I will be on with Debbie Lee to talk about what’s happening with Move America forward and their drive for Care Packages for the Troops, and the upcoming “From the Frontlines” webathon with Rush Limbaugh and a cast of celebrities like Mark Levin.

A Bloomberg poll last month found that 61% of Americans believe withholding funding for the war is a bad idea, while only 28% believe it is a good idea.
According to a March USA Today/Gallup poll, 61% of Americans oppose “denying the funding needed to send any additional troops to Iraq.”
That poll also showed that only 20% of Americans want to withdraw the troops immediately.
Public Opinion Strategies (POS) recently reported that a majority of voters (54%) oppose the Democrats imposing a reduction in troops below the level military commanders requested.
A POS poll in February found that 59% of voters believe pulling out of Iraq immediately would do more to harm America’s reputation in the world than staying until order is restored.
That POS poll also finds 57% of voters support staying in Iraq until the job is finished and “the Iraqi government can maintain control and provide security for its people.”
According to a Time magazine poll also taken in March, only 32% want to withdraw the troops within the next year no matter what happens.
Just a short one today, there is much to do. Giving Gribbit a virtual hug for what he’s celebrating this weekend.
Christ, the Lord, is risen today, Alleluia!
Sons of men and angels say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heavens, and earth, reply, Alleluia!
Christianity and this past Thursday; the last Supper, and the garden of Gethsemane.
Good Friday, and why it is Good. Why Christ died.
Isaiah 531Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? 2For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. 9And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. 10Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. 11He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. 12Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. - King James VersionJohn 15:13Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. - King James Version

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
John Stuart Mill
English economist & philosopher (1806 - 1873)
You know, maybe we should reconsider our criticism of the behavior of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s hostages – if no one in the West, including the U.N., EU, and their own government, was willing to stand up to Iran, why should they? Why should these captured soldiers stand tall, when their leadership is on its knees?
The Young America Foundation podcast at Townhall about returning to Reagan conservatism.
Inigo Wilson the community affairs manager for the mobile phone company Orange, wrote this back in 2006 - at ConservativeHome, one of the UK’s top political blogs. He was suspended. Rotty from the Rottweiler Puppy drew my attention to this a while ago. It wasn’t until now that I was able to post something about it with the audio file in the podcast.
I understand that emails from supporters of Inigo outnumbered emails against him by more than five-to-one… a real victory for the conservative blogopsphere and a real defeat for those Muslim extremists who want to close down debate.
The democrats should pony up and fund the troops; the supplemental is a disgrace. They’ve decided the war is lost - making it more difficult for our troops to succeed. The troop surge is working.
There are other indicators than just people who have been generous with their criticism in the past and are suspiciously quiet now. Muqtada al-Sadr cleared out of Iraq and is hiding in Iran because he didn’t want to get shot. His Mahdi Army commanders are also suddenly invisible, having got out of dodge and have just gone to ground.
If our opponents in Iraq are afraid of a surge in troops and a change in the rules of engagement, shouldn’t we be pleased?
Look, I’m going to be busy with school this week, and I don’t know if I’m going to get to much more of this before the weekend - and a paper is due on the weekend, so it might be a while before I’m able to play like this again.
…if the supplemental is not passed by April 15th, the service will be forced to consider the following kinds of actions:
one, curtailing and suspending home station training for Reserve and Guard units;
two, slowing the training of units slated to deploy next to Iraq and Afghanistan;
three, cutting the funding for the upgrade or renovation of barracks and other facilities that support quality of life for troops and their families; and
fourth, stopping the repair of equipment necessary to support pre-deployment training.
If the supplemental is not passed by May 15th, the Army will be forced to consider the following:
one, reducing the repair work being done at Army depots;
two, delaying or curtailing the deployment of brigade combat teams to their training rotations;
three, this, in turn, will cause additional units in theater to have their tours extended because other units are not ready to take their place;
four, delaying the formation of new brigade combat teams;
five, implementation of a civilian hiring freeze;
sixth, prohibiting the execution of new contracts and service orders, including service contracts for training events and facilities; and
seventh, holding or cancelling the order of repair parts to non-deployed units in the Army.
This kind of disruption to key programs will have a genuinely adverse effect on the readiness of the Army and the quality of life for soldiers and their families. I urge the Congress to pass the supplemental as quickly as possible.

Syria is on the list of state sponsors of terrorism. Do we need any more proof that democrats are stupid? “Reaching out to the world” is what her supporters claim she’s doing…I would call it underestimating the enemy.
As much as Blair tries to make it sound like the UN and the EU are going to take a hard line against Iran, Iran could really give a rip.
Don’t Confuse Terrorism with Islam, says EU
I didn’t talk about this, but this was just relayed to me by Brendan, and look at how disgusting this is. This is an example of the kind of ‘hardline’ that the EU has against the terrorists.
The European Union has drawn up guidelines advising government spokesmen to refrain from linking Islam and terrorism in their statements.
Brussels officials have confirmed the existence of a classified handbook which offers “non-offensive” phrases to use when announcing anti-terrorist operations or dealing with terrorist attacks.
Banned terms are said to include “jihad”, “Islamic” or “fundamentalist”.
The word “jihad” is to be avoided altogether, according to some sources, because for Muslims the word can mean a personal struggle to live a moral life.
Yeah, right. Don’t dare use the words that the terrorists themselves use…
UK Independence Party MEP Gerard Batten claimed that the EU was in denial over the true roots of terrorism.
“This type of newspeak shows that the EU refuses to face reality,” he said. “The major world terrorist threat is one posed by ideology and that ideology is inspired by fundamentalist jihadi Islam.”
