press coverage. And the press is only interested in promoting their side of the argument and depicting regular Americans who want our country to follow its own laws as lunatics, or wacky militants, or racists.

That in itself is wacky; Compean, Ramos and Hernandez are themselves American hispanics.

There are no “victims” of our immigration laws; these laws exist for good reason. We have American workers who are being displaced, that’s pretty obvious when there are guys like the Lone Protester, Terry Funderbark, out there who are watching their businesses hit the skids because of illegals, and paying a price for objecting to this growing and irritating phenomenon.

Jake and MJ from Freedom Folks document crimes committed by illegals every week in their Blogs 4 Borders blogbursts-and are well aware of the physical attacks the supposedly “peaceful” communists wage on them for voicing the very reasonable assertion that the US should uphold our immigration laws.

The communists believe we should smash the borders, and that everyone should have the benefits of citizenship. That seems in sane when our country is shelling out millions of dollars to accommodate them in our school systems, in our hospitals, etc.

These guys told me the solution to the “amnesty” problem - we should enforce the laws that are on the books.

They are the Minutemen Midwest, and the Chicago Minuteman Project.

Conservative voices in Illinois need to be heard and seen. And since the media isn’t DOING THEIR JOB, somebody has to…!!

(Yes, I see the globs of gunk on my lens. It’s clean now, thank you.)

The Chicago Minutemen organized it, the Minutemen Midwest joined them. These are nationally held rallies in conjunction with the American Freedom Riders, based out of Arizona. Each city with Minuteman Chapters hosts a rally each month around the country, usually each Saturday. (from Rick, through email; thanks for the clarification)
